The Effects of Rehabilitation Exercise Using a Home Video Game (PS2) on gait Ability of Chronic Stroke Patients (가정용 게임기를 이용한 재활운동이 뇌졸중 장애인의 보행 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • 본 연구는 가정용 게임기를 이용한 재활 운동을 적용하여 뇌졸중 장애인의 보행능력에 효과가 있는 가를 알아보고자 하였다. 뇌졸중으로 6개월 이상 장애를 가진 32명이 연구에 참여하였고 게임운동군 16명과 대조군 16명으로 나누었다. 게임운동군은 가정용 게임기(PS2, sony)를 이용하여 1시간씩 주 3회, 6주간 실시하였다. 대조군은 운동의 적용 없이 평상시 생활을 유지하도록 하였다. 운동 전과 후에 보행능력을 측정하여 효과를 비교하였다. 통계처리 방법으로 전 후 차이를 검증하기 위하여 대응표본 t 검정을 실시하였고 대조군과의 차이 검증을 위하여 독립표본 t 검정을 실시하였다. 모든 통계적 유의 수준은 0.05로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과 보행능력에서 10m 보행속도가 유의하게 증가하였고(p<.05), 6분 보행거리도 유의하게 증가하였다(p<.05). 결론적으로 가정용 게임기를 이용한 재활운동이 뇌졸중 장애인의 보행능력에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 뇌졸중 장애인에게 흥미를 유발하고 기능회복의 효과를 가진 게임형태의 재활운동이 다양하게 개발되어 적용하는 연구가 필요하다고 생각한다.

Study on the Wall Effect Correction for Propeller Open Water Characteristics in the Medium Size Cavitation Tunnel (중형 공동수조에서의 프로펠러 단독특성에 대한 위벽효과 보정 연구)

  • This paper studies the differences due to the wall effect in propeller open water(POW) characteristics tested in a towing tank and in a medium size cavitation tunnel(CT). When the advanced velocity of the propeller is defined as the flow velocity measured in the plane of propeller, POW characteristics resulting from CT has a better relationship with them of towing tank. To obtain the wall effect in the propeller plane, numerical computation using the lifting panel theory is performed with and without the wall around a propeller. Then, POW results in CT are corrected based on the wall effect from numerical results. The POW results obtained from this procedure show a better agreement with the experimental results in the towing tank.

Analytical Evaluation of Interference and Ratio of River Water at Riverbank Filtration Pumping Wells (강변여과 취수정의 간섭효과와 하천수 비율에 대한 해석적 평가)

  • River bank filtration techniques seek to improve river water quality via natural processes occurring when river water is induced to a river bank. When water is pumped from multiple wells, phenomenon known as well interference affect pumping rates. Pumping wells of a bank filtration facility are connected by pipelines. In theses cases well interference is caused not only by groundwater drawdown but also by pipe headloss which depend on flow rates. In this work a comprehensive analytical method which handles groundwater flow and pipe flow is used to evaluate interferences and ratios of river water in pumping wells. A realistic case was used as an example.

A Comparative Study on the Two Different Doses of Dexrazoxane (덱스라족산의 두 가지 다른 용량의 비교 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 anthracyclines의 심장 독성을 예방하기 위해 사용되는 dexrazoxane의 가장 적절하고 안전한 용량을 평가하고자 했다. 이 약물은 같은 적응증에도 불구하고 미국과 유럽에서 두 배 차이가 나는 용량으로 허가 받아 사용되고 있다. 그러므로 dexrazoxane의 anthracycline로 인한 심독성의 예방에 관한 논문을 찾아 dexrazoxane : doxorubicin = 20:1의 비율로 사용했을 경우와 10:1로 사용했을 때의 효과와 부작용을 비교하였다. 이 두 가지 용량으로 진행된 모든 임상 연구에서 dexrazoxane이 doxorubicin의 심독성 예방에 통계적으로 유효한 효과가 있다고 결론 내렸다. 또한 dexrazoxane의 추가 요법으로 인해 Tumor effect의 차이를 비교 분석한 결과, 두 가지 용량 모두에서 dexrazoxane이 doxorubicin의 항암 효과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 대부분의 연구에서 dexrazoxane의 약물 자체의 부작용은 분석하지 않았지만, dexrazoxane:doxorubicin을 20:1의 비율로 사용했던 한 연구에서 dexrazoxane군에서 부작용이 있음이 평가되었다. 반면, dexrazoxane의 용량을 doxorubicin 용량에 비해 10:1로 사용한 모든 연구는, 대상 환자군이 18세 이하의 소아 청소년으로 이 용량을 성인에게도 적용할 수 있는지에 대한 추가 연구가 필요하다. 그러나 항암제의 경우, 대부분 환자의 체표면적(BSA)을 기준으로 약용량을 결정하며, 이는 일반적으로 10세 이상이 되면 어른의 체표면적의 70% 정도가 된다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 통계적으로 충분한 수의 10세 이상의 소아, 청소년에게 doxorubicin으로 인한 심독성 예방 효과가 입증되었던 dexrazoxane: doxorubicin을 10:1의 용량으로 사용하여도 임상적인 효과를 기대 할 수 있으며, 이 용량은 dexrazoxane 자체의 유해반응도 감소시킬 수 있을 것이라고 결론 맺는다.

Flow regime change and regulation effect at the Paldang Dam due to multi-purpose dams in the Han River basin (한강유역의 상류 다목적댐 운영에 따른 팔당댐 유황 변화 및 조절효과 분석)

  • 한강유역의 다목적댐인 소양강댐, 충주댐, 횡성댐의 운영이 하류부에 미치는 조절효과를 분석하기 위해 3개의 다목적댐이 모두 운영되고 있는 현재의 유역상황과 소양강댐, 충주댐, 횡성댐이 각각 없을 경우를 가정하여 시나리오별로 팔당댐 지점에서 유황곡선 차이를 검토함으로써, 3개 다목적댐의 조절효과를 정량적으로 분석하였다. 각 시나리오별 유출분석시 소양강댐, 충주댐, 횡성댐의 운영이 이루어질 경우에는 각 댐의 방류량 자료가 모형에 고려되도록 하였으며, 반대로 댐 운영이 이루어지지 않을 경우에는 각 댐의 유입량 자료가 모형에 반영되도록 하였다. 또한, 북한강 본류구간에 위치한 의암댐과 청평댐에 대해서는 발전용댐이기 때문에 유입량이 모두 방류되는 것으로 가정하여 적용하였다. 분석기간은 횡성댐의 자료 기간을 고려하여 2001~2009년을 선정하였으며, 시나리오별 각 댐의 조절효과를 정량화하기 위해 하류부인 팔당댐 지점에서의 유황곡선 차이를 계산하여 비교하는 방법을 이용하였다. 소양강댐 운영에 따른 팔당댐 지점에서의 조절유량은 약 10.3억$m^3$이며 조절기간은 304일로 분석되었고, 충주댐 운영에 따른 조절유량은 약 11.9억$m^3$에 조절기간은 336일, 횡성댐 운영에 따른 조절유량은 약 0.53억$m^3$에 조절기간은 303일로 분석되었다. 3개 다목적댐이 모두 운영될 경우의 유황 조절효과는 약 22.5억$m^3$에 333일로 분석되었다.

Antihypertensive Effects of Casein Hydrolysate in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats (자연발증고혈압쥐에서 카제인 가수분해물의 혈압강하효과)

  • The aim of this study was to determine if a low-molecular weight casein hydrolysate has an anti- hypertensive effect in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Prior to the in vivo experiment, the casein hydrolysate was confirmed to be resistant to gastrointestinal digestion by confirming the retention of its potency as an inhibitor of angiotensin I-concerting enzyme after incubation with pepsin, trypsin, or chymotrypsin. The in vivo anti-hypertensive effect of the hydrolysate was determined by the tail cuff method. Following an oral administration of the hydrolysate solution, the systolic blood pressure (SBP) decreased by 12.9% (-28.9mmHg; P<0.05) at 3 h after the administration at a dose of 500mg/kg body weight. When the hydrolysate was administered as an emulsion with 30% egg yolk, its anti-hypertensive effect was even more greater at the same dose(-30.8mmHg or -15.9%; P<0.01). In a 50-day long-term trial where the casein hydrolysate was administered once a day, the SBP-lowering effect of the hydrolysate was apparent (P<0.05) from day 35 through the end. Moreover, organ weights and plasma glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase and glutamate pyruvate transaminase activities of the administered SHR were not significantly different from those of controls at the end of the long-term trial.

Cognitive Ability Enhancement Effects in Rats by B. mori Fibroin Enzymatic Hydrolysate (견 피브로인 효소 가수분해물의 동물 인지기능 향상 효과)

  • We were investigated the cognitive ability enhancement in rats using B. mori fibroin molecular controlled hydrolysate by preparative recycle HPLC system. Also, some of its physicochemical properties and free amino acid components were investigated, too. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrum are measured different pattern between high (HF) and low (LF) molecular controlled B. mori fibroin samples, respectively. The in vitro test by neuron primary cell culture are showed dependent on molecular weight (Mw) of B. mori fibroin in the order of LF > MF > HF, too. However, the memorial effects in rats by in vivo test are large dependent molecular weight on that maximum 50% than control. Also, the memorial effect was higher than the enzymatic relative and acid hydrolysate, which was 50.0$\pm$2.1 and 25.9$\pm$0.32%, respectively.

Development of Functional Mixed Drink using Extract of Hericium erinacium Cultivated with Artemisia capillaris and Black Garlic (인진쑥을 기질로 한 노루궁뎅이버섯 균사체 배양물과 흑마늘을 이용한 기능성 혼합음료 개발)

  • In this study, we examined the hepatocyte toxicity and protective effects of an extract of Hericium erinacium cultivated with Artemisia capillaris (HEAC), and also examined the hepatocyte protective and antioxidative effects of a mixture of the HEAC and black garlic. At a concentrations of more than 0.05 mg/mL, the HEAC extract significantly reduced cell viability. The extract of HEAC treated with the same ratio of water and ethanol at $80^{\circ}C$ showed the highest hepatocyte protective effect. No significant difference in the hepatocyte protective effect was observed between the mixtures of HEAC with and without black garlic. In addition, higher antioxidative activity was shown with the addition of less black garlic. As a result of the sensory evaluation, a significant difference of sweetness was observed with varying liquid fructose concentration, but there were no significant differences in bitterness, flavor, thickness and overall acceptability according to the liquid fructose concentration.

Antioxidant Activity and In Vitro Protein Digestibility of Bakery Products prepared from Korean Wheat with Functional Ingredients (기능성 소재를 첨가한 우리밀 제빵 제품의 항산화 활성과 단백질 소화도)

  • Cookies, muffins and baguettes were formulated with Korean wheat flour and compared with those made from imported wheat flour in terms of total phenol content, antioxidant activity, and in vitro protein digestibility (IVPD). Chunnyencho and Honghawsi were added to improve quality of the bakery products. Addition of Chunnyencho did not show any significant improvement, whereas Honghawsi increased total phenol content of cookies. Total phenol content in 80% ethanol extract of muffins prepared with Korean wheat flour was 1.5 times higher than those made from imported wheat flour, whereas total phenol content was 1.2 times higher in the 80% methanol extract of baguettes prepared with imported wheat flour compared to those made with Korean wheat flour. Overall, total phenol content of Korean wheat flour was higher than that of imported wheat flour because total phenol content was higher in 80% ethanol extracts than in 80% methanol extracts. Antioxidant activity was not significantly different between ethyl acetate extracts of bakery products from imported wheat and Korean wheat, whereas antioxidant activity of 80% methanol extract of muffins with Korean wheat was 2.4 times higher than that from imported wheat. IVPD was not significantly different in any bakery products made from imported wheat or Korean wheat but was higher in baguettes than cookies or muffins. Conclusively, bakery products made from Korean wheat had higher total phenol content and antioxidant activity than imported wheat.

The Effects of Project Method on Children's Academic Achievement on the Unit of Growing Flowers and Vegetables in Practical Arts (초등학교 실과 '꽃과 채소 가꾸기' 단원에서 프로젝트법이 학업 성취도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of learning achievement by comparing project approach group and the control group on the unit of growing flowers and vegetables in practical arts education. For this purpose, the experimental study on the unit of growing flowers and vegetables was achieved with 63 students(5th grade 2 classes) in S elementary school. The project approach model (Chung, Sung-bong) was applied to the experimental group, and the traditional model to the control group. To verify the effects of each class, nonequivalent control group post test-only design was applied 10 times. The SPSSWIN(ver 12. 0. 1) was used for analyzing the frequency and t-tests. The results of this study were as follows ; First, there was significant effect of learning achievement(cognitive domain) in the project approach groups. In addition, learning achievement of the experimental group has been showed significant difference about intellectual function and ability but not about knowledge. Second, there was significant effect of learning achievement(psychomotor domain) in the project approach groups. In other words, there has been showed significant difference in basic skill and integrated skill for growing flowers and vegetables but not in elemental skill for planting. Third, as the post test, there existed significant effect(affective domain) in the project approach groups. In other words, there was a meaningful difference in acceptance, value, belief, actualization but not in interest. Based on these results, It is believed that the project approach model in the unit of 'growing flowers and vegetables' is more effective than the traditional learning method in learning achievement of learners' cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain.
