The Determinants of Corporate Training in Korea - Market Failure and State Intervention - (한국 기업의 교육훈련 결정요인 - 시장실패와 정부 개입을 중심으로 -)

  • Focusing market failure and state intervention, this article analyzes the determinants of corporate training in Korea. Analysing the first wave of HCCP(Human Capital Corporate Panel) data produced by KRIVET(Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training), this article finds that even though the skills attainead in corporate in Korea are mostly general(industry-specific), but the market failure in training appears rather small and is confined to the manufacturing industry. And the state intervention in corporate training works only at manufacturing industry, it does not work at new service industry. The results mean that in new service industry, it is difficult to find out the existence of market failure in training due to the positive externalities. Therefore Korea government should look thoroughly into the state intervention in training in new service industry.

  • 가상현실 기술을 이용한 컴퓨터 지원 교육훈련 시스템 (VR-CATS: Virtual Reality based Computer Assisted Training System) 개발에 대한 연구를 전력연구원에서는 계속 수행해 왔다. 본 논문에서는 New VR-CATS (울진 3호기 참조)중 가상현실에서의 공동 협동 훈련 시스템(Virtual Reality Collaboration Training System)의 설계에 관하여 서술한다. 공동작업은 발전소 MCR(Main Control Room)을 3D 데이터 모델링 후 가상현실화하고 MCR 내부를 Navigation 할 수 있도록 가상패널(Virtual Panel)을 개발 및 에에 대한 엔지니어링 데이터베이스환경을 작성하여 추후 정확하고 신속한 계기 정보를 얻을 수 있도록 하며 훈련생들이 시뮬레이터실로 가지 않고 MCR에서 발전소를 운전하는 것과 같은 효과를 강의실에서 얻을 수 있다. 또한 설계기준사고 중의 하나인 LOCA 사고 복구 훈련 시나리오를 통하여 실제와 동일한 복구 훈련을 하므로서 효율적이며 현장감있는 교육훈련 수행을 가능케 한다.

A Study on the Individual Wage Effect of Training (교육훈련의 경제적 성과 - 임금근로자를 중심으로 -)

  • This article tried to find out the individual wage effect of training. This Article used 1998, 1999 KLIPS(Korea Labor and Income Panel Study) panel data. The size of the individual wage effect of training was twice of tenure's, and had significance. Training had a good effect on the job satisfaction and carrier development. To overcome self selection bias, this article regressed the first difference of wage equations, but we didn't get the significant results. Dividing sample into quitters and non-quitters in order to investigate the relation between training cost and benefit, we regressed separately the each first difference of wage equation. On quitters, the individual effect of training appeared significantly, but on non-quitters, it didn't. This results mean that employer does not raise wage rate according to upgraded skill originated in incumbent's training. And the results also mean that the upgraded skill of employee who quit pre-employer is recognized by new employer, and his wage rate rises in his new job.

  • This study verified the effect of the experience of job-training on youth employees' wage by analyzing panal data. The study results showed that the objective of job-training(enhancing job performance, ${\beta}=.336$), satisfaction of job-training(${\beta}=.-.256$) and the type of job-training(cyber lecture, ${\beta}=.334$) significantly affected youth employees' wage. Also, age, education, marital status, hour of job-training, objective of job-training and satisfaction of job-training significantly affected the differences between groups. This study provided practical implication to prepare effective job-training policy by confirming the effect of the experience of job-training on youth employees' wage and verifying the effectiveness of job-training.

  • 한국노동패널조사(Korea Labor and Income Panel Study)는 비농촌지역에 거주하는 한국의 가구와 가구원을 대표하는 패널표본구성원(5,000가구에 거주하는 가구원)을 대상으로 1년에 1회 경제활동 및 노동시장 이동, 소득 활동 및 소비, 교육 및 직업훈련, 사회생활 등에 관하여 추적 조사하는 종단면 조사(longitudinal survey)이다. 매년 반복적인 조사를 통해 표본가구구성원들에 대한 다양한 내용의 정보를 수집하는 가운데 조사년수가 늘어가면서 표본가구원 개인들의 생애과정(Life Course)에 걸친 단계별 변화와 이동의 이력, 특히 학교교육력(Schooling History), 취업력(Work History) 혹은 노동시장이동(Labor Market Transitions) 과정이 구축될 수 있을 것이다. 조사구의 추출방법은 계통추출방법을 사용하였으며, 제주도를 제외한 전국의 시부만을 대상으로 1,000개의 조사구를 선정하고, 각 조사구내에서는 97년 고 3965;의 조사대상가구 중에서 5가구를 임의 선정(random sampling)하였다.다.

A Literature Review of the Influence of Education and Training on Organizational Performance: Focusing on Studies Using the Human Capital Enterprise Panel (HCCP) (교육훈련과 조직성과 간의 영향관계 문헌분석: 인적자본기업패널 (HCCP) 활용 논문을 중심으로)

  • This study attempted to examine the effect of education and training on organizational performance based on HCCP research through the systematic review of previous studies. For this, 29 papers used HCCP data were selected and analyzed, and the research results are as follows. First, the research results showed that education and training had a positive effect on non-financial performance such as organizational commitment and job satisfaction, and financial performance such as sales and operating profit. Second, in order for education and training to affect organizational performance, job satisfaction, organizational culture, and education transfer were found to be important factors. Third, for effective transfer of education and training, it is necessary to establish a system that can be applied to the field after education and training, finally, it suggested the need for research to be conducted to reveal the practical effectiveness of education and training by measuring the degree to which education and training contributed to financial performance more closely.

  • 화장품의 사용감은 개개인에 따라 다양한 기호를 나타내며 상대적이고 감성적인 개념들이 우선하게 된다. 이러한 관능특성들을 보다 객관적이며, 과학적으로 고찰하고자 하는 연구분야가 바로 관능평가이다. 본 연구에서는 메이크업 단계 중 베이스 메이크업에 속하는 제품인 파운데이션의 관능 특성을 보다 객관적이며 신뢰성 있게 평가, 분석하는 전문패널 평가 시스템을 구축하기 위하여 사내 여성을 대상으로 discriminative 및 descriptive 테스트를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 적합한 패널을 선정하였고 일정하게 규정된 일련의 교육과정들을 통해 패널을 훈련시킴으로써 베이스 메이크업 전문 패널 평가 시스템을 구축하였다. 그 후 파운데이션에 대해 질감별 제품을 평가하도록 한 후 이러한 방법으로 수집된 데이터를 신뢰성 있는 통계적 분석법을 이용하여 제품의 사용감 특성이 위치되니 2차원적 공간영역과 제품별 사용감의 특성을 분석하였다. 그 후 분석된 결과를 자사 브랜드 메이크업 라인의 파운데이션 제품에 응용하여 제품을 차별화 시키도록 설계하고 질감별 특징적 사용감과 적합한 특성강도를 제시한 후 이를 나타내는 처방의 제품을 결정하였다. 최종적으로 출시된 제품을 실제 소비자들을 통해 기호형 관능평가를 다시 한번 실시하였으며, 그 결과 실제 느끼는 사용감각 특성과 상품개발 계획 시 소구하고자 했던 관능특성이 일치하게 나타나 사용감 설계의 객관성을 검증하였다. 따라서, 본 연구는 이와 같은 결과를 통해 관능평가를 제품개발에 응용한 활용방안으로 보고자 하였다.

Sensory Preference of Soy Sauces used for Seasoning Soups and Cooked Mungbean Sprouts (국과 숙주나물에 사용된 간장의 기호도 조사)

  • Traditional and commercial soy sauces used for seasoning soups and cooked mungbean sprouts were evaluated for consumer preference. Table salt was included in sensory tests, because the consumer commonly used it for seasoning soups. Triangle tests with 30 trained panelists were used to evaluate differences between two soy sauces, and 9 point hedonic scale tests with 100 consumer panelists to evaluate the consumer preference. Taste of sea mustard, Chinese radish and dried pollack soups seasoned with the traditional soy sauce, commercial soy sauce for soup and table salt was significantly different. The consumer panel indicated that the commercial soy sauce for soup was most preferred and the traditional soy sauce least preferred. Taste of cooked mungbean sprouts seasoned with two sauces, prepared with either traditional or commercial soy sauces, was significantly different from each other, but the consumer panel could not detect the difference in preference.

Senior Workforce's Job Satisfaction: Focused on the Mediating Effect of Knowledge Sharing Practice (시니어 인력의 직무만족: 지식공유 활동의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This paper explores the relationship between senior workforce's education & training and job satisfaction. Further, the mediating effect of knowledge-sharing practice is also analyzed. We used 970 senior workforce's survey data from Human Capital Corporate Panel. Using structural equation modeling, the results suggest as follows. First, senior workforce's education & training had a positive effect on job satisfaction. Second, senior workforce's knowledge-sharing practice had a positive effect on job satisfaction. Third, a mediation analysis reveals that knowledge-sharing practice significantly mediates the relationship between education & training and job satisfaction. Several theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.

An Analysis of a Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction on the Relationship between Education and Training of Female Managers and Life Satisfaction (여성 관리자의 교육훈련과 삶의 만족의 관계에서 직무만족의 매개효과 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the relationships between education and training, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction for female managers and to analyze the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between education and training and life satisfaction. Statistical analysis was conducted on a total of 1,381 female managers using the data from the 6th Korean Women Manager Panel Survey. The results of the study were as follows. First, education and training had a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. Second, education and training had a significant positive impact on life satisfaction. Third, job satisfaction had a significant positive impact on life satisfaction. Fourth, job satisfaction had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between education and training and life satisfaction. Additional research on education, job satisfaction, and life relations of female workers is needed. In order to establish a virtuous cycle of education and training, work, and life for female managers, related government policies and systems need to be improved.
