A Fast Inversion Method for Interpreting Single-Hole Electromagnetic Data (단일 시추공 전자탐사 자료 해석을 위한 빠른 역산법)

  • A computationally efficient inversion scheme has been developed using the extended Born or localized nonlinear approximation to analyze electromagnetic fields obtained in a single-hole environment. The medium is assumed to be cylindrically symmetric about the borehole, and to maintain the symmetry vertical magnetic dipole source is used throughout. The efficiency and robustness of an inversion scheme is very much dependent on the proper use of Lagrange multiplier, which is often provided manually to achieve desired convergence. In this study, an automatic Lagrange multiplier selection scheme has been developed to enhance the utility of the inversion scheme in handling field data. The inversion scheme has been tested using synthetic data to show its stability and effectiveness.

Deriving Strategic Priorities of Green ICT Policy using AHP and ANP (AHP와 ANP 방법론을 이용한 그린 ICT 정책의 전략적 우선순위 도출 방안)

  • Recently, the world faces a global environmental crisis by the increase of energy consumption and global warming. Since the crisis directly affects political, economic, social, and environmental areas, many countries prepare Green ICT policy to overcome it. However, although Green IT policy provides many benefits by solving environmental pollution and increasing energy efficiency, Korean government did not prepare measures by the policy. The purpose of this study is to suggest priorities of political goals for maximizing the efficiency after introducing Green ICT policy in Korea. Major variables are drawn for the analysis, and they are eco-friendliness, technology evolution, economic efficiency, energy efficiency, and stable supply of energy. The variables are suggested based on 'Low Carbon, Green Growth Act', then the survey was conducted to policy expert using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and ANP(Analytic Network Process) for prioritizing variables. As a result of the AHP, it is derived in the order of eco-friendliness, technology evolution, economic efficiency, energy efficiency, and stable supply of energy. The ANP result shows in the order of technology evolution, energy efficiency, economic efficiency, eco-friendliness, and stable supply of energy. The research is conducted to analyze the priorities of goals for Green IT policy, and the analysis results are possible to use as a practical guideline for establishing associated policies in the future.

적층 발광구조를 이용한 청색 유기발광소자의 발광효율 증진 효과 이해

  • 유기발광소자는 빠른 응답속도, 높은 색재현성, 높은 명암비의 장점을 가지고 있어 차세대 디스플레이로 각광 받고 있으며, 이미 소형 디스플레이로 상용화되고 있다. 고효율과 색안정성을 가진 유기발광소자를 개발하기 위해 소자의 구조에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 청색 유기발광소자는 적색과 녹색 유기발광소자에 비해 낮은 신뢰성, 발광효율 및 색 순도의 문제점을 가지고 있어, 이를 개선하기 위한 다양한 연구가 필요하다. 청색 유기발광소자의 경우 발광층 내부로 주입되는 정공과 전자의 균형을 조절하기 위해 p-i-n 구조를 사용하거나 이리듐-유기물 합성물과 같은 인광물질의 적용하여 발광효율을 높이는 청색 유기발광소자에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 정공 보조층과 청색 형광층의 도핑구조의 청색 유기발광소자에 대한 발광효율 증진 효과에 관한 연구는 고효율 유기발광소자의 성능향상을 위하여 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 진공 열 박막 증착 방법을 이용하여 정공 보조층과 청색 형광층으로 구성된 적층 발광구조를 사용한 청색 유기발광소자의 발광효율 증진 효과를 관찰하였다. 10%의 2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthorlene (BCP)로 도핑된 2-methyl-9,10-bis (naphthalene-2-yl) anthracene (MADN)층을 발광층으로 사용한 유기발광소자, 5% MADN으로 도핑된 1, 3-bis (carbazol-9-yl) benzene (mCP) 층을 발광층으로 사용한 소자 및 10% BCP로 도핑 된 MADN 층과 5% MADN로 도핑된 mCP층을 혼합하여 발광층으로 사용한 유기발광 소자를 제작하였다. 유기 발광 소자의 전기적 광학적 특성을 비교하여 청색 유기발광소자의 발광효율 증가 효과를 규명하였다. 적층 발광층을 가지는 소자는 두 단일 발광층 중심부의 경계면에서 축적된 정공에 의해 발생한 공간 전하에 의한 내부 전위차이의 형성으로 발생된 인력으로 더 많은 전자들을 끌어 들이게 되어 발광효율을 증대시킨다. 이 실험의 결과는 MADN 형광물질을 가진 청색 유기발광소자의 발광효율을 증진 시키는 소자 구조를 제안하고 증진 효과에 대한 이해를 높이는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

An Analysis of the Productivity Changes of Korean Pharmaceutical Industry Using Bootstrapped Malmquist Index (Bootstrapped Malmquist 지수를 이용한 국내 의약품산업의 생산성 변화 요인 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study estimates the productivity change of pharmaceutical industry and decompose the change into technical efficiency change and technological change to explore ways to improve the productive efficiency. Unlike most previous studies, this study employs the non-radial and non-oriented slacks-based Malmquist productivity index which can deals directly with the input excesses and output shortfalls. In addition a smoothed bootstrap method is applied to estimate statistical confidence intervals for the Malmquist Index and its components. For the empirical analysis a balanced panel data set is constructed covering ten years over the period from 2005 to 2014. The input variables used in this study are number of workers, tangible assets and major production cost. The gross production is selected as a main output variable. The empirical results suggest that the productivity of pharmaceutical industry has decreased due mainly to decline in the technological progress rather than improvements in technical efficiency. An analysis result shows that the scale efficiency outweighs the pure efficiency in determining the technical efficiency of pharmaceutical industry. Therefore, in order to enhance the competitiveness of domestic pharmaceutical industry, it is important to continue supporting policies to promote the technology innovation capability through efficient R&D investment and industry reform strategy.

Micro-Study on Stock Splits and Measuring Information Content Using Intervention Method (주식분할 미시분석과 정보효과 측정)

  • In most of studies on market efficiency, the stability of risk measures and the normality of residuals unexplained by the pricing model are presumed. This paper re-examines stock splits, taking the possible violation of two assumptions into accounts. The results does not change the previous studies. But, the size of excess returns during the 2-week period before announcements decreases by 43%. The results also support that betas change around announcements and the serial autocorrelation of residuals is caused by events. Based on the results, the existing excess returns are most likely explained as a compensation to old shareholders for unwanted risk increases in their portfolio, or by uses of incorrect betas in testing models. In addition, the model suggested in the paper provides a measure for the speed of adjustment of the market to the new information arrival and the intensity of information contents.

  • Recent studies explore a wide array of desalination and water treatment methods, encompassing membrane processes such as reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), and electrodialysis (ED) to advanced capacitive deionization (CDI) and its membrane variant (MCDI). Comparative analyses reveal ED's cost-effectiveness in low-salinity scenarios, while hybrid systems (NF-MCDI, RO-NF-MCDI) show improved salt removal and energy efficiency. Novel ion separation methods (NF-CDI, NF-FCDI) offer enhanced efficacy and energy savings. These studies also highlight the efficiency of these methods in treating complex wastewater specific to various industries. Environmental impact assessments emphasize the need for sustainability in system selection. Additionally, the integration of microfabricated sensors into membranes allows real-time monitoring, advancing technology development. These studies underscore the variety and promise of emerging desalination and water treatment technologies. They provide valuable insights for enhancing efficiency, minimizing energy usage, tackling industry-specific issues, and innovating to surpass conventional method limitations. The future of sustainable water treatment appears bright, with continual advancements focused on improving efficiency, minimizing environmental impact, and ensuring adaptability across diverse applications.

Development of VOCs Treatment Technology using High Efficiency Hybrid System with Multi-Scrone (멀티 선회류식 세정장치를 이용한 고효율 하이브리드 VOCs 습식처리 SYSTEM 개발)

  • We studied to develop high-efficiency removal system of odor and VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds) from environmental infrastructure facilities and oil refineries, painting facilities and so on. It can replace RTO and RCO. We tried an removal experiment for VOCs (toluene, xylene, benzene, MEK(methyl ethyl ketone), ethanol, formalin etc. and odor compounds (hydrogen sulfide, etc.). In process, as pre-treatment we used the scrubber with vortex flow (Multi-scrone) to remove the hydrophilic VOCs and as post-treatment, used fibrous bio-filter to remove the hydrophobic VOCs. This hybrid system remove with high efficiency both the hydrophilic VOCs and hydrophobic VOCs. And we tried to make this system to be compact. In experiment using Multi-scrone, contact time is 2~3 seconds and absorption scrubbing water is diaphragm-type electrolysis water. hydrophilic VOCs like ethanol and relatively hydrophilic odor compounds like hydrogen sulfide is excellent, these substances has been removed almost completely, respectively 95~99%, 93~97%. And for MEK, formalin also Showed a high removal efficiency, respectively 78~90%, 72~85%. But in experiment using Multi-scrone, the hydrophobic VOCs like BTX showed a low removal efficiency, respectively 16~22%, 12~18%, 8~16%. In hydrophobic VOCs, toluene removal experiment using fibrous bio-filter, early efficiency was low but after 10days, adaptation period showed high efficiency 85~95%. but in the mixed phase, toluene and MEK efficiency reduced 5~10%. this show microorganism treat first MEK easy to remove. The removal efficiency for MEK using the fibrous biofilter was stable, 80~92%. This hybrid system is also high economical efficiency for RTO. This system reduce more than 50% the cost of equipment and maintenance. As a result, we expect this technology is in the limelight as high efficiency treatment of VOCs in mid-low price.
