Non-destructive Analysis on the Chemical Properties of Glass Beads (비파괴 분석을 통한 유리구슬의 화학적 특성 연구)

  • The possibility of non-destructive inspection glass beads for verification.   • 최근 자동차용 휘발유에 메탄올을 불법 혼합시켜 유통시키는 사례가 빈번히 적발되고 있다. 정상적인 연료에 알코올이 불법 혼합될 경우, 장치 내 고무류와 금속류를 부식시키며, 독성가스인 알데하이드를 배출시키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 에탄올의 경우 흡습성이 높아 자체적으로 수분을 생성시킬 수 있으며 정상 휘발유보다 증기압이 높기 때문에 밀폐공간에서 화재 및 질식의 위험이 있을 수 있다. 현재 휘발유 내에 알코올 성분을 분석하기 위한 분석법으로는 Gas Chromatography가 이용되고 있으나 고가의 장비와 긴 분석시간으로 인해서 유사석유의 판별여부가 효율적으로 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 화학절 식별제인 크롬산($CrO_3$)을 이용하여 휘발유 내 알코올 성분을 정성 정량 분석하였다. 환원된 3가 크롬은 용액상에서 붉은색을 나타내므로 육안으로도 알코올의 존재여부를 간단히 확인할 수 있으며, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry를 통해 휘발유 내 알코올의 농도에 따라 흡광도값이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 퇴적암의 풍화특성을 파악하기 위해서는 풍화과정을 지배하는 암석의 광물 조성과 화학성분에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 풍화정도에 따른 퇴적암의 특성을 고찰하기 위해서 대구지역에 분포하고 있는 퇴적암을 채취하여 화학 및 광물성분 분석과 시간경과에 따른 물리 및 역학특성 시험을 실시하였다. 퇴적암에 대한 풍화판정법은 시험결과 Parker의 풍화지수식이 잘 일치하였고 모암에 함유된 $Al_2$O$_3$, CaO, $Na_2$O, $K_2$O, MgO등의 화학성분과 조장석(Albite, Ab), 백운모(Muscovite, Ms), 마그네타이트(Magenetite, Mt)등의 광물성분이 풍화와 밀접한 관계가 있었으며, 또한 암석의 풍화정도와 공학적 성질에 대한 상관관계식을 제안하였다.

Changes of Volatile Organic Compounds of Rhus verniciflua S. Bark by Fermentation (발효에 의한 옻나무 수피의 휘발성 유기성분 변화)

  • To investigate effects of fermentation on volatile components, we analyzed volatile organic compounds of raw and fermented Rhus verniciflua S. bark. A 50%(w/v) sugar solution was used for fermentation. Volatile organic compounds of raw and fermented Rhus verniciflua S. were extracted by the simultaneous steam distillation and extraction(SDE) method, with a mixture of n-pentane and diethylether(1:1, v/v) and analyzed by gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer. A total of 51 and 27 volatile organic compounds were detected in raw and fermented samples, respectively, and were mainly alcohols. Compounds such as ethyl acetate, 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol, 3-methylbutanal, 1-octen-3-o1, 3-methyl-2-butanone, hexanal and pentanal were detected as the primary compounds in the raw sample. The fermented sample showed sour different volatile compounds, such as ethanol, ethyl acetate, ethyl lactate and 3-methylbutanol. Thus, a number of volatile organic compounds were synthesized after fermentation of Rhus verniciflua S. bark.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the physical/chemical properties of concrete surface according to types of formworks. Plywood formwork and coated plywood formwork were prepared. In addition, plywood formwork with sand paper was prepared to simulate deterioration of concrete or rough surface of concrete. Normal concrete was used in this study. The properties of concrete surface were investigated by visual inspection, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy techniques, elemental mapping, 2D and 3D surface profile measurement, and zeta potential measurement. Test results showed that concrete in a coated formwork had smooth surface and concrete in the formwork with sand paper had rough surface. It was observed that properties of concrete surface depended on types of formworks. Furthermore, differences in surface roughness were significantly higher than those in chemical compositions and zeta potential.

Volatile Analysis of Commercial Korean Black Raspberry Wines (Bokbunjaju) Using Headspace Solid-phase Microextraction (Headspace Solid-phase Microextraction을 이용한 시판 복분자주의 휘발성분 분석)

  • In this study, the volatile compounds in 24 commercial Korean black raspberry wines were isolated by headspace solid-phase microextraction and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A total of 43 volatile components, including 15 esters, 12 terpenes, 7 alcohols, 4 acids, 3 ketones, and 2 aldehydes, were identified. Ethyl esters and alcohols such as ethyl acetate, ethyl octanoate, isoamyl alcohol, and phenethyl alcohol were the most represented groups among the quantified volatiles. In particular, various terpenes such as DL-limonene, linalool, alpha-terpineol, and myrtenol were identified. The differences in volatile components among the 24 black raspberry wines and possible sample grouping were examined by applying principal component analyses to the GC-MS data sets. The first and second principal components explained 43.9% of the total variation across the samples. No apparent sample groupings were observed according to manufacturing locations. The samples KU, BH, SR, and MO showed higher overall levels in the concentrations of terpenes originating from black raspberry, while other samples such as BB and HB, showed higher in ethyl ester and alcohol contents produced by yeast fermentation, respectively.

Structures and Properties of Semi-blown Petroleum Asphalt (세미-브로잉 공정에서 석유 아스팔트의 구조, 물성 변화)

  • The vacuum residue of petroleum refinery, i.e. asphalt, was modified through a non-catalytic air blowing process to prepare the semi-blown asphalt. Changes in composition, chemical structure, and physical properties of asphalt were examined. The result from the thin layer chromatography showed that the asphaltene content in asphalt was increased by the air blowing on account of the aromatization of aliphatic hydrocarbon and condensation. These changes in molecular structure were also confirmed by $^1H-NMR$, differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetry. Because of the molecular structure changes, the penetration of asphalt was decreased and the softening point and the flash point of asphalt were increased.

  • 물리ㆍ화학적 및 효소적 방법을 이용한 근육의 품질판정 지표로써 수분함량, 지질함량 그리고 콜라겐 함량등을 살펴보았으며, AEC 수치로써 건강도를 측정하고자 하였다. 즉, 이런 지표들을 이용하여 양식산 활어의 품질에 가장 큰 요인으로 작용하는 파괴강도와의 상관관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 지금까지 조사된 양식산 활어성분 중 파괴강도가 어떠한 독립변수들에 의하여 크게 영향을 받으며, 파괴강도와 독립변수와의 관계식은 무엇인가를 규명하기 위하여 회귀분석을 실시하였다 여기서 독립변수로 사용된 것은 아래와 같다. X$_1$ : 수분함량(moisture content) X$_2$ : 지질함량(lipid content) X$_3$ : 콜라겐 함량(collagen content) 각 성분간의 상관관계를 피어슨 상관계수로 나타낸 것으로, 파괴강도와 수분 함량, 지질함량사이에는 상관성이 있으나(r=0.66, r=-0.69: p<0.05), 콜라겐의 함량과는 상관성을 가지지 못하였다. 또한, 콜라겐과 수분함량(r=0.19), 콜라겐과 지질함량(r=-0.29)로 각 성분간의 상관성이 존재하지 않았다. 그러므로, 파괴 강도값은 지질과 수분함량간의 상관관계가 형성된다. 즉, 수분함량이 크고 지질함량이 작아지면 파괴강도간은 커진다는 결론이다. 이 결과를 이용하여 파괴감도, 수분함량 그리고 지질함량간의 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 다음과 같다. Y = 0.74481 + 0.01323 X$_1$- 0.05821 X$_2$ 이 회귀식을 이용하여, 참돔의 수분함량과 지질함량을 측정함으로써 참돔의 품질을 결정할수 있는 파괴강도값이 계산으로 얻어진다. 또한 효소적방법으로써 품질지표인 AEC수치를 측정함으로써 건강도를 판정할 수 있다. 그러므로, 파괴강도값을 이용하여 품질의 등급을 선정하며, AEC수치를 건강도의 등급을 선정하여야 된다. 파괴강도값에 의한 등급은 1.4kg이상은 상급, 1.2~l.4kg은 중급, 1.2kg이하를 하급으로 선정하며, AEC수치는 1.0~0.9는 상급, 0.9~0.8는 중급, 0.8이하를 하급으로 선정하여 등급화를 분류할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • This study is shown the chemical characteristics by SEM and XRD for the Light-weight Foamed Concrete according to replacement ratio of WCP and the autoclave curing time. From the SEM of the Light-weight Foamed Concrete after hydrothermal raction, regardless of replacement ratio of WCP and the autoclave curing time, forms the crystal hydrates having various shapes such as board and fiber etc is generated. From the XRD, it seems that the tobermorite hydrate is originated from crystalized quartz.

Physicochemical Characteristics of Carrot Glycoprotein (당근 당단백질의 물리화학적 특성)

  • This study was performed to investigate the physicochemical characteristics of glycoprotein extracted from carrot. We manufactured glycoprotein using natural vegetable raw materials carrots, and then analyzed it's physicochemical properties. The results showed that the nutritional composition of carrot glycoprotein (CG) consisted of 2.35% carbohydrate and 94.2% glycoprotein. There were small amounts of hydroxyproline and glycine known as characteristics of collagen peptide in the amino acid of CG, but there were large amount of glutamic acid and aspartic acid involved in the metabolism of glucose and fat. The calories of CG was 342.1 kcal/100 g and the molecular weight appeared less than 594 Da average molecular weight distribution.
