A Program Development of Social Justice for Mathematics Education (사회정의를 위한 수학교육 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an elementary mathematics education program for social justice. In the two years of research including literature review and development of a teaching model, forty 6th grade elementary students at two schools in Seoul participated as participants for verification of the effectiveness of the program. Parents' SES in each group is in the high and average levels, respectively. The students participated in 12 mathematical classes for social justice, and the effects of mathematics education for social justice were tested by using mixed method. As a result of the study, students' perceptions of mathematics and tendency toward mathematics were changed positively. The results of this study showed that students' perceptions on mathematics and tendency toward mathematics were influenced by individual ability, inclination, and condition rather than parents' socio-economic environments. It is necessary to develop high qualified and diverse mathematical materials for social justice in order to cultivate creative convergence ability that flexibly copes with future society. It is also necessary for teachers to look at mathematics education in a broader and deeper perspective such as seeing mathematics with humanistic imagination.

Convergence Factors Influencing Learning Satisfaction of Nursing Students on Non-face-to-face mixed classes during the COVID-19 Pandemic (코로나19 상황에서 성인간호학 비대면 혼합수업이 간호대학생의 학습만족도에 영향을 미치는 융복합적 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the convergence factors influencing learning satisfaction of nursing students in the COVID-19 pandemic after applying non-face-to-face mixed classes consisted of both real-time and non-real time distance educations. The participants were 109 nursing students who attended in a university and completed the self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. The results showed that the learning flow was 3.41, self-regulated learning ability was 3.75, and learning satisfaction was 3.98. Learning satisfaction showed a positive correlation with learning flow (r=.42, p<.001) and self-regulated learning ability (r=.75, p<.001). In addition, the factors influencing the learning satisfaction of the subjects of this study were self-regulated learning ability (𝛽=.662) followed by 60.6% (F=25.63, p<.001). Therefore, to enhance learning satisfaction of nursing students, it is necessary to increase their self-regulated learning abilities and to develop and apply training program considering the needs of the educational environment change in the post-COVID-19 era.

Mosquito Control Efficacy of a BtPlus Insecticide and Its Safety Assessment to Aquatic Environment (비티플러스 살충제의 모기 방제 효과 및 환경생물에 대한 안전성 평가)

  • BtPlus is a group of biopesticides that are made of Bacillus thuringiensis and immunosuppressant. A new BtPlus that exhibits high insecticidal activity against mosquito larvae has been investigated in control efficacy in field conditions and its environmental safety against aquatic system. This study assessed the control efficacy of BtPlus against mosquito larvae with two different application methods. In aerial spraying application (100 mL per $3.3m^2$), BtPlus was effective at 50% or above formulation concentrations to control mosquito larvae. For a direct application to aqueous mosquito habitat, a semi-field mimicking paddy rice field was constructed. In this condition, BtPlus showed 80% and 100% control efficacies at 0.1% and 0.2% concentrations, respectively. BtPlus also showed 40% mortality against adults at 0.1% concentration in 10% sugar bait. However, its control efficacies against adults were much less than against larvae. Safety assessment of BtPlus against ecosystem was evaluated using young carp (Cyprinus carpio), a water flea (Daphnia magna), and a honey bee (Apis mellifera). BtPlus did not give any adverse effects on these nontarget organisms. Based on these results, BtPlus can be applied to control mosquitoes by direct aqueous application to paddy rice field.

Study for Valuing of Residential Water when Drought Conditions (가뭄상황시 생활용수 가치 추정)

  • 최근 잦은 기상이변으로 인한 자연재해는 그 빈도와 강도가 점차 증가하고 있다. 이러한 기상이변은 결국, 극단적인 가뭄이 닥칠 가능성이 농후할 것이고, 만일 극단적인 가뭄상황이 도래할 경우 제한급수 또는 절수로 인한 일반인이 느끼는 피해정도는 매우 늘어날 것이다. 본 연구는 가뭄상황시 제한급수를 고려한 소비자의 지불의사를 알아보고자, 7대 특 광역시와 32개 가뭄상습지역에 거주하는 일반인을 대상으로 생활용수 수요패턴과 가뭄상황을 고려한 생활용수의 가치를 추정하였다. 조사결과, 수돗물 수질 관련에 대해서는 가뭄상습지역보다 7대광역시가 더 민감하였고, 수돗물 수량에 대해서는 가뭄상습지역이 더 민감한 것으로 나타났다, 지불의사 추정은 양분선택형과 개방형을 혼합하여 지불의사액을 설문하였고, Tobit모형을 이용하여 지불의사액을 추정하였다. 추정결과, 교육수준이 높을 수록, 가구수가 많을수록, 소득이 높을수록 지불의사가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 가뭄으로 인해 생활용수의 25% 제한시에는 약 2010원, 50% 제한시에는 2,395원의 추가적인 지불의사가 있는 것으로 추정되었다. 결국, 조사가구의 평균 수돗물 사용량과 절감량등을 추정하여 계산한 결과, 생활용수 25% 제한시 $1m^3$당 추가적인 지불의사 금액은 약 534원으로 추정된다. 지불의사가 기대했던 것보다 낮은 이유는 소비자가 그 정도의 가뭄을 경험하지 못한데서 오는 조세저항으로 여겨진다. 그러나 이 같은 결과는 가뭄을 회피하기 위해 소비자가 기꺼이 지불할 수 있는 비용은 현재의 물 값보다 훨씬 높다는 것을 의미한다. 알 수 있었다.수 없는 실제 방사선작업 환경에서의 선량평가 수행시, 본 논문에서 제시한 선량평가방법을 적용할 경우 계획된 피폭과 예상하지 못한 방사선장에 대한 피폭을 구분할 수 있어 보다 심도 있는 피폭선량평가 및 방사선관리가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.황산기(黃酸基)의 함량은 가장 적었다내고 있었고, in vivo에서는 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $12.9{\sim}22.2%$. 경구(經口)(p.o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $11.2{\sim}21.6%$의 높은 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다. 단 peroxidase 활성(活性)은 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $129.0{\sim}188.6%$, 경구(經口)(p. o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $111.4{\sim}139.6%$의 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다.rucic acid를 다량함유(多量含有)하고 있는 목포단교 12는 다른 두 품종(品種)에 비(比)하여 장쇄지방산에 속하는 eicoseuoic acid가 11.7%로 많이 함유(含有)되어 있었다. 그리고 3품종(品種) 모두 중성지질(中性脂質) 획분(劃分)의 지질(脂質)은 전체지방산(全體脂肪酸) 조성(組成)의 비(比)와 별다른 차이(差異)를 나타내지 않았다.수 있으나 본원에서 사용 중인 장비에서 극히 적은 MU의 사용이 현저한 선량적 오차를 유발하진 않는 것으로 사료되어진다. 그러나 정도 관리 시 그 오차를 확인하는 과정은 장비의 사용과 수명에 따라 지속적으로 관리되어져야 할 것이다.>로 평균

  • The purposes of this study were to development and verify the effect of educational program apply on STEAM for the mathematical prodigy. To accomplish these purposes literature review on development of the program and qualitative study were conducted. The mixed-model design was applied for this qualitative experimental study. The conclusions of this study were as follows. First, the program for mathematical prodigy education applied on the conceptual model of STEAM integration approach was developed. Second, a learning satisfaction about constitution of the workbook was lowly. Third, principal of STEAM was the best interest and difficult of the program applied on STEAM. Fourth, the creativity and problem solving ability was founded about angle and velocity of mathematical domain and making the Angrybirds Game on GeoGebra environment. In spite of difficulty about principal of the Angrybirds Game, confidence and satisfaction were founded about a result product.

Application of 3D point cloud modeling for performance analysis of reinforced levee with biopolymer (3차원 포인트 클라우드 모델링 기법을 활용한 바이오폴리머 기반 제방 보강공법의 성능 평가)

  • In this study, a large-scale levee breach experiment from lateral overflow was conducted to verify the effect of the new reinforcement method applied to the levee's surface. The new method could prevent levee failure and minimize damage caused by overflow in rivers. The levee was designed at the height of 2.5 m, a length of 12 m, and a slope of 1:2. A new material mixed with biopolymer powder, water, weathered granite, and loess in an appropriate ratio was sprayed on the levee body's surface at a thickness of about 5 cm, and vegetation recruitment was also monitored. At the Andong River Experiment Center, a flow (4 ㎥/s) was introduced from the upstream of the A3 channel to induce the lateral overflow. The change of lateral overflow was measured using an acoustic doppler current profiler in the upstream and downstream. Additionally, cameras and drones were used to analyze the process of the levee breach. Also, a new method using 3D point cloud for calculating the surface loss rate of the levee over time was suggested to evaluate the performance of the levee reinforcement method. It was compared to existing method based on image analysis and the result was reasonable. The proposed 3D point cloud methodology could be a solution for evaluating the performance of levee reinforcement methods.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop practical problem-based home economics teaching.learning process plans about a unit 'the youth and consumer life' of middle school eighth-grade Technology and Home Economics by applying blended learning(BL) strategy. According to ADDIE instructional design model, this study was conducted in the following procedure: analysis, design/development, implementation, and evaluation. In the stage of design and development, the selected unit was converted into a practical problem-based unit, and practical problem-based teaching. learning process plans were designed in detail by using BL strategy. An online study room for practical problem-based home economics instruction grounded in BL strategy was prepared by using Edunet(http://community.edunet4u.net/${\sim}$consumer2). Eight-session lesson plans were mapped out, and study aids for students and materials for teachers were prepared. In the implementation stage, the first-session teaching plans that dealt with a minor question 'what preparations should be made to become a wise consumer' were utilized when instruction was provided to 115 eighth graders who were in three different province, and the other one was in a middle school in the city of Daejeon. The experimental teaching was implemented for two weeks in the following procedure: preliminary program, pre-online learning, main instruction and post- online learning. The preliminary program was carried out in a session in the classroom, and pre-online learning was provided before the main instruction was given in a session in the classroom. After the main instruction was completed, post-online learning was offered. In the evaluation stage, a survey was conducted on all the learners and teachers to find out their opinions and suggestions.

Research Trends of Web-Based Inquiry Learning Effectiveness in Science Education: A Review of Publications in Selected Journals from 2000 to 2014 (과학교과 웹 기반 탐구학습의 효과성 연구 동향)

  • The purpose of this paper is to offer an analysis on the research trends of web-based inquiry learning effectiveness in science education, and to present suggestions for future studies. This study compiled data on 43 articles in Korea and international journals. The content analysis of articles published were from academic journals related to science education and educational technology from 2000 to 2014. The results are as follows: Among domestic articles, the participants ranged from school children to high school students. On the contrary, among foreign articles, the participants are centralized on secondary school students; most used experimental studies; most of the studies resulted with web-based inquiry learning in science education showing effectiveness on science learning performance or science inquiry ability; all web-based inquiry learning were designed using different models of teaching and learning, with the result in the case of domestic research, the utilized models refer to the STS learning model, Internet utilization problem-center inquiry learning model, Procedural model, while in the case of overseas research, the utilized models are SCY, IBLE, and TESI model. Implications of the findings are then discussed, which implies considerations for further research related to web-based inquiry learning.

A New Integrative Approach to Geography Education in the Social Studies Subject - with respect to Replacement of Geographical Contents in the Elementary-leveled Learning - (지리 교과의 통합교육적 접근방안 - 초등 사회과 학습 내용 조직을 중심으로 -)

  • The curriculum of integrated social studies is not conceptually established, but various forms pursuing so-called perfect integrated subject have appeared from elementary school to high school. But we cannot find out desirable integration in the elementary school though the apparent goal is to integrate all kinds of social concepts into one unit. The current method of integration has some problems over advantages people initially expected by integration. It is problematic in that students learn fragmental knowledges of geography without capturing the whole geographical concept structure or obtaining their own geographical viewpoint. Therefore, we purpose to reinterpret integration of social studies and reorganize the current textbook into the right direction under the assumption that simple mixture of knowledges is far from our goal of true integration. For this purpose, we suggest a new method for social studies as an integrated subject. Instead of providing knowledges unrelated to each other into one bundle, it helps students to see the real world in his own knowledge framework equipped with geographical viewpoint. The text we claim will show students that geography consists of three key concepts: physical environment, man and environment, and spatial structure. With this text, they will have an easy access to the relationships between key concepts and details, and between geographical concepts and similar concepts from other disciplines. The proposal contributes to both upcoming textbook development and classroom teaching by eliminating problems in the current social studies teaching.

Experimental Study on Influence of Ground Collapse due to Ground Water Level Lowering (지하수위 저하가 지반함몰에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • According to recent ground collapse occurrence, ground subsidence is increasing every year in downtown area, which is a social problem. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between ground water level lowering and ground collapse through laboratory model experiments. After mixing 1:1 granite weathered soil with sand, sandy soil was formed as a relative density of 30%, 50%, and 80%. And then the changes of soil discharge with change of groundwater level were compared. The physical property of material of which particle distribution were well graded with maximu dry unit weight of $1.94kg/cm^3$ and internal friction angle of 37degrees. Ground water levels were measured at 10 cm, 20 cm, and 30 cm from the bottom. As a result, the experiment shows that the higher the groundwater level works the higher the discharge velocity and the magnitude of underground cavity also increases with elapsed time. Finally, the cumulative quantity of soil discharge occurred up to 30 kg at the elapsed time, 35 minutes. It was also confirmed that the range of ground collapse increased due to soil discharge with ground water level lowering.
