Estimation of Carbon Storage in Three Cool-Temperate Broad-Leaved Deciduous Forests at Jirisan National Park, Korea (지리산국립공원 낙엽활엽수림 세 군락의 탄소저장량 평가)

  • Cool-temperate broad-leaved deciduous forests are one of dominant forest cover types in Asia monsoon climate regions. However, our understanding of how much storages carbon in these ecosystems is limited. We studied carbon storage in three cool-temperate broad-leaved deciduous forests at Jirisan National Park, Korea. The biomass of trees in the three stands on an average was $112tC\;ha^{-1}$ and ranged from 107 to $119tC\;ha^{-1}$. The total amount of soil organic matter at a depth of 30 cm in the three stands on an average was $66tC\;ha^{-1}$. In addition, the total carbon stocks of biomass and soil was approximately $178tC\;ha^{-1}$, ranged from 167 to $184tC\;ha^{-1}$. Above values among three stands did not show the valuable difference at Jirisan National Park. The amounts of carbon storage in three ecosystems at Jirisan National Park, were higher than those of other studies significantly, except Seoraksan National Park.

  • In this paper, we analyze the coverage of asynchronous IMT(International Mobile Telecommunication)-2000 reverse link with a MUD(Multi-User Detector) system. The MUD system is utilized to increase the coverage of reverse link. Also we have considered a propagation loss model and an interference effect. Because it is very difficult that we have calculated the interference accurately, so a fractional cell loading factor(F) is used in this paper. We make use of a MUD efficiency($\beta$) to analyze the performance; this efficiency is presented the MAI of reduction. A simulation utilizes Hata's model, we calculated the coverage according to voice and data services. In this paper, we have assumed that the frequency of carrier has 800 MHz or 1.9 GHz, and a bandwidth is decided 3.84 MHz. We have predicted the performance of actual system by the analysis of capacity and coverage.

  • 국내적으로는 '60년 이래 급속히 진전되어 온 산업화와 도시화로 발생되는 환경오염문제를 조 속히 해결하고, 헌법에 보장되어 있는 국민의 환경권을 보호하기 위하여 적극적이고 효율적이며 쾌적한 환경조성이 절실하다. 국외적으로는 '92년 6월 브라질의 리우데자에이로에서 열린 유엔 환경개발회의(UNCED) 이후 범지구적인 환경문제의 해결의 중요성이 인식되어 있다. 그러나 선진국은 자국의 이익을 추구하기 위해 우수한 환경기술을 앞세워 무역 규제의 수단으로 활용 하려 하고 있다. 환경기술의 우위확보가 주해결방법이 될 환경라운드(Green Round)는 WTO의 활동이 시작될 '95년부터 본격화되리라고 예측되고 있다.

The Law of One Price and Dynamic Relationship between EU ETS and Nord Pool Carbon Prices (국제 탄소배출권 가격의 일물일가 검정 및 동태적 분석)

  • This study tests for the law of one price and Grander Causality between the EU ETS and Nord Pool $CO_2$ allowance prices. The Johansen cointegration test shows that there exists a long run equilibrium between EU ETS and Nord Pool prices and support the law of one price. The Granger casuality test suggests that the EU ETS leads Nord Pool for all vintages traded. The test results imply that the EU ETS can be regarded as the representative carbon market in the EU where many exchanges just started competing for the newly rising market for carbon.

Hydro-meteorological Characteristics in Season and Solar Term According to RCP Climate Change Scenarios (RCP 기후변화 시나리오에 따른 우리나라 계절 및 절기의 수문기상학적 특성 분석)

  • As industrialization and urbanization progress extensively, climate change is intensifying due to greenhouse gas emissions. In Korea, the average temperature increased, and the annual precipitation also increased due to climate change. In addition, the meaning of the solar term, which expresses seasons according to the movement of the sun, is also being overshadowed. Therefore, this study investigated the seasonal changes and solar-term changes of average temperature and precipitation observed in the past as well as simulated for future RCP climate change scenarios for five major regions (Capital Region, Gyeongsang, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gangwon). For the seasonal length, the length of summer became longer, the length of winter became shorter nationwide, and the precipitation in summer generally increased compared to the past. In the Chungcheong area, under the RCP 8.5 scenario, the length of summer increased by 46%, precipitation increased by 16.2%, and the length of winter decreased by 31.8% compared to the past. For the solar term, the temperature rose in all seasons. In the Chungcheong area, under the RCP 8.5 scenario, the temperature of major heat increased by 15.5%, and the temperature of major cold increased by 75.7% compared to the past. The overall results showed that the hydrological characteristics of the season and solar term were identified by region, which can be used as basic data to prepare policies to respond to climate change.
