  • The rotational reorientation times of rhodamine 6G molecule were measured using a time-correlated single photon counting method. To explain the deviation of observed rotational reorientation times in alcohol solvents from the prediction of hydrodynamic model, the contribution of dielectric friction was considered. And the values of transition dipole moments in ground and excited states were estimated through the dielectric friction and the static spectroscopic data.

  • 진공청소기는 가전 제품 중에서 인간의 일상생활에서 꼭 필요한 가전제품의 하나이다. 그러나, 성능 향상을 위한 과도한 회전 속도 때문에 큰 소음을 유발하며 그로 인해서 사용자에게 소음으로 인한 스트레스나 피로누적 등의 큰 불편을 초래하고 있다. 이것은 진공청소기내에 있는 팬 모터가 30000∼35000 rpm으로 고속회전을 통해서 측에 연결되어 있는 임펠러를 회전시켜 공기를 흡입, 배출시키는 일련의 작동을 하면서 여러 가지 진동 및 유체소음을 일으키기 때문이다. 이러한 진공청소기용 팬모터의 소음 저감 연구는 국내외 관련회사 및 연구소에서 활발히 진행되고 있다.(중략)

Numerical Modeling for Behavior Prediction of the Magnetic Fluid Based on Finite Element Method (유한요소법을 이용한 자성유체의 거동예측을 위한 수치적 모델링)

  • The objective of this study is numerically analyzed the behavior characteristics of the magnetic fluid in a closed rectangular container using finite element method (FEM). The governing equations are solved with magnetization and Maxwell equations for consideration of rotating effect of the magnetite particle. Then the discretized equations are solved with boundary conditions of the velocity and temperature. The developed model is validated with the results of Davis (1983) and Fusegi et al. (1991) has a good agreement within 5.5 % and 2.7 %, respectively.

  • 유체(기체, 액체, 분체)를 수송할 경우 유량조정이 필요할 때가 많다. 이와같은 경우 일반적으로 채용되고 있는 제어방법은 댐퍼나 베인에 의한 개개제어이다. 그런데 제어범위가 넓을 경우에는 손실이 증가하며 효율은 대폭 저하한다. 여기에서는 송풍기의 예를 들어 이 이유를 생각하고 이에따라 회전수제어를 채용하면 왜 생에너지가 되는가를 공부하고져 한다.

  • The present study conducts CFD analyses on the internal flow fields of roots type vacuum pumps of semiconductor fabrication facility, and the computed CFD results for internal pressure and temperature distributions are applied to structural analyses of the pumps. The coupled analysis results between flow and structure show that the deformation of pump structure is mainly resulted from the thermal expansion of gas in pump, and the deformed impeller and housing produce their severe contact and impact phenomena causing mechanical damage and fracture.

  • numerical study on the coupled fluid-structure for a rotor blade in hover was conducted. Computational fluid dynamics code with enhanced wake-capturing capability is coupled with a simple structural dynamics code based on Euler-Bernoulli's beam equation. The numerical results show a reasonable blade structural deformation and aerodynamic characteristics.

  • We study the characteristics of airflow and sound noise induced by disk rotation in optical disk drives. The characteristics of airflow around a rotating disk surrounded by various tray structures are numerically investigated using a commercial CFD program and then compared with experimental results. Sound pressure and intensity caused by the fluid-structure interactions in the CD/DVD-ROM drive are measured, and the effect of the ariflow on the sound noise and disk vibration is discussed. In order to reduce airflow-induced noise and vibration around the rotating disk, tray geometry is modified. Both numerical and experimental studies implemented with different tray models show that the improved tray model alters the characteristics of the disk-induced airflow, causing the reduction of the airflow-induced sound level.

  • Recently, it is required to design higher stage pressure ratio compressor while maintaining equal adiabatic efficiency. To increase the stage pressure ratio, blade rotational speed or diffusion factor should be increased. In the case of increasing rotational speed, relative speed of flow at blade leading edge is well supersonic. In supersonic blade, total pressure loss is mainly due to shock wave and blade leading edge thickness should be very thin to minimize the shock wave loss. As a result, the blade is like to be week in terms of mechanical strength and the manufacturing cost is very high because NC machining is necessary. It is also one of big hurdle to overcome to make small compressor. In this paper, the effects of blade leading edge to the performance of supersonic blade In terms of total pressure loss. The efficiency of already known method to make thin blade leading edge from the casted blade with rather thick leading edge thickness is also assessed.
