자율운항선박의 화물 양적하 및 입출항 지원을 위한 서비스 개발

  • 자율운항선박 수용에 따른 화물 컨테이너 도착 및 항만에서의 화물 상태에 대한 데이터 흐름을 제공하여 화물 양·적하 및 선박 입출항 지원 서비스 개발을 통해 자율운항선박과 터미널 간의 화물 양·적하 작업과 입출항 작업에 대한 지원 시스템을 제공함으로서 화물의 물동량과 양·적하 효율 및 선석 운영효율을 최대화하고, 이에 더불어 자율운항선박의 선적정보 교환을 통한 양·적하 작업의 오류가능성과 자동화된 양·적하 지원을 통한 선박의 정박비용을 최소화하여 글로벌 공급 체인의 복잡성을 최소화하고 항만물류비용을 감소시키는데 기여하고자 한다.

  • 자율운항 선박 지원 6종 서비스는 인공지능 센서 기반 선박 접/이안 및 계류지원 서비스, 화물 양적하 및 선박 입출항 지원, 선박과 터미널 간 실시간 정보 교류를 통한 운항정보 동기화, PSC 점검지원, 선박의 주요 기기를 육상 시범운영센터에서 표출하는 상태모니터링 지원 서비스, 해양사고 발생 시 신속한 조치을 위한 사고 대응지원 서비스로 구성되어 있다. 이 연구에서는 개발되는 6종 서비스 성능검증이 원활히 수행될 수 있도록 육상과 실선박에 설치되어야 하는 장비, 선박과 육상서비스 센터의 데이터 전송을 위한 네트워크 인프라 그리고 종합 상황실 역할의 육상 시범운영센터를 구축하여 안전운항을 위해 6종서비스가 이루어 져야한다.

Forecasting Bulk Freight Rates with Machine Learning Methods

  • This paper applies a machine learning model to forecasting freight rates in dry bulk and tanker markets with wavelet decomposition and empirical mode decomposition because they can refect both information scattered in the time and frequency domain. The decomposition with wavelet is outperformed for the dry bulk market, and EMD is the more proper model in the tanker market. This result provides market players with a practical short-term forecasting method. This study contributes to expanding a variety of predictive methodologies for one of the highly volatile markets. Furthermore, the proposed model is expected to improve the quality of decision-making in spot freight trading, which is the most frequent transaction in the shipping industry.

Analyzing Time in Port and Greenhouse Gas Emissions of Vessels using Duration Model (생존분석모형을 이용한 선박의 재항시간 및 온실가스 배출량 분석)

  • The time in port for vessels is one of the important factors for analyzing the operation status and the capacity of ports. In addition, the time in port for vessels can be directly used for estimating the greenhouse gas emissions resulted from vessels in port. However, it is unclear which variables can affect the time in port for vessels and what the marginal effect of each variable is. With these challenges in mind, the study analyzes the time in port for vessels arriving and departing port of Busan by using a parametric survival model. The results show that the log-logistic accelerated failure time model is appropriate to explain the time in port for 19,167 vessels arriving and departing port of Busan in 2008, in which the time in port is significantly affected by gross tonnage of vessels, service capacity of terminal, and vessel type. This study also shows that the greenhouse gas emission resulted from full-container vessels, which accounted for about 61% of all vessels with loading/unloading purpose arriving and departing port of Busan in 2008, is about "17 ton/vessel" in the boundary of port of Busan. However, the hotelling greenhouse gas emissions resulted from non-container vessels (3,774 vessels; 20%) are greater than those from the full-container vessels. Hence, it is necessary to take into account more efficient port management polices and technologies to reduce the service time of non-container vessels in port of Busan.

Evolution of Nitrogenous and Non-Structural Carbohydrate Compounds in Remaining Tissues Following Shoot Removal of Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) (알팔파(Medicago sativa L.)의 예취후 잔여기관내 질소화합물과 비구조성 탄수화물의 변화)

  • Nitrogenous and non structural carbohydrate compounds in the remaining tissues of 10 weeks old alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) grown in hydroponic culture, were analysed during 24 days of regrowth following shoot removal. The dry weights of the remaining organs were not significantly changed for 10 days following shoot removal. Compared with uncut plants, defoliation drastically depressed root growth, in particular that of taproot. During 6 days of regrowth, nitrogen contents in all remaning organs significantly decreased. Nitrogen loss in this period was pronounced in root system. Nitrogen contents in each organ after 24 days of regrowth in defoliated plant were recovered completely or exceeded initial level. Amino acid-N was the most readily available form of nitrogen while protein-N was the largest storage pool. The tap root contained about 51.0% and 33.4%, respectively, of the total starch and total ethanol-soluble sugar contents. The starch content of tap roots initially exceeded 40.7 mg. plant$^{-1}$ (day 0), and then declined to the minimum level on day 14. This result clearly showed that the tap root is the major storage site for metabolizable nitrogen (protein-N and amino acid-N) and carbohydrate(starch), and that the degradation of these researves occur much actively in the early period of regrowth.

  • Along with the increase in global volume of goods, logistics companies are trying to reduce costs by increasing the size of ships carrying cargo, increasing the efficiency of quantitative equipment at ports, and unmanned electric vehicles on land. Korean naval ports are also facing the same situation as the global trend. In the past, small and medium-sized ships such as FF, PCC, and beheaded eagles are being retired for their longevity, and their positions are being replaced by large ships such as KDX, FFG, and LST-II. In particular, large ships such as Dokdo and the next light aircraft carriers are also being prepared. Unlike general merchant ships, naval ships require periodic inspections and preventive maintenance, so repair piers such as maintenance depots are in operation. The naval maintenance depot mainly uses trailers, trucks, and truck-type cranes to carry out loading and unloading of heavy ships, and the application or development of automation and unmanned equipment performed by the private sector is inadequate, and self-improvement cases are also very weak. This study aims to improve the efficiency of the military logistics system through research on the logistics system such as transport, storage and unloading of heavy goods and maintenance products of naval ships.
