  • An aging population and increasing consumer demand for high-quality and innovative new products are key drivers for growth in the cosmeceutical industry. Cosmeceuticals are defined as products with biologically active ingredients that have a measurable effect on the user. This study explored the effects of shopping orientation and store attributes on impulse buying behavior for cosmeceuticals. We obtained 437 usable questionnaires from university students who had purchased cosmeceutical products. Data analysis was conducted using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling analysis via AMOS 18.0. The findings were: 1) hedonic shopping orientation and convenience shopping orientation had positive effects on product efficacy and promotion of the cosmeceutical store 2) brand shopping orientation had a positive effects on store atmospheric, skin care service, and brand of the cosmeceuticals store and 3) product efficacy and promotion of store attributes had a direct effect on impulse buying behavior for cosmeceuticals. Consumers who tended to enjoy the shopping to refresh themselves and to experience convenient shopping were likely to purchase cosmeceuticals impulsively, which mediated by the store attributes (product efficacy and promotion). Therefore, we confirmed partly causal relationships among the shopping orientation, store attributes, and impulse buying behavior of cosmeceuticals. Both managerial and theoretical implication for practitioners and researchers were discussed for managing product information more efficiently along with promotion strategies to trigger cosmeceuticals consumers in the context of shopping.

The data on Chinese women living in Korea and Korean women in their 20s was collected using an offline survey. The data on Chinese women living in China in their 20s was collected using an online survey. Three hundred twenty-seven questionnaires out of a total of 330 questionnaires were used for statistical analysis. The survey was conducted from January to February 2014. Eighteen questions on shopping tendency and eight questions on the properties of cosmetics were analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale. Data was analyzed by Descriptives, Factor Analysis, Reliability Analysis, ANOVA and Cluster Analysis, and SPSS 21 statistical program. In accordance with the analyses, the shopping tendency comprised a showing-off tendency, pleasure-seeking tendency, and practicality tendency; the properties of cosmetics were classified into conformity and functionality. On the basis of the elements in the shopping tendency, the female consumers were categorized into a low involvement consumer group, high involvement consumer group, and hedonic consumer group. The Chinese women emphasized conformity or functionality of cosmetics more than the Korean women regardless of the countries where they lived. Regardless of shopping types or countries where they lived, the Korean and Chinese women in their 20s emphasized functionality over conformity of cosmetics. Furthermore, Chinese women living in Korea showed a similar shopping tendency to Chinese living in China.

  • The internet and the information-oriented communities have brought many changes to increase brand power and product sales in many industries. This study investigates the influence of brand preference and information reliability on consumers' purchase decisions. If product information at the internet advertising matches with consumers' previous brand preference, they are more likely to enhance product information reliability after watching the advertising. Such brand preference match through the advertising will increase consumers' intention to purchase. From the results of our experiment, we found that information reliability and memory from the advertising give a positive impact on the intention to purchase when consumers' previous brand preference matches with advertising attributes. Our study suggests that firms need to develop the internet advertising which is closely matched with consumers' preferences.

  • Due to the advent of ubiquitous computing environment, it is becoming a part of our common life style. And tremendous information is cumulated rapidly. In these trends, it is becoming a very important technology to find out exact information in a large data to present users. Collaborative filtering is the method based on other users' preferences, can not only reflect exact attributes of user but also still has the problem of sparsity and scalability, though it has been practically used to improve these defects. In this paper, we propose clustering method by user's features based on SOM for predicting purchase pattern in u-Commerce. it is necessary for us to make the cluster with similarity by user's features to be able to reflect attributes of the customer information in order to find the items with same propensity in the cluster rapidly. The proposed makes the task of clustering to apply the variable of featured vector for the user's information and RFM factors based on purchase history data. To verify improved performance of proposing system, we make experiments with dataset collected in a cosmetic internet shopping mall.

  • With the growth of the e-commerce market, consumers increasingly rely on user reviews to make purchasing decisions. Consequently, researchers are actively conducting studies to effectively analyze these reviews. Among the various methods of sentiment analysis, the aspect-based sentiment analysis approach, which examines user reviews from multiple angles rather than solely relying on simple positive or negative sentiments, is gaining widespread attention. Among the various methodologies for aspect-based sentiment analysis, there is an analysis method using a transformer-based model, which is the latest natural language processing technology. In this paper, we conduct an aspect-based sentiment analysis on multilingual user reviews using two real datasets from the latest natural language processing technology model. Specifically, we use restaurant data from the SemEval 2016 public dataset and multilingual user review data from the cosmetic domain. We compare the performance of transformer-based models for aspect-based sentiment analysis and apply various methodologies to improve their performance. Models using multilingual data are expected to be highly useful in that they can analyze multiple languages in one model without building separate models for each language.
