The study on the Straightness forms of STD-11 Die-hole in wire-cut Electronic Discharge Machining Conditions (와이어 컷 방전가공 조건에 따른 STD-11 Die-hole 가공시 진직정밀도 고찰)

  • From the experimental study of W-EDM for alloyed steel, the characteristics such as Hand Drum Form and surface roughness have been observed and evaluated for various conditions. In square hole, the increase of If as to made condition the calculate high value of surface roughness. Also compare dimensionless square hole with circle hole' graph. In circle hole, if a value of surface roughness IP 6 in a side of circle it show a 0.4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and in IP 8, 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, in IP 10, 0.7${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, in IP 12. 0.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ higher than before. This figure show the surface roughness is higher than before, because a table move in either X-axis or Y-axis in square hole, on the contrary, in circle there table move in X-axis and Y-axis at the same time. hand drum form getting small when wire tension increase 1000gf to 1500gf, at the same working conditions. the smaller of off time, the mailer of hand drum form in same condition and same wire tension. but if you compare square hole with circle hole' graph hand drum form displayed in maintained term of working condision, on the contrary, in case of square hole variation of hand drum form is more increase than a grow of IP

Electron Discharge Machining (EDM) and Hole EDM of Cold Heat-treated Tool Steel Molds (STD11) by using Cu Electrodes (냉간 금형용 공구강의 Cu 전극을 이용한 방전 홀에 관한 연구)

  • 3D formed Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) and hole EDM were conducted for die and mold manufacturing with electrodes which were made by mechanical machining and wire EDM. It is difficult to machine the hardened material after heat treatment and quenching with traditional machining. The only method of machining hardened material is die-sinking EDM. In this research, hole EDM was conducted for heat-treated cold-worked tool steel (SKD11) for use as a die material. The EDM surfaces were analyzed by pulse-on time and peak current of EDM current, according to the machining conditions of EDM. The EDM surface profiles were affected by the peak current. The contribution of each factor is peak current (91.63%) and pulse-on time (0.93%). The best surface roughness was obtained with a $130{\mu}s$ pulse-on time and a 14.2 A peak current. With uniform EDM processing, the surface deteriorated with increasing pulse-on time and peak current. The thickness of the solidified layer induced by EDM was increased as the peak current, crater shapes, and erupted shapes of EDM surfaces were increased. Therefore, microcracking gaps induced by surface tension were increased.

  • 3D fluid based numerical modelling is done for a VHF multi hollow cathode array plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition system. In order to understand the fundamental characteristics of it, Ar plasma is analyzed with a condition of 40 MHz, 100 Vrf and 1 Torr. For hole array of 6 mm diameter and 20 mm inter-hole distance, plasma is well confined within the hole at an electrode gap of 10 mm. The peak plasma density was $5{\times}10^{11}#/cm^3$ at the center of the hole. When the substrate was assumed at ground potential, electron temperature showed a peak at the vicinity of the grounded walls including the substrate and chamber walls. The reaction rate of metastable based two step ionization was 10 times higher than the direct electron impact ionization at this condition. For $H_2$, the spatial localization of discharge is harder to get than Ar due to various pathways of electron impact reactions other than ionization.

  • 전류센서는 전기차 시대의 도래와 함께 전기차의 주용 부품으로써, 차량용 전기가 충방전하는 동안의 전류의 흐름을 측정하고, 전지관리시스템이 모니터링하는 목적으로 사용되어 진다. 본 논문은 Hall-effect를 이용하여 전류에 의해 의기된 자장이 자성코어에 집중되어 코어의 공극에서 측정되도록 전류센서를 구성하였다. 공극간의 자속을 측정하기 위하여, GaAs 게열의 Hall 센서가 사용되었다. 본 논문이 제안하는 센서는 측정 결과, 출력 특성의 선형성과 온도 안정성이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 제안된 전류센서가 산업용으로 적용이 가능함을 보여준다.

  • Electrical discharge machining is the method of using thermal energy by electrical discharge. Generally, if the material of workpiece has conductivity even though very hard materials and complicated shape which are difficult to cut such as quenching steel, cemented carbide, diamond and conductive ceramics, the EDM process is favorable one of possible machining processes. But, the process is necessarily required of finish cut and heat treatment because of slow cutting speed, no mirror surface, brittleness and crack due to the residual stress for manufactured goods. In this experimental thesis, the super EDM drilling was developed for high precision semiconductor die steel and for minimization of leadframe width. It was possible to development of EDM drilling machine for high precision semiconductor die with the electrode guide and its modelling and stress analysis. The development of electrode with the copper pipe type was conducted to drill the hole from the diameter of 0.1mm to 3.0mm with the error of from 0.02mm to 0.12mm. From the SEM and EDX analysis, the entrance of the EDM drill was found the resolidification of not only the component of tungsten but also the component of copper.

  • 플라즈마 질화 기술은 기존의 침탄 혹은 고주파 표면 경화 기술 대비 낮은 온도에서 열처리 공정이 진행됨에 따라 열 변형을 최소화 시킬 수 있으며, 후 가공을 간소화 시킬 수 있다는 장점으로 인해 자동차 부품 및 기타 응용 산업 분야에 있어 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 그러나 공정 진행에 장시간이 소요되고 복잡한 형상 및 홀 가공에 의한 기능부, 특히 내경부에 대한 균일 질화 처리가 어려워 실제 응용분야 확장에 큰 제약이 따르고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 일반 글로우 방전 대비 플라즈마 밀도가 10배 이상 높은 공공 음극 방전(Hollow Cathode Discharge, 이하 HCD) 현상을 이용하여 고속 고균일 질화공정을 개발하고자 하였으며, 상용화 적용을 위한 연구를 함께 진행하였다. 사용된 시료로는 실제 자동차 부품으로 사용되는 SCM415 소재의 ring gear와 slip yoke pipe를 사용하였으며, HCD 형성을 위해 특화된 플라즈마 질화장비를 활용, 공정 압력 및 인가 전력 등을 변수로 실험을 진행 하였다. 그 결과 질화 처리 속도에 있어 기존 글로우 방전 플라즈마 질화 대비 1/4 이하 수준으로 그 소요 시간을 단축시킬 수 있었으며, 다량 장입된 시료의 내경 기능부에 있어서도 높은 균일도를 갖는 질화표면이 형성됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 기능부 표면에 형성된 HCD 현상을 열원으로 사용함으로써 외부가열 장치를 사용하지 않으면서도 기존의 hot wall 방식보다 높은 질화 균일도 구현이 가능하였으며, 소요 자원 및 전력 사용 측면에 있어서도 공정 시간 단축 및 외부 가열 공정 제거에 의한 높은 수준의 에너지 절약이 가능하였다.

  • Hall thrusters are one of the electric propulsion, where ions are accelerated to generate thrust and are widely utilized in space missions due to their high specific impulses. Recently, as the utilization of small and micro satellites with the mass of similar or less than 100 kg is highly increasing, the importance of research and development of the low-power electric propulsion is also raised. In this study, we developed two sub-200 W or less class, laboratory model Hall thrusters and measured the thrust and analyzed the discharge characteristics. Consequently, we obtained 2.5-9.0 mN of thrust, 600-1,150 s of specific impulse, and 15-28% of anode efficiency at 50-175 W of anode power.

Expansion Ratio and Ultimate Load of Pulse-Discharge Bulbed Anchors (펄스방전 그라운드 앵커의 확공특성 및 극한인발력에 관한 연구)

  • The ground anchor is not usually used in soft clay and loose sand, because the pullout resistance of anchors can not be guaranteed. However, there is a method to increase the capacity of anchors using electric discharge geotechnical technologies, which are also known as pulse discharge and electric-spark technologies. The pulse-discharge anchor has a bulbed (or underreamed) bond length that is expanded by high voltage electrokinetic pulse energy. 24 anchors were installed in the weathered soil and sandy clay at the Geotechnical Experimentation Site at Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, Korea. In this study, in order to define a relation between expansion rate of the anchor diameter and ultimate load, anchor load tests were carried out in accordance with testing procedures by AASHTO (AASHTO 1990) and FHWA (Weatheb 1998). And then several anchors were exhumed to measure the diameter of the pulse discharge anchors.

음이온을 포함한 $E{\times}B$ 드리프트 운동 해석

  • 플라즈마 내에서 수직으로 인가된 전자계에서의 전자와 이온을 포함한 하전 입자들의 이동현상은 이미 널리 알려져 있다. 그러나 음이온이 존재하는 플라즈마에서의 하전입자들의 운동은 복잡하고 아직 충분히 해석되지 못하였다. 따라서 전기장 E와 자기장 B가 서로 수직으로 인가된 플라즈마 내에서 음이온을 포함한 하전 입자들의 운동에 대한 해석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 플라즈마 공정에서 발생된 음이온의 운동을 이해하기 위해 E B 드리프트 운동을 이론적으로 계산하였다. 결과적으로 음이온의 $E{\times}B$ 드리프트 운동은 전자나 이온과는 반대 방향으로 이동을 하였고, 드리프트 속도는 홀 파라미터의 값에 따라 달라짐을 보였다. 따라서 서로 수직으로 인가된 전자기장에 의한 $E{\times}B$ 드리프트 운동을 통해 플라즈마의 방전 공간에서 음이온을 제어할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Construction of Current Sensor Using Hall Sensor and Magnetic Core for the Electric and Hybrid Vehicle (홀소자와 자기코어를 이용한 하이브리드 및 전기자동차용 전류센서 제작)

  • A current sensor is one of important component which is used for the electrical current measurement during charge and discharge of the battery, and monitoring system of the motor controller in the electric and hybrid vehicle. In this study, we have developed an open loop type current sensor using GaAs Hall sensor and magnetic core has an air gap. The Hall sensor detect magnetic field produced by the current to be measured. The 3 mm air gap core was made by HGO electrical steel sheets after slitting, winding, annealing, molding, and cutting. Developed current sensor shows 0.03 % linearity within DC current range from -400 A to +400 A. Operating temperature range was extended to the range of $-40{\sim}105^{\circ}C$ using temperature compensating electronic circuit. To Improve frequency bandwidth limit due to the air flux of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and Hall sensor, We employed an air flux compensating loop near Hall sensor or on PCB. Frequency bandwidth of the sensor was 100 kHz when we applied sine wave current of $40A{\cdot}turn$ in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. For the dynamic response time measurement, 5 kHz square wave current of $40A{\cdot}turn$ was applied to the sensor. Response time was calculated time reach to 90 % of saturation value and smaller than $2{\mu}s$.
