A Study on the Optimum Environmental Conditions for the Creation and Restoration of Artificial Tidal Flat (인공간석지 창출과 복원을 위한 최적환경조건 선정에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of design criteria and environmental conditions of the site of created tidal flats on the structure and function of man-made ecosystem. Seven constructed tidal flats and three natural tidal flats were studied taking the difference in the location (wave height and tidal current), inflow of river water, slope of tidal flat and age after the construction completed into consideration. Parameters studied were physico-chemical and biological characteristics of soils and rate of respiration. The natural tidal flats had higher contents of silt, nitrogen and organic matter compared with the constructed ones. The natural ones had reductive zone below 2cm, whereas the constructed ones had aerobic zone from the surface to below 20cm. The bacterial population in the soil of the constructed tidal flats was one to two orders of magnitude lower than that in the natural ones. Both biomass of macrobenthos and microbial respiration rate, however, were not different significantly between the natural and the constructed tidal flats. There was an exceptional constructed tidal flat with similar physico-chemical and biological characteristics to the natural ones. It is most probable that sufficient conditions to have similar tidal flats to natural ones are the location in enclosed bay or calm coastal area. Thus, to make man-made tidal flats with the same characteristics as those in natural ones, man-made tidal flats should be designed and/or located to enhance the accumulation of silt on tidal flat. It is important to select a place having low water motion for construction of tidal flat.

  • 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스에서 Quality of Service(QoS) 보장의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 멀티미디어 서비스 제공 형태의 대다수가 될 멀티캐스트 경로설정에서도 QoS 보장은 확장성 신뢰성과 함께 매우 중요한 문제이다. QoS 기반 코어 선택 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 알고리즈믄 멀티캐스트 경로설정에서 코어 선택시에 다중 QoS 제약조건을 고려한다. QoS 제약조건은 최소보장 대역폭, 종단 지연, 종단 지연변이 등으로 정의한다. 모의 실험결과는 제안한 QCSA와 Maximum Centered Tree(MCT) Average Centered Tree (ACT) Initial Delay-Constrained Shared Tree(Dcinitial) Random Tree(Random)등의 기존 코어 선택 알고리즘의 성능을 각 항목별로 비교한다 멀티캐스트 그룹 멤버수와 QoS 제약조건을 인자로 한 모의 실험 결과는 제안한 QoS 기반 코어 선택 알고리즘이 기존 코어 선택 알고리즘에 비해서 다중 QoS 제약조건 보장 코어 선택 성공률에서 성능 개선 효과를 가짐을 보여준다. 제안 알고리즘이 본 논문에서 설정한 모의 실험 환경에서는 QoS 기반 코어 선택의 정도를 나타내는 성공률에서 약 10% 정도 기존 알고리즘보다 우수함을 보인다. 이 결과는 제안 알고리즘이 코어 선택 과정의 초기부터 멀티캐스트 그룹내의 모든 멤버에 대한 다중 QoS 제약조건을 고려하는 점이 QoS 기반 코어 선택에서 개선 효과를 나타냄을 보여준다.

Development and Application of National Environment Atlas Using Environmental Spatial Information (환경공간정보를 활용한 국가환경지도시스템 구축 및 활용 방안)

  • Unlike traditional environmental problems, current environmental problems occur due to by complex reasons. These complexities highlight the importance of precise spatial based analysis and expeditive use of environmental information when an environmental problem arises. However, the traditional environmental information has many problems because they are mainly numerical based and scattered in various systems. To overcome these problems, providing integrated environmental spatial information is important. Thus, a research was conducted on establishing national environment atlas system and its implications for policies. Firstly, this study selects 275 out of 2,701 materials and information from Ministry of Environment and related organizations. Secondly, total 64 thematic maps specific business support are Produced to support establishment and implementation of environmental policies. In addition, the produced thematic maps are privatized. Thirdly, the study analyzes total 17 systems and environmental thematic maps of Ministry of Environment and relevant organizations to connect the information on the business support thematic maps. As a result, 1,314 applicable spatial information and 39,331 applicable database based on spatial information based are selected, and a standardization plan is established. Fourthly, the study suggests a stepwise implementation plan for developing a national environment atlas system. The development of national environment atlas system will help establishing an environmental policy based on more relevant and accurale information.

Seasonal Variations of Marine Water Quality and Eutorphication Index in Mokpo Harbour (목포항의 수질 및 부영양도의 계절 변화)

  • The in situ observations and the seawater analyses were conducted for 3 years from August 1996 to August 1999 in order to elucidate and evaluate seasonal variations of marine water quality and trophic state in Mokpo harbour of Korea. Compared the seasonal seawater qualities of Mokpo harbour with the OECD standards of trophic classification in parameters such as Secchi depth, dissolved inorganic nitrogen, phosphate phosphorus and chlorophyll-a, the trophic level of seawater in Mokpo harbour was evaluated to be in mesotrophic or eutrophic state through all 4 seasons and to be in eutrophic state, particularly In summer. The estimation of pollution index by eutrophication showed the seawater quality of Mokpo harbour to deteriorate and fall under the regular grades through all 4 seasons, although the seawater quality of Mokpo harbour was evaluated to be equivalent to the second or third class of the Korean seawater quality standards in view of COD values. The results of eutrophication index estimation showed the high potentiality of red tide occurrence In Mokpo harbour, particularly in summer or fall. In the light of the average atomic ratio of N/P in seawater, the limiting nutrient factor against the growth of phytoplankton was concluded to be phosphorus rather than nitrogen in Mokpo Harbour.

  • 최근 기후변화로 인해 수자원 위험요소인 가뭄 및 홍수피해가 증가하고 있으며, 인구증가에 따른 수량감소로 수자원관리가 더욱 어려워지고 있는 실정이다. 효율적인 수자원관리 및 기후변화 대응을 위해 세계 물시장은 점점 증가하고 있으며, 이에 따라 국내기업 또한 해외사업 진출을 추진하고 있으나, 사업에 필수적인 기상, 수문 등 기초자료의 부재로 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내기업의 해외사업 진출 시 필요한 기상, 지형, 수문, 인문 사회 등 기초자료를 제공하는 글로벌 수자원정보제공시스템(Global Water Bank, GWB)을 설계 및 개발하고자 한다. 국내 외 예비타당성보고서 및 국내에서 수집 가능한 국외 정보현황을 분석하여 자료 제공인자를 도출하였으며, 이를 토대로 시스템 내 제공항목을 기상, 지형, 수문해석, 인문 사회, 기후변화 자료로 구분하였다. 해외시장 진출범위를 고려하여 자료의 공간적인 범위를 전지구로 설정하였으며, 전지구 자료의 가용성을 검토하여 제공자료를 구축하였다. 기상자료는 NCDC (National Climate Data Center)의 관측 지점자료와 APHRODITE (Asian Precipitation - Highly-Resolved Observational Data Integration Towards Evaluation) 격자자료를 수집하였으며, 오 결측 자료는 품질검토를 수행하여 보정하였다. 지형자료의 경우 USGS (U.S. Geological Survey)의 DEM, FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations)의 토양도, UMD (University of Maryland)의 토지피복도를 구축하였다. 수문자료는 GRDC(Global Runoff Data Centre)의 관측 지점자료를 수집하였으며, 미계측 지역의 수문자료 구축을 위해 VIC(Variable Infiltration Capacity) 수문모형을 활용하여 $0.5^{\circ}$ 공간해상도의 격자 유출량 자료를 생산하였다. 인문 사회자료로 World Bank의 국가별 통계자료를 수집하였으며, 구축된 각 자료는 GWB 시스템을 통해 제공된다. 시스템의 시범운영을 위해 아시아 지역을 대상으로 GWB- 버전을 개발하였으며, 시범지역 내 관측자료와 비교분석하여 자료의 활용성을 검증하였다. 추후 GWB 시스템은 해외진출 사업 우선지역 선정 근거로 활용될 수 있는 가상수 및 물산업지수 등의 추가정보를 제공하고 타 지역으로 확대적용 예정이다.

Spatial Impact Assessment of Heat Wave on River Water Quality using Big Data (빅데이터를 이용한 폭염과 하천수질의 공간적 영향 평가)

  • 이상기후 현상으로 기후변화가 사회와 경제에 미치는 영향이 뚜렷한 추세로 변화되고 있다. 현재 기후변화에 관련된 연구는 사회 시스템에서 위험관리를 위해 기온과 강수량에 따라 다양한 분야에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구를 중점으로 이뤄지고 있다. 본 연구는 여름철 폭염에 의한 기후변화가 하천수질에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위한 것으로, 우리나라 기상청 91개의 기상관측소에서 일일온도 33℃ 이상의 이벤트를 대상으로 환경부 수질관측망 918개에 대한 14개의 하천수질인자인 DO, BOD, COD, TOC, DOC, TN, DTN, NH4-N, NO2-N, NO3-N, TP, DTP, PO4-P, Chl-a를 분석하였다. 이를 우리나라 117개 중권역별 하천수질과 폭염강도와 지속시간을 나타내는 폭염 지수를 산정하여 분석하였다. 폭염 관련 뉴스 데이터는 2013년부터 2019년까지 Python 기반 뉴스 크롤러를 이용해 폭염 취약지수(Heat Wave Vulnerability Index, HWVI)를 기준으로 분류하여 키워드를 수집하였으며 HWVI 중 '기후노출' 키워드와 관련된 기사는 총 22,514건으로 69.9%로 수집되었다. 공간적 영향 평가를 위해 Getis-Ord Gi*를 이용하여 폭염지수와 하천수질인자간 핫스팟 분석을 실시하고 폭염관련 빅데이터가 하천수질에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 폭염지수는 낙동강유역 하류에 대해 Chl-a, TN, TP 항목에서 높은 밀도를 보였다. 분석대상지역 내 폭염이 발생한 확률과 반경 밖에서 발생할 확률의 우도비를 분석하기 위해 SaTScan을 이용한 공간검색통계분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 폭염지수와 DO의 공간상관성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Evaluation of Correlation between Chlorophyll-a and Multiple Parameters by Multiple Linear Regression Analysis (다중회귀분석을 이용한 낙동강 하류의 Chlorophyll-a 농도와 복합 영향인자들의 상관관계 분석)

  • In this study, Chlorophyll-a (chl-a) prediction model and multiple parameters affecting algae occurrence in Mulgeum site were evaluated by statistical analysis using water quality, hydraulic and climate data at Mulgeum site (1998~2008). Before the analysis, control chart method and effect period of typhoon were adopted for improving reliability of the data. After data preprocessing step two methods were used in this study. In method 1, chl-a prediction model was developed using preprocessed data. Another model was developed by Method 2 using significant parameters affecting chl-a after data preprocessing step. As a result of correlation analysis, water temperature, pH, DO, BOD, COD, T-N, $NO_3-N$, $PO_4-P$, flow rate, flow velocity and water depth were revealed as significant multiple parameters affecting chl-a concentration. Chl-a prediction model from Method 1 and 2 showed high $R^2$ value with 0.799 and 0.790 respectively. Validation for each prediction model was conducted with the data from 2009 to 2010. Training period and validation period of Method 1 showed 20.912 and 24.423 respectively. And Method 2 showed 21.422 and 26.277 in each period. Especially BOD, DO and $PO_4-P$ played important role in both model. So it is considered that analysis of algae occurrence at Mulgeum site need to focus on BOD, DO and $PO_4-P$.

Ecotoxicity Assessment of Leachate from Disposal Site for Foot-and-Mouth Disease Carcasses (구제역 가축 매몰지 침출수 독성영향평가)

  • In this study, chemical analysis and ecotoxicity tests of leachate from disposal site for foot-and-mouth disease carcasses (FMD leachate) were conducted to collect fundamental data that will be used to develop environmental risk assessment tools for FMD leachate. For chemical analysis, concentration of $Cl^-$, $NH{_4}{^+}-N$, Korea standard method indicators for detection of leachate released from animal carcasses burial site into groundwater and NRN (Ninhydrin-Reactive Nitrogens), a newly suggested screening test indicator to detect groundwater contamination by FMD leachate, were assessed. For ecotoxicity tests, luminescent bacteria (V. fischeri), micro-algae (P. subcapitata) and water flea (D. magna) were selected as test species. Correlation analysis between the concentration of $Cl^-$, $NH{_4}{^+}-N$, NRN and the toxicity to V. fischeri was performed to identify the better indicators to monitor FMD leachate contamination. From regression analysis, the concentration of the indicators in FMD leachate contaminated sample that induced halfmaximal toxic effect to V. fischeri was evaluated. Results obtained from this study can be applied to assess the risk by FMD leachate and to establish the guideline to manage risk in relation to FMD leachate.

Evaluation of Interior Factors in Gyunro-dang and Recommendations for Improvement -In 14 Facilities at Apartment Complex in Seoul- (경로당 실내환경 평가와 개선방안 -서울지역 아파트 단지 내 14개 시설을 중심으로-)

  • This research has been done to evaluate the interior environmental factors in Gyungro-dang to suggest the advanced recommendations for them. For this research, the essential interior elements influencing on elderly's behavior were examined with the developed checklist, the lighting and color conditions of main hall at 14 facilities in Seoul area were analysed, and 124 subjects staying at Gyungro-dang were participated in questionaire survey for color preferences. Results showed that 1.The average installation rate of 39 items in checklist was 59%, the mandatory items such as accessible dimension were considered, but several items related to mobility and safety were not properly installed. Therefore not only guiding handrail and floor block to destination but also elimination of obstacles should be reconsidered. 2.The average of illuminances was 289 Lux dose to standard 300 Lux, but lighting quality was too low to support the activities of elderly users. The lighting control devices, combined lighting sources, and suitable lighting techniques should be applied for those facilities. 3.Most facilities were predominantly in warm colors in hue, medium or high value, low saturation, and natural atmosphere with similarity harmony. The color applications in those facilities were not functional, but similar as color preferences for the elderly except overall atmosphere. It is recommendable to include contrast harmony with classic or romantic mood.

Development of Community Design Evaluation Index from the Perspective of Sustainability (지속가능성의 관점에서 본 커뮤니티디자인 평가지표 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop community design evaluation factors for sustainable urban regeneration and to suggest considerations for sustainable community design by analyzing excellent community design cases. Through literature review, previous studies on the concept and core items of sustainable urban regeneration, and the concept and components of community design were considered. In addition, evaluation indicators for sustainable community design were developed in the socio-economic, physical, environmental, historical and cultural dimensions through the analysis of the linkage with the evaluation factors of community design through the analysis of previous studies. The evaluation index consists of 3 evaluation items and 9 items including social performance and participation at the social level, economic feasibility at the economic level, environmental characteristics at the physical and environmental level, accessibility, contextuality, locality at the historical and cultural level, identity, and artistry. Includes dog evaluation factors. Reliability and effectiveness are secured through the developed evaluation index and detailed description and expert verification. Exploratory factor analysis and expert interviews were conducted through the survey, and as a result of the analysis, the stability and Cronbach'α coefficients were verified, and the validity of the community design evaluation index considering sustainable urban regeneration was recognized through expert interview. The results of this study are considered meaningful in that they can provide basic data for the improvement of community design for sustainable urban regeneration in the future.
