Route Map Visualization method for Mobile Handset Environment (모바일 핸드셋 환경을 위한 라우트맵 시각화 방안)

  • 본 논문은 모바일 핸드셋이라는 제한적인 디스플레이 환경과 입력환경에서 필요한 라우트맵의 시각화에 따른 문제점과 그 해결방안을 제시한 논문이다. 자동차 네비게이션 시스템에서 널리 사용되는 경로표시 방법은 일반적으로 노트북이나, PDA, 전용 디스플레이 시스템등에서 구현되어 있으나, 모바일 핸드셋과 같이 제한된 디스플레이 환경에서의 경로표시 방법은 현재까지 많은 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 논문은 인간의 인식능력이 임의의 경로를 회전방향점(turning point)의 연속으로 인식한다는 점에 착안하여 원래의 경로가 가진 축적을 변형하여 선분과 회전방향점으로 경로를 표시하는 라인 드라이브 시스템을 모바일 환경의 경로표시 방법으로 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 GIS의 벡터 정보를 가지고 있는 서버와 Brew 플랫폼을 지원하는 모바일 핸드셋으로 구성된다. GIS 서버는 프로토타입 정보를 추출하여 모바일 핸드셋으로 전송하고, 이러한 정보는 모바일 핸드셋의 Brew 플랫폼에서 간략화, 도식화 과정을 거쳐서 시각화된다. 본 논문은 제한된 디스플레이 환경의 경로 확대표시를 위하여 계층별 경로 시각화 방법을 사용하여 가독성을 높이고 사용상의 편리함을 추구한다.

A Study on the Obstacle-Avoidance Walking Algorithm of a Biped Robot (이족보행로봇의 장애물극복 보행알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In the paper, an intelligent biped walking robot that can overcome the obstacle is developed. Walking algorithms are designed based on the analysis of the human's manner of walking. Infrared sensors are used to detect the obstacles in the working environment and the remote controller of the biped robot use a RF module. The experiment results show that the developed biped walking robot can perform the stable static walking, attention walking, rotation and side stepping to avoid the obstacle, and hurdling the obstacle using the distance correction algorithm that is designed based on the distance information between the biped robot and the obstacle.

Cyclic Seismic Performance of Reduced Beam Section Steel Moment Connections: Effects of Panel Zone Strength and Beam Web Connection (패널존 강도 및 보 웨브 접합방식이 RBS 철골 모멘트접합부의 내진거동에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 8개의 RBS (reduced beam section) 내진 철골모멘트접합부의 실물대 실험결과를 요약한 것이다. 본 실험의 주요변수는 보 웨브 접합법 및 패널존 강도를 택하였다. 균형 패널존 시험체는 접합부의 내진성능을 감소시키지 않으면서, 보와 패널존이 함께 균형적으로 지진에너지를 소산시키도록 설계하여 값비싼 패널존보강판(doubler plates)의 수요를 줄이고자 시도한 것이다. 보 웨브를 용접한 시험체는 모두 특별 연성모멘트골조에서 요구되는 접합부 회전능력을 충분히 발휘하였다. 반면 보 웨브를 볼트접합한 시험체는 조기에 스캘럽을 가로지르는 취성파단이 발생하는 열등한 성능을 보였다. 보 그루브 용접부 자체의 취성파괴가 본 연구에서와 같이 양질의 용접에 의해 방지되면, 스켈럽 부근의 취성파단이 다음에 해결해야 할 문제로 대두되는 경향을 보인다. 보 웨브를 볼팅한 경우에 접합부 취성파단의 빈도가 월등히 높은 이유를 실험 및 해석결과를 토대로 제시하였다 측정된 변형도 데이터에 의할 때, 접합부의 전단력 전달메카니즘은 흔히 가정하는 고전 휨이론에 의한 예측과 전혀 다르다. 이는 전통적 보 웨브 설계법을 재검토할 필요가 있음을 시사하는 것이다. 아울러, 본 연구의 제한된 실험자료 및 접합부에서 요구되는 바람직한 거동기준을 근거로 균형 패널존의 강도범위에 대한 예비적 추정치를 제시하였다.

Effect of Tension, Compression and Lateral Reinforcement In Ductility Ratio in RC Flexural Members (철근콘크리트 휨 부재에서 인장, 압축 및 횡보강근이 연성률에 미치는 효과)

  • The ductility capacity should be estimated for inelastic analysis and design of reinforced concrete flexural members. Therefore, to estimate the ductility capacity, the model of moment-curvature relationship of reinforced concrete flexural member is assumed in this study. The curvature, rotation, and displacement(deflection) of reinforced concrete cantilever beams are analyzed and tested. The analytical results are compared with the test results. According to the analytical and test results, the assumed model of moment-curvature relationship in this study is adequate in flexural analysis of reinforced concrete members because the analytical results are well agreed with the test results, and it is resonable to express the ductility capacity in the rotation or displacement ductility, Because the curvature ductility is the limited index in a certain section. It is investigated that the ductility capacity is proportional to lateral reinforcement and compression reinforcement and inversely proportional to tension reinforcement.

A Study on Optimizing the Clutter Rejection Capability for a High-Speed Scanning MTI-Pulse Radar (고속 스캔 MTI 펄스 레이더의 지형 클러터 제거 능력 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • To reject the Doppler frequency spectrum dispersion of clutter caused by high-speed antenna rotation of MTI radar system due to terrain characteristics, signal processing parameters(MTI filter constant, M/N detector ration, K-factor and offset of CFAR) are adjusted for the optimal elimination of the ground clutter. For this investigation, logging equipment is designed and utilized for the collection of classified ground clutter data. Test case is devised through Matlab simulation for the classified analysis and optimization of clutter rejection. Then indoor radar test and outside test in accordance with terrain characteristics are repeatedly performed for the verification of the test. This whole process is through the evolutional development model and repeated for the optimization. Final result is that ground-clutter rejection capability is 5.6 times(7.5 dB) better than that of existing radar system.

Effect of Dynamic Tubing Gait Training for Life-Care on Balance of Stroke Patients (라이프케어 증진을 위한 동적탄력튜빙 보행훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study investigated the effects of dynamic tubing gait (DTG II) program on the balancing ability for the promotion of life care of patients with chronic stroke. In the study, 25 sessions of DTG II program (30 minutes per session, 5 sessions per week, for a total of 5 weeks) were applied to 10 patients with chronic stroke. To determine the effects of DTG II program for improving balance, surface electromyography(external oblique, erector spinae, iliopsoas, gluteus maximus), symmetry index test on three pelvic axes, and dynamic gait index test were performed before and after the intervention. The results showed statistically significant differences between preand post-intervention measurements of the gluteus maximus muscle at early and mid-stance phases(p<.05). The pelvic symmetry index differed significantly between pre- and post-intervention measurements of diagonal and rotational movement(p<.05). Comparison of dynamic gait index also showed statistically significant differences between pre- and post-intervention measurements(p<.05). Based on these findings, it was determined that the DTG II program was able to improve the balancing ability of patients with chronic stroke by activating their trunk muscles and improving the symmetry of diagonal pelvic movement and rotation. Therefore, DTG II program is recommended as an interventional method to improve life-care through improving the balancing ability of patients with chronic stroke.

Two-Dimensional Shape Description of Objects using The Contour Fluctuation Ratio (윤곽선 변동율을 이용한 물체의 2차원 형태 기술)

  • In this paper, we proposed a contour shape description method which use the CFR(contour fluctuation ratio) feature. The CFR is the ratio of the line length to the curve length of a contour segment. The line length means the distance of two end points on a contour segment, and the curve length means the sum of distance of all adjacent two points on a contour segment. We should acquire rotation and scale invariant contour segments because each CFR is computed from contour segments. By using the interleaved contour segment of which length is proportion to the entire contour length and which is generated from all the points on contour, we could acquire rotation and scale invariant contour segments. The CFR can describes the local or global feature of contour shape according to the unit length of contour segment. Therefore we describe the shape of objects with the feature vector which represents the distribution of CFRs, and calculate the similarity by comparing the feature vector of corresponding unit length segments. We implemented the proposed method and experimented with rotated and scaled 165 fish images of fifteen types. The experimental result shows that the proposed method is not only invariant to rotation and scale but also superior to NCCH and TRP method in the clustering power.

An Object Tracking Method using Stereo Images (스테레오 영상을 이용한 물체 추적 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new object tracking system using stereo images to improve the performance of the automatic object tracking system. The existing object tracking system has optimum characteristics, but it requires a lot of computation. In the case of the image with a single eye, the system is difficult to estimate and track for the various transformation of the object. Because the stereo image by both eyes is difficult to estimate the translation and the rotation, this paper deals with the tracking method, which has the ability to track the image for translation for real time, with block matching algorithm in order to decrease the calculation. The experimental results demonstrate the usefulness of proposed system with the recognition rate of 88% in the rotation, 89% in the translation, 88% in various image, and with the mean rate of 88.3%.

Analytical Models of Beam-Column joints in a Unit Modular Frame (단위 모듈러 구조체의 보-기둥 접합부 해석 모델)

  • Recently, modular structural systems have been applicable to building construction since they can significantly reduce building construction time. They consists of several unit modular frames of which each beam-column joint employs an access hole for connecting unit modular frames. Their structural design is usually carried out under the assumption that their load-carrying mechanism is similar to that of a traditional steel moment-resisting system. In order to obtain the validation of this assumption, the cyclic characteristics of beam-column joints in a unit modular frame should be investigate. This study carried out finite element analyses(FEM) of unit modular frames to investigate the cyclic behavior of beam-column joints with the structural influence of access holes. Analysis results show that the unit modular frames present stable cyclic response with large deformation capacities and their joints are classified into partial moment connections. Also, this study develops a simple spring model for earthquake nonlinear analyses and suggests the Ramberg-Osgood hysteretic rule to capture the cyclic response of unit modular frames.

Analysis of the Mathematically Gifted 6th and 7th Graders' Spatial Visualization Ability of Solid Figures (입체도형에 대한 $6{\sim}7$학년 수학영재들의 공간시각화 능력 분석)

  • This research aims to look into the mathematically gifted 6th and 7th graders spatial visualization ability of solid figures. The subjects of the research was six male elementary school students in the 6th grade and one male middle school student in the 1th grade receiving special education for the mathematically gifted students supported by the government. The task used in this research was the problems that compares the side lengths and the angle sizes in 4 pictures of its two dimensional representation of a regular icosahedron. The data collected included the activity sheets of the students and in-depth interviews on the problem solving. Data analysis was made based on McGee's theory about spatial visualization ability with referring to Duval's and Del Grande's. According to the results of analysis of subjects' spatial visualization ability, the spatial visualization abilities mainly found in the students' problem-solving process were the ability to visualize a partial configuration of the whole object, the ability to manipulate an object in imagination, the ability to imagine the rotation of a depicted object and the ability to transform a depicted object into a different form. Though most subjects displayed excellent spatial visualization abilities carrying out the tasks in this research, but some of them had a little difficulty in mentally imagining three dimensional objects from its two dimensional representation of a solid figure.
