Analysis of Temperature Distribution of Solid and Gas in the Rotary Cooler (회전냉각기에서 고체와 가스의 온도분포해석)

  • Heat transfer occurring in the rotary cooler was analyzed by applying a one-dimensional steady state. The temperature of inlet gas and the measured temperature of outlet gas were used as boundary conditions. Axial temperature distribution of solid, gas and wall were calculated by solving two differential equations and two algebraic equations under the constraint of two point boundary conditions and operating conditions. The temperatures of outer wall calculated in this study were in good agreement with those measured from running rotary cooler.

  • A fundamental study on the cooling apparatus inshore fishing boat and its operation characteristics in sea water cooling system were performed experimentally. The circumstance is giving the blow against fisherman with incoming-decreasing and the difficulty of crew's supply and demand and management. In addition, the depression of the external situation such as the plan of EEZ(Exclusive Economic Zone) proclaim is forcing them into improving their fishing condition. By this international and domestic surrounding, the development of a cooling apparatus inshore fishing boat is demanded sincerely. We investigated load characteristics as the pilot plant operation characteristics estimation which is based on the development of cooling system and optimum cooling apparatus inshore fishing boat. These results provide useful informations which are applicable to an actual design and show the possibility of application to other fields.

A Study on Cooling Condition for Quality Improvement of Rotary Molding Machine (회전성형기의 품질 향상을 위한 냉각 조건에 관한 연구)

  • The molding for hollow products used widely in industry is rotational molding by heating and cooling. Uniform cooling is required to improve the quality of the product, and rapid cooling is required to improve the productivity. In this paper, the cooling condition is largely classified into the case of no forced cooling by the fan and forced cooling by the fan. In addition, when forced cooling by the fan is not performed, the condition for stopping the molding machine horizontally and the condition for stopping the molding machine vertically were classified. To confirm the forced cooling by the fan, the conditions were set such that only the molding machine rotates while the fan is not running and the upper and lower fans operate when only the lower fan is operated. The surface temperature of the rotary molding machine was analyzed by the STAR-CCM+ program for the case of air-cooling. The temperature distribution of the rotary molding machine was analyzed for five conditions and the temperature distribution for cooling was compared under each condition. Among the five cases, Case 4 was lowest at approximately 35 ℃ after 900sec.

Optimization of the Scraper Speed and Improvement of the Refrigerant Path for the Evaporator of the Soft Ice Cream Machine (소프트 아이스크림 제조기 증발기의 스크레이퍼 회전수 최적화 및 냉매 유로 개선)

  • Improvements in the standard of living and lifestyle have led to increased sales of frozen milk products, such as soft ice cream or slush. These frozen milk products are commonly made in a small refrigeration machine. In a soft ice cream machine, the freezer is composed of a concentric cylinder, where the refrigerant flows in the annul us and the ice cream is made in the cylinder by a rotating scraper. In this study, an optimization and performance evaluation were conducted on a soft ice cream machine having a freezer volume of 2.8 liters. The optimization was focused on the scraper rotation speed and the refrigerant path of the freezer. The measurements included the temperature, pressure and consumed power. At the optimized speed of 124 rpm, ice cream was produced in 6 minutes and 2 seconds, and the COP was 0.90. Through a flow visualization study using air-water, the refrigerant path was improved. The improved design reduced the ice cream making time significantly. The present results may be used for the optimization of other refrigeration cycles, including those of frozen food products.

Characteristics of Capacity Control of Variable Speed Water Cooler with the Electronic Expansion Valve Open/Close Degree (전자팽창밸브 개도에 따른 가변속 수냉각기의 용량제어 특성)

  • The paper presents the characteristics of capacity control of variable speed water cooler with the electronic expansion valve open/close degree. It is a preliminary study on the optimum control of the water cooler system using a variable speed compressor controlled by inverter. The electronic expansion valve controlled by the variation of compressor speed maintains the constant degree of superheat at the evaporator outlet, which aims to find the degree of superheat obtaining the optimum refrigeration effect. The investigation indicates that there is a point achieving the maximum cooling capacity by the variation of the electronic expansion valve open/close degree with constant compressor speed.

  • 전력계통에서의 발전, 송변전, 배전의 각각에 대한 에너지절약 및 이용 합리화를 미쓰비시(삼릉)전기는 여러 방면에서 노력하고 있으며, 여기서는 전력기기에 대한 그간의 노력에 대하여 기술한다. 발전에 관해서는 공기냉각과 수소냉각 터빈발전기의 효율 향상으로 성(省)에너지화를 지향하고 있다. 동사에서는 세계 최대급의 공기냉각 터빈발전기를 제작하여 수소냉각기와 거의 동등한 높은 효율을 얻고 있다. 송변전에 대해서는 전력용 대형 변압기의 본체 체적 축소, 신(新)절연구조의 채용으로 대형변압기의 설치면적을 반감시키고 손실저감도 실현시킬 수 있었다. 성숙기종으로 생각되는 분야에 대해서도 새로운 발상으로 더욱 개선해 나갈 계획이다. 배전분야에 대해서는 전력의 합리적 사용이나 고효율 변압기의 채용에 의한 전력삭감 등 필요성이 재검토되고 있다. 동사에서는 배전설비 구성의 일익을 담당하는 손실이 극히 적은 수퍼 고효율 유입변압기를 개발, 배전분야에서 활용되고 있다. 성(省)에너지를 위한 발전기의 응용 예의 하나로 자연에너지를 이용하는 풍력발전을 들 수 있다. 동사가 개발하여 실용화되고 있는 풍력발전기는 회전자 자극(磁極)에 영구자석을 사용한 동기발전기를 사용하고 있어, 여자장치나 기어기구가 불필요하여 전기적, 기계적인 손실을 경감시키고 있다.

  • Generally, automobile cooling fan is used to lower the temperature of radiator. The cooling fans are manufactured by plastic injection molding process. The center of gravity of cooling fan is often deviated from the center because of the use of deteriorated materials. As the unbalance of the cooing fan can generate noise, it is required to test the performance of the cooling fans. In this work, automatic fan balancer which can distinguish between the good and the bad, futhermore idenfify the position and magnitude of unbalance is develpoed.

  • 터어보과급 디이젤 엔진의 저속 및 급가속영역에서 발생하는 매연의 배출을 억제하기 위하여 흡 입 공기량을 증가시키는 방안으로서 흡기관의 동적효과를 이용하기 위한 통합과급 시스템을 개발 하였다. 동조회전수에 있어서 음향임피던스 방법에 의하여 공명흡기관의 칫수를 결정하였고 흡입 공기 냉각기를 부착하여 전 회전영역에서의 흡입공기 밀도비를 증가시켰다. 기존 엔진을 변형한 두가지 시스템을 설계하여 성능측정을 하였으며, 이들에 대한 비교 및 실용성에 관해 자세히 언 급하였다.

  • 본 연구는 새로운 부하(고온의 저장물)가 냉장실 내부에 인입됨에 따라 발생하는 온도불균형을 해소하기 위해 채택된 집중냉각 방식에 있어서의 회전날개의 정지각도 결정 알고리즘 관한 것으로, 특히 냉장실내의 온도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 압축기 (Compressor) 및 냉기팬(냉기를 냉장실내에 불어넣기 위한 팬)의 운전상황을 입력으로 냉장실내 여러 영역에서의 온도를 추정하는 퍼지적응모델을 이용하여 온도불균형 영역을 검지하고, 이에 따라 회전날개의 각도를 제어함으로서 냉장실 내부의 온도평형을 신속히 이루게하는 특징을 가지고 있다.

Effects of regenerator and cooler on the cooling performance of a vuilleumier cycle heat pump (재생기 및 냉각기가 VM열펌프의 냉방성능에 미치는 영향)

  • An experimental study has been carried out to investigate the effects of the combination of the different wire mesh number in a regenerator and the tube number in a cooler on the cooling performance of a Vuilleumier cycle heat pump. Effects of operating conditions, such as charging pressure, operating speed, and heat input, on the cooling performance are also studied. The experimental results obtained indicate that the cooling performance could be improved with the proper combination of different wire meshes in a regenerator. More tubes in a cooler are desirable for better cooling performance. It is also found that the cooling capacity is enhanced, whereas COP is reduced with an increase in the heater tube temperature and the revolution speed. Both the cooling capacity and COP are incereased with a higher charging pressure.
