  • Acculturation is caused with contact by two different cultures. This study investigates a cultural change of Gangwha society with Hagok confusianism influenced by implantation of methodism. At early periods methodism diffused rapidly and relocated toward marine routes. Lately hierarchical diffusion and contagious diffusion was typical, centering on the Gangwha Jungang Church. This successful acception was influenced with confusianism's acculturation. One of the reason why Gangwha people could accept the Christianity was reinterpretation and selective strategy by Hagok fraction that became one of confusinism, It seemed that several cultural elements of Hagok fraction was coincided with some elements of methodism. However, A methodist church transferred by clan's shrine, which family relationship was coerced, was split into it's members. This segregation other than social intergretation influenced establishment of a or more church per each village.

  • Despite recent changes in life style, the content called bookstore has steadily stood by our side, changing its shape. In this environment, This manuscript is a quantitatively empirical study that individual innovation affects a combined bookstore's service design factors and the user's intention to word of mouth. Researchers believed that individual innovation would affect a combined bookstore's service design factors. It was also assumed that there would be considerable causality between the combined bookstore's service design factors deduced through prior study. Furthermore, the assumption that these parameters would affect internal variables, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and satisfaction, word of mouth intentions was presented, and verified using An Integrated Model of Extended Technology Acceptance Model and Post Acceptance Model. Researchers expect that this research will contribute significantly in that it is a developer's approach to the combined bookstore that are seen as major tenants in large retail facilities.

  • Water soluble adhesive was polymerized from butyl acrylate (BA), methyl methacrylate (MMA) and one of various functional monomers such as acrylic acid (AA), 2-hydroxylethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA), glycidyl methacrylic acid (GMA) and acrylamide (AAm). The amount of the functional monomers was 1$\sim$5 wt%/monomer. In order to improve the adhesive power, a substrate was treated using atmospheric flat plasma method. The adhesive power was improved by the addition of the functional monomers with an order of AA> 2-HEMA> GMA> AAm. The holding power of the adhesives, which is related with the thermal properties of the adhesives, increased with the amount of the functional monomers. The effectiveness in improving the holding power has an order of AA > AAm > GMA > 2-HEMA. By treating a substrate with atmospheric flat plasma method, the adhesives containing each of AA, 2-HEMA, GMA and AAm showed the increases of the final adhesion strength by 9.1, 9.4, 9.4, and 1.8%, respectively. In conclusion, the mechanical properties such as adhesive power and holding power could be controlled by introducing.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the context of cosumers' lives in Korea with a narrative analysis method. The epistemological orientation of eh narrative analysis is Interpretivism, which blends the two polar philosophical perspectives, Empiricism and Rationalism, and includes Narrotology, Hermeneneutics, Semiotics, and Structural Criticism. Narrative analysis takes as its object of investigation the story itself. This study collects eleven narrative plots from four housewives, into which Labov's structural approach is applied. This study shows clearly that the socio-cultural environment in which consumers live has strong influence on their consumption behavior and also reveals that narrativization tells not only about past actions but how individuals understand those actions, that is, meaning.

  • This paper is consisted of the thesis that the decontextualized limitation of media cultural studeis in Korea should be overcome by walking into and linking with today's urban crisis and everyday life. It proposes us to become the flaneurs who do not hesitate to go to, think of, and experience actively the city in crisis under the capital/state domination. It's conclusion would be that we must practice participation observation at the fields and thus recover the critical element of cultural studies writing, by entering into the city and seeing at the features of crisis routinely expressed and symptomatically appear in there. For and before this, the author will first of all pay attention to John Fiske in later period, who was merely perceived and falsely regarded as an active audience theorist. He will also review de Certeau from whom Fiske has borrowed the concept of tactics, and Berman who has further practiced the very spatial tactic. The paper is prepared so as to expand the ideas and thoughts of them who have gone beyond the boundary of text, audience and onto the context of urban space. It's goal is much more than rescuing, recovering Fiske's alternative trajectory. It tries to reconstruct the tradition of urban media cultural studies critically connected with the dangerous, life-threatening capitalist condition. Furthermore, by filling up the theoretical vacuum left behind disconnected and cut away from Fiske, it attempts to find a vision, prospect of cultural studies that will actively engage themselves dialectally with dangerous yet hopeful life of the city and its popular masses.

  • The major purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors toward continuance intention in e-learning services. For this purpose, we introduced Post Acceptance Model(PAM) proposed by Bhattacherjee(2001) as basic analysis framework. Based on the relevant literature reviews, this study posits seven characteristics, that is, contents quality, interactivity, expectation confirmation, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, user satisfaction, and continuance intention as key variables to describe the post acceptance behavior in e-learning services. Data have been collected from users who have used e-learning services and the research model and hypotheses were tested through covariance structural model analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, contents quality, interactivity, and expectation confirmation have positive influence upon perceived usefulness. Second, contents quality, interactivity, expectation confirmation, and perceived ease of use have positive influence upon user satisfaction. Lastly, perceived usefulness have positive effect on the user satisfaction, and perceived usefulness and user satisfaction positively related to continuance intention in e-learning services. The findings have significant implications for e-learning service providers and academic researchers.

  • Smad proteins mediate transforming growth $factor(TGF)-{\beta}$ signaling and play a pivotal role in embryonic development. The estrogen receptor-related receptors(ERRs), which are structurally similar to estrogen receptors, are members of orphan nuclear receptor in the nuclear receptor superfamily and their functions are known to be involved in the formation of extra-embryonic ectoderm. To investigate the involvement of Smad3 and $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 in reproductive activities and embryogenesis in marine invertebrate, we examined gene expression of Smad3 and $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 in Strongylocentrotus nudus during their seasonal changes and embryonic development using real-time polymerase chain reaction. The Smad3 mRNA levels in gonad showed an increasing pattern from February to June 2004 but decreased at August(spawning season) followed by an elevation of the levels at October and December 2004. The mRNA levels of the $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 significantly elevated during the spawning season. During embryonic development, Smad3 mRNA levels at $8{\sim}16$ cell stages were significantly higher than those of other stages, whereas the mRNA of the $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 was significantly high levels at late development stages, i.e., blastular, gastrula and plutei stages. These results suggest that the Smad3 could be involved at least in part in the early cleavage stages and the $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 may play an important role in the spawning season and late developmental stage in the sea urchin.

  • This study aims to comparison of spatial composition that Okhojeong garden and Seokpajeong garden. Construct background and space structure in both of Okhojeong garden and Seokpajeong garden is analyzed. The results were as follows. First, Okhojeong garden and Seokpajeong garden of the nobles gardens in late Joseon dynasty. They had the advanced techniques of contemporary based on their political power and wealth, and therefore could built garden and enjoy the garden culture of the upper layer. Furthermore, composition of the Okhojeong garden can be assumed that it is related to construction of the Seokpajeong garden through analysis of the relationship between builders. Secondly, Space structure of Okhojeong garden and Seokpajeong garden is divided into pavilion unit of small gardens with living space as the center. Construction pavilion in each garden space imbues certain landscape theme. In addition, authorization of characteristics of a place in each area is attempted through boundary establishment and selective garden culture of varied seasonal landscape. Thirdly, In Seokpajeong garden, most of construction characteristics of Okhojeong garden are appeared. This indicates that Seokpajeong garden was affected by space-configuration-technique of Okhojeong garden such as acceptation or modification recreation. Fourth, In many cases, fanciers regarding floriculture are expanded to enthusiasts in late Joseon dynasty. In Okhojeong garden and Seokpajeong garden, herbaceous ornamental is considered to be precious and garden materials such as water tray, stone couch, oddly shaped stone, potted plant, artificial hill, wisteria trellis are diversified at the time.

  • In church tradition, cultural misappropriation has often legitimized unjust hierarchy rather than to challenge it. Under the rubric of culturalism, Christian Education has served to justify the oppressive system and maintain status quo as well. A feminist theologian, Rebecca Chopp argues that the contemporary Western culture has intensified narcissistic individualism and self-referentiality and has supported the powerful, while forced the marginalized to be silent. Chopp insists that the role, nature, and mission of Christianity is to provide Word and words of emancipatory transformation. She advocates poststructural feminist theology and aims at renewal of the socio-symbolic order in society by criticizing assumptions underneath language, culture and politics. In this study, we will review the interview with an Asian-American couple and disclose the underlying assumptions and hegemony which have contributed to maintain the male domineering system. I suggest that Christian education for emancipatory transformation should encourage the oppressed women to reflect critically the existing order and to restore their own voice through constructive intervention facilitating "plurivociy" and "problem-posing" dialogue. Proclaimation of transformative Word can empower the marginalized people to revision the world alternatives to monotheistic patriarchal modernism.

  • The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the late Heidegger's thought through commonality and differences with mystical thought. Heidegger embraces poetic and mystical elements in the process of overcoming traditional metaphysics and cognitive discourse and for exploring new meaning of Being. This study of mystical elements in his thought is important to present the uniqueness of the Heidegger's philosophy. This paper will not deal with mystical experiences or religious meanings, but with philosophical mysticism that reveals the fundamental connection between human and Being through thinking of Being itself. Here in connection with traditional mysticism the following topics will be discussed as mystical elements in the later Heidegger's thought: the Abyss of Being(Ab-grund), which go beyond conceptual reasoning and representational thinking(principle of ground); Lighting of Being(Lichtung), in which human and all Beings can be opened, and the Letting-be(Gelassenheit), which is gained not by any human accomplishment.
