Evaluation of Durability for Glass fabric/Phenolic Composites under Salt Water Environment (염수환경에 노출된 유리섬유직물/페놀 복합재의 내구성 평가)

  • Salt water spray and immersion tests were experimentally conducted for over 6 months to investigate the durability of glass fabric/phenolic composites under salt water environment. Mechanical properties such as tensile properties, flexural properties, and shear properties were evaluated and thermal analysis properties such as storage shear modulus, loss shear moduls, and tan 6 were obtained through a DMA. A change in chemical structures was analyzed through a FTIR. According to the results, mechanical properties and thermal analysis properties were sensitive to salt water environment and these properties began to degrade in increasing in exposure times. However, tensile and flexural moduli started to decrease and then slightly increase as increasing in exposure times due to plasticization and crosslinking in matrix as well as physical swelling in composites. Beyond a certain exposure times, these properties began to decrease as further increasing in exposure times. Also the shape and location of peaks in FTIR curves were insensitive to exposure times, but the intensity of peaks would be. finally we found that the durability of glass fabric/phenolic composites were affected on salt water immersion environment rather than salt water spray environment.

  • 건설현장에서 작업환경측정을 하고 있으나 노출되고 있는 유해인자를 세분화하여 작업환경측정을 하지 않고 공정별 대표적으로 노출되는 소음, 진동 등 몇 가지만 실시하고 있다. 이에 건설현장에서 가장 많이 노출되는 산화규소분진의 유해성과 현재 건설현장에서 하고있는 개선대책의 보완점을 찾고자 한다. 연구방법: 안전보건공단과 산업보건협회에서 발행하는 실태조사 보고서 및 작업환경측정 기관의 자료를 활용하여 현황을 분석하였고 산업안전보건법의 작업환경측정에 관한 규칙과 비교 분석 하였다. 연구결과: 산화규소분진의 유해성을 파악하고 개선책을 보완도출하였다. 결론: 건설현장의 산화규소분진의 유해성을 도출하고 이에 따른 개선대책을 제시함으로써 현장에서 적극적으로 적용한다면 산화규소분진에 대한 직업병을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Social Response to Self-Disclosure of Agents: Context-Awareness and Building Positive Social Relationship (에이전트의 자기노출에 대한 사용자의 사회적 반응: 컨텍스트 인식과 긍정적인 사회적 관계 형성)

  • 컴퓨터가 우리의 일상적 환경으로 스며드는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 인터페이스는 '컨텍스트 인식'과 더불어 이용자들과의 '긍정적인 사회적 관계'를 형성할 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이 두 가지의 관점을 충족시킬 수 있는 인터페이스 에이전트의 유형으로 '자기를 노출하는 에이전트'를 제안하고, 에이전트의 자기노출에 대한 사용자의 사회적 반응을 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 1) 에이전트로부터 친밀성이 높은 노출을 받은 피험자들은 더 깊은 자기노출을, 많은 양의 자기노출을 받은 피험자들은 더 많은 양의 자기노출을 하였다. 2) 에이전트 자기노출의 깊이가 깊을수록 에이전트에 대한 호감과 신뢰는 감소하였다. 3) 피험자들은 처음 만난 자리에서 극히 개인적인 노출을 하는 에이전트보다는 일반적인 노출을 하는 에이전트와 장기적으로 더 친밀해질 것이라고 예측하였다. 이러한 결과는 컨텍스트를 인식하는 인터페이스 에이전트로 자기노출 에이전트를 이용할 경우 사용자의 심리적 구조를 파악하는데 효과적임을 보여주며, 단기적인 사용자 정보의 추출보다는 장기적 관점에서 호감과 신뢰를 쌓을 수 있는 이용자와 에이전트의 사회적 관계 달성이 우선적으로 고려되어야 함을 시사한다.

A Study on the Health Risk Agents in the Workplace of a General Hospital (한 종합병원 작업환경의 건강저해인자에 관한 조사 연구)

  • To evaluate the health risk of the workplace environment of a general hospital toward the hospital workers, a questionnaire survey on the perception of risk at the workplace environment and environmental measurements at 27 locations with 240 workers in the hospital were made from October 25th, 1993 to October 30th, 1994. The results were as follows ; 1. By the environmental measurements, 86 workers(36%) were found to be exposed to poor or harmful degree of general illumination, 193 workers(80%) were exposed to poor or harmful local illumination, 34 workers(14%) were exposed to poor or harmful degree of thermal condition and 180 workers(75%) were exposed to poor or harmful noise level, but nobody was exposed to poor or harmful dust and toluene concentration. Also nobody was exposed to poor or harmful level of radiation or anticancer/antibiotic agents. 2. The subjective perceptions on the environmental conditions felt by the workers were different from the objective findings by the environmental measurements. The workers underscored the poor illumination state and overscored the dust concentrations. Also workers oversensitized about the thermal condition, the noise level, the radiation level, the toluene concentration and anticancer/antibiotic agents 3. The sources of noise were the dialogue(179 workers) and the office instruments(131 workers). The sources of dust came from the clothes(108 workers) and the building materials(79 workers). 4. The questionnaire survey showed that the 28 workers were exposed to poor or harmful level of the antibiotics, 10 workers to alkali or acid and 6 workers to drug dust in the pharmacy but the above findings could not be proved by the environmental measurements.

  • Humans are exposed by a range of pollutants in soil via exposure routes such as ingestion, inhalation, and dermal contact. Risk assessment is a process of evaluating the adverse health effects of chemicals as a result of exposure to stressors, and it is a very useful tool to establish the cleanup goals in contaminated lands. In the exposure assessment that is one of main process in risk assessment, exposure factor plays a significant role to quantify the intake of soil pollutants. However there is a very limited study about the exposure factor applicable to Korea. In this study, we compared the exposure factors applied by the developed countries including the United States and representative European countries, and suggested the exposure factor that might be suitable in our situation. The exposure factors considered in this study include average lifetime, body weight, (exposed) skin surface area, life time, skin absorption, soil-skin adherence factor, and soil ingestion rate. This information is needed to quantitatively estimate the intake of soil pollutants in contaminated lands.

  • 1996년, 한국전자파학회 내에 <전자장과 생체 관계 연구회>가 조직된 이후, 3년 동 안의 연구를 한 결과, 생활 주변 및 고전자기장 지역의 전자장 환경을 파악하였으며, 여러 국가 또는 국제 안전기준들을 검토한 후, 한국 실정에 적합한 노출 안전기준과 환경측정기 준을 작성하게 되었다. 본 발표에서는, 연구회가 3년을 거쳐 전자기장 노출에 대한 안전기준 및 측정기준을 제안 하게 된 과정과 , 안전 기준 제정 작업과 관련된 과거의 일정 및 노출 안전기준의 법제화와 관련된 향후의 일정들을 소개한다.

Development of a Smartphone based Photo-realistic Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy System (스마트폰을 이용한 사진 기반 가상 현실 노출 치료 시스템 개발 및 시험적 적용)

  • Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) has been used for a several decades. However, we are not aware any studies that used a smart-phone based virtual reality techniques. In this study, we suggested a new smart-phone based VRET that included photorealistic techniques. We also evaluated the current system with 32 healthy participants, and results suggested that the current system evoked different emotional valences in indoor/outdoor and familiar/unfamiliar environments. The meaning of current results and potential applications of VRET were discussed.

Aging Characteristics of Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composite Ring Specimen (탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재 링 시편의 노화 특성 평가)

  • The effect of exposure times on the aging characteristics of carbon fiber/epoxy composite ring specimen was evaluated using an accelerating aging tester. Combined exposure conditions, such as temperature, moisture, and ultraviolet, were applied up to 3000 hours. Tensile properties and flexural properties including the effect of curvature were evaluated on the specimens subject to various exposure times through a material testing system. Their aging surfaces were observed through a scanning electron microscope. According to the results, tensile modulus was little affected by the exposure times. However, tensile strength, at the early stage of the exposure times, increased due to physical aging and curing reaction, but tensile strength slightly decreased due to degradation as the exposure times increased. The flexural modulus and flexural strength increased at the early stage of the exposure times, but slightly decreased as the exposure times increased. Aging surfaces of the specimens examined using the scanning electron microscope revealed a different morphology in various exposure times and provided useful information for identifying the degradation in mechanical properties of the composite subject to various exposure times.
