  • 스프링클러 소화설비는 화재가 발생하였을 때 자동적으로 감열, 작동하여 초기화재 진압을 목적으로 하는 소화설비로서 소화특성은 화재발생으로부터 소화가 시작되는 화재감지특성과 화재제어 및 진압에 대한 방사특성1) 으로 FRS2) 3)와 FMRC4)에서는 열응답의 민감도를 나타내는 반응시간지수(RTI)의 측정방법과 이론을 제시하였다. 반응시간지수는 스프링클러헤드의 작동에 필요한 충분한 열을 주위로부터 얼마나 빠른 시간내에 흡수 할 수 있는지를 나타내는 특성치로서 가열공기의 온도 및 속도에 의해 결정되며 값이 적을수록 헤드가 조기에 작동하게 된다.   • 현대 사회의 도시가 고밀도로 개발되면서 녹지공간의 축소로 인하여 이상기온 현상 즉 열섬현상이 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이상기온현상인 열섬현상의 해결방안 중 하나로 제시되고 있는 건축물의 옥상녹화시 건축물의 온도 저감효과가 건축물 화재의 발화원인 중 하나인 전기화재에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 한다.

  • The utility tunnels are the important facility as a mainstay of country because of the latest communication developments. However, the utilities tunnel is difficult to deal with in case of a fire accident. When a cable burns, the black smoke containing poisonous gas will be reduced. This black smoke goes into the tunnel, and makes it difficult to extinguish the fire. Therefore, when there was a fire in the utility tunnel, the central nerves of the country had been paralyzed, such as property damage, communication interruption, in addition to inconvenience for people. This paper is based on the fire occurred in the past, and reenacting the fire by making the real utilities tunnel model. The aim of this paper is the scientific analysis of the character image of the fire, and the verification of each fire protection system whether it works well after process of setting up a fire protection system in the utilities tunnel at a constant temperature. The fire experiment was equipped with the linear heat detector, the fire door, the connection water spray system and the ventilation system in the utilities tunnel. Fixed portion of an electric power supply cable was coated with a fire retardant coating, and a heating tube was covered with a fireproof. The result showed that the highest temperature was $932^{\circ}c$ and the linear heat detector was working at the constant temperature, and it pointed at the place of the fire on the receiving board, and Fixed portion of the electric power supply cable coated with the fire retardant coating did not work as the fireproof. The heating tube was covered with the fireproof about 30 minutes.

  • In this study, we conducted an FDS simulation for the purpose of carrying out a basic assessment of the usefulness of the water spray for fire extinguishing. We analyzed the effect of securing the stability in temperature and smoke density in case of fire according to fire intensities and changes in wind speed. When there was no wind speed in tunnels, it was effective in securing the safety of people because the cooling effect of the water spray system had an excellent effect on reducing temperatures and smoke densities there.

  • 지하 주차장에서 차량사고에 의해 차량화재가 발생하는 것을 고려하여 대규모 연소실험을 실시하였다. 연소 실험결과 실험체 Car1, Car2 의 최대 발열량은 5.4MW가 측정 되었으며, 최고온도는 Car1에서 $1206^{\circ}C$와 Car2에서 최고 온도 $1113^{\circ}C$가 측정 되었다.

  • numerical simulation of unsteady heat conduction equation were carried out by finite control volume method using the gas temperature derived from fire model as a boundary value. The reduction of compressive and flexural by heating were calculated from the temperature and the given reduction rate. It is shown that this method could be well applied to assess the safety of concrete column or beam of the burned building.

An Experimental Study on the Formations of Thermal Stratification in Furniture Fire (가구화재시 열적성층의 형성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The objective of this research is to study on the formations of thermal stratification in a room in case of several furniture fires such as trashcan, carpet, sofa, mattress and wardrobe as a fire starter in a residential room by performing the experimental studies. The uniformly distributed fire in case of carpet showed that the ignition and the initial growth period were relatively short while the fully developed period was considerably long. The concentrated fires such as the mattress and wardrobe showed that the ignitions and the initial growth periods were relatively long. When fire spread to only direction, like the case for the trashcan with a regular shape, there was one peak of temperature profile, and for the irregular shaped furniture such as chair, sofa, mattress and wardrobe, there were two or more peaks. The interface heights for the furniture fires were around 1[m] maintaining constant state. However, at the time of the maximum temperature, the interface height was lowered to 0.25[m]-0.75[m] from the floor.

  • Recently, evacuation safety of a resident of building become the major concern, because building has been higher and more complicated. Buildings in Korea should install the natural smoke venting or mechanical smoke exhaust equipment according to the building law. The smoke control is the most important to guarantee the evacuation safety. This study evaluate the influence to the height and temperature of smoke layer by enlarging smoke vent size and operating sprinkler system using CFAST (Version 6). Smoke venting size is larger, the effect to height and temperature of smoke layer is increased in below 5 MW fire. But, the correlation of these is decreased in above 10 MW fire. The case that opened smoke vent and sprinklered are applied, life safety criteria are satisfied regardless of fire size. After design the fire scenario according to the service and size of building. Install the smoke vent suitable for the fire size and verify that by experiment or simulation.
