A Study on the Content Utilization of KISTI Science and Technology Information Service (KISTI 과학기술정보서비스의 콘텐츠 활용 분석)

  • The Science and Technology Information Service provided by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) is a service designed to allow users to easily and conveniently search and view content that is built similar to the general information service. NDSL is KISTI's core science, technology and information service, providing about 138 million content and having about 93 million page views in a year of 2019. In this paper, various insights were derived through the analysis of how science and technology information such as academic papers, reports and patents provided by NDSL is searched and utilized through web services (https://www.ndsl.kr) and search query words. In addition to general statistics such as the status of content construction, utilization status and utilization methods by type of content, monthly/weekly/time-of-day content usage, content view rate per one-time search by content type, the comparison of the use status of academic papers by year, the relationship between the utilization of domestic academic papers and the KCI index we analyzed the usability of each content type, such as academic papers and patents. We analyzed query words such as the language form of query words, the number of words of query words, and the relationship between query words and timeliness by content type. Based on the results of these analyses, we would like to propose ways to improve the service. We suggest that NDSL improvements include ways to dynamically reflect the results of content utilization behavior in the search results rankings, to extend query and to establish profile information through non-login user identification for targeted services.

Use of Music by International College Students in Korea (국내 외국인 유학생의 음악 활용)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the use of music by international college students in Korea. A questionnaire was administered to foreign college students. The questionnaire was composed of 25 items regarding use of music, the purpose of music use, and demographic information. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed, and 81 questionnaires were returned. Incomplete questionnaires were excluded, and the remaining 69 questionnaires were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. First, international students in Korea preferred listening to music over playing instruments or singing and mostly listened to popular music in their dormitory alone. They mostly listened to popular songs with love related themes and preferred music from their own country over Korean music. Second, in terms of the purpose behind music use, comfort was the reason reported most frequently, followed by mood change, enjoyment, sense of belonging, and sense of achievement. Third, there were no significant differences in use of music depending on individual factors (e.g., gender, length of residence in Korea, length of previous music education), but significant differences were found for using music for the purpose of mood change and sense of belonging based on respondents' length of residence in Korea. The results of this study may contribute to the development of musical programs for cultural adaptation and psycho-emotional support for international students in Korea.

  • Recently, the knowledge and use of information production and service in integrated information has been changing from intra-organizational to inter-organizational and even international. In particular, since natural disasters are complexly related, it is increasingly important to use integrated information from related areas in the reduction and prevention of such events. In this study, we suggest strategies for the use of integrated information from natural disasters based on that expanding need. This study analyzes information user surveys, the interrelated information technologies, trends, and case studies to determine user access to the information, the status of the information used, and the supply and distribution of that information. From the survey results, we can draw conclusions about the effectiveness of the strategies of integrated information used in domestic natural disaster information.

Urban Design cases study analysis using solar cell : Focusing on the use CIGS Thin Film Solar cell (태양전지를 활용한 도시디자인 사례분석 연구 : CIGS 박막 태양전지의 활용을 중심으로)

  • This research was to understand the current situation and trends of urban design using rapidly growing solar cells at home and abroad, and to understand the positive aspects and implications of urban design proposals using CIGS thin film solar cells, a research project to be conducted based on case analysis. The research method was conducted through a literature study and the case was investigated and analyzed after identifying the present situation and trends of urban design using solar cells from home and abroad. As a result, it was confirmed that urban design using solar cells was steadily increasing, and through visual changes such as harmony with the surrounding environment, indoor and outdoor visualization, and the use of color, urban aesthetic beauty creation was positive. Based on these implications, we will present the expected effects of CIGS thin film solar cells being utilized in urban design, and confirm the direction and significance of the urban design proposal using CIGS thin film solar cells in the future.

  • A development history of the thrusters used for space-vehicle orbit maneuver/attitude control is reviewed with their performance characteristics. Especially, a scrutiny is made for the current and practical application of TVC/Gimbal/Thrusters to the roll/pitch/yaw-axis control of each stage of launch vehicles. It is well perceived that a precise 3-axis attitude control system (ACS) must be equipped on the final stage of space launch vehicles (SLV) for an attainment of orbit-insertion accuracy. Under the superior reliability as well as moderate performance features, the monopropellant hydrazine thrusters occupy most of the SLV's 3-axis ACS currently operated. Domestic development status of the medium-thrust-level thruster is shortly introduced, finally.

  • Organizations always face the risk of litigation; thus, they should actively prepare for it. In particular, public enterprises must respond to lawsuits carefully to avoid any management risk and possible damage of publicity. Given this, this study aims to identify the relationship between efficient litigation response and record management, determine problems related to record management while utilizing records as evidence, and propose measures to improve record management that uses records as legal evidence. For records to be deemed as legal evidence, RMS is essential to ensure authenticity. Moreover, the ability to secure potential evidence and awareness of the importance of records management needs to be validated. The Commission also stressed the importance of cooperation between archivists and the legal team to efficiently respond to lawsuits.

  • Recently, services using metaverse in various fields are increasing, the technology is behind the metaverse is rapidly developing. Consequently, it is necessary to provide metaverse services in university libraries. Therefore, this study examined the status of using metaverse in domestic university libraries and the librarians response to it. To this end, the cases of foreign libraries and domestic university libraries were analyzed. Furthermore, an interview was conducted with nine librarians of the university library, who has running metaverse service, to collect data on the current status of the university library metaverse and perceptions of it to identify difficulties and requirements of running the service. Based on the results, it is proposing to get the differentiation of metaverse service, acquire professionals, activate education, expand the browsing feature, and select proper platforms as a way to vitalize the metaverse of domestic university libraries. It is expected that this study will help to running or planning the metaverse service of the university library.

  • Due to the conversion from the existing address system to road name address system, the versatility of the road name address from the public and private sectors is increasing gradually. Therefor, the reliability of the road name address basic map, of the default data is also an urgent need, this means the accuracy of the data. But, road name address basic map is production time due to the use of different map accuracy is to fall, so is also the situation insufficient of utilization. This study Construction of identify each attempt by the road name address basic map and analysis the location accuracy of road name address basic map. As a result, the RMSE of cadastral survey results showed that appears lower than the RMSE of digital map survey results. The judgment can be utilized as the basis for the proposed improvements for the road name address basic map.

  • 인공지능 기계학습에 의한 한문고전 자동번역기는 승정원일기 뿐만 아니라, 한국 고문헌 중 천문 기록에 특화되어 한자로 된 천문 고전을 한글로 번역해 서비스하고 있다. 한국천문연구원은 한국지능정보사회진흥원이 주관하는 2019년도 Information and Communication Technology 기반 공공서비스 촉진사업에 한국고전번역원과 공동 참여하여 이 자동 번역기 개발을 완료한 것이다. 이 번역기의 개발 목적은 초벌 번역 수준일지라도 문장 형태의 한문을 한글로 자동 번역하는 것이며, 이 연구는 현재 번역기 운용 현황을 서비스 별로 분석하고자 한다. 자동 번역관련 서비스는 크게 3가지이다. 첫째, 누구나 웹 접속을 통해 사용 가능한 한문고전 자동번역 대국민 서비스이다. 1년간 자체 시험을 거쳐 2021년 1월 12일 시험판을 오픈하여 운용 중에 있다. 둘째, 기관별로 구축된 코퍼스와 도메인 특화된 번역 모델 등을 관리할 수 있는 한문고전 자동번역 확산 플랫폼 서비스이다. 대국민 서비스와 함께 클라우드 기반으로 서비스되며, 한국고전번역원이 관리를 담당한다. 셋째, 자동번역 Applied Programmable Interface를 활용한 한국천문연구원 내 자체 활용이 가능한 천문고전 자동번역 서비스이다. 서비스 현황 분석은 기관별 관리 서비스에 해당되는 한문고전 자동번역 확산 플랫폼에서 집계하여 제공하는 대시보드의 통계 기능을 활용한다. 각 서비스별 문장과 파일 번역 이용 건수, 번역 속도, 평균 자수 뿐만 아니라, 번역 모델 프로필에 따른 이용률 분석이 가능하다. 이에 따른 주요 분석 중 하나인 올해 전체 번역 이용 건수는 한 해 각 기관의 평균 방문자수 대비 87% 성과 목표에 해당되는 약 38만 건에 근접할 것으로 예측된다. 이 자동 번역기는 원문 해독 시간을 단축시키는 효과와 함께 미번역 천문 고문헌의 활용성을 높여 다양한 연구에 기여할 것이다.
