Characteristic comparison of sensing materials in mixed potential type NH3 gas sensors for urea-SCR DeNOx system in diesel engine (디젤 엔진 Urea-SCR DeNOx 시스템용 혼합전위 방식 암모니아 가스 센서의 감지물질 특성 비교)

  • It is considered that the urea injection DeNOx SCR(selective catalytic reduction) system is the only promising method to satisfy the worldwide NOx emission standards. As for the theoretical aspect, reactants of NO and $NO_2$ with $NH_3$ produce $H_2O$, $N_2$ and $O_2$ which do not harm human beings and environmental as well. The realization of maximum NOx conversion (without using a post oxidation catalyst) is only possible with closed loop controlled urea dosing. It means built-in $NH_3$ gas sensor have to be developed for detecting accurate $NH_3$ concentration for the feedback system. Using YSZ(yttria-stabilized zirconia) as a solid state electrolyte and $In_2O_3$ as a sensing material, this paper aims to study dependable $NH_3$ gas sensor for the promising solution of DeNOx technology, which have a reproducible electric output signal, a high sensitivity and fast response.

  • 이 논문에서는 이동 로봇을 위하여 퍼지이론과 Dempster-Shafer 이론을 이용한 불확실한 환경에서의 센서기반 네비게이션 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 제어기는 장애물 회피 동작과 목적지 찾기 동작을 위한 2개의 행동 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 2개의 행동 모듈은 각각 퍼지 이론으로 학습되었고, 적절한 행동 선택 방법으로 선택되게끔 하였다. 견고한 퍼지 제어기를 가진 로봇이 실험 환경내에서 안전하게 움직이기 위하여 자동으로 지도를 구축(Map Building) 하도록 하였다. 이 실험에서 구성된 맵은 평면상의 격자를 중심으로 작성되었고 로봇의 센서에서 읽어들인 센서 값은 D-S 추론 이론을 이용하여 기존의 맵과 혼합되어진다. 즉, 로봇이 움직일때 마다 실험 환경내에서 새로운 정보를 읽어 들이고, 그 정보로 인하여 기존의 지도가 새로운 지도로 갱신되는 것이다. 이러한 작업을 거치면서 로봇은 장애물과 충돌없이 배회하는 것 뿐 아니라 설정된 목적지까지도 쉽게 찾아갈 수가 있다. 실험에 대한 안정성과 확신을 검증 받기 위하여 실제 로봇에 적용하기보다는 먼저 이동 로봇의 시뮬레이션으로 실험 해 보고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we propose an improved method of plane tracking in developing AR games for smartphones using magnetic field sensor. The previous method based on ARCore is a VIO method using a mixture of SLAM and IMU of smartphones. The disadvantages of accelerometers and gyroscopes in IMUs cause errors in tracking the plane. We propose an improved method of planar tracking by adding the magnetic field sensor as well as the existing IMU sensors. Experimental results shows that our method reduces the error of the smartphone posture estimation.

  • FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) Radar is very useful for vehicle collision warning system and autonomous driving sensor. In this paper, the design and implementation of FMCW radar based on two chip MMIC developed as an autonomous driving sensor was described. Especially, generation of frame-based and chirp-based waveform generation and signal processing are mixed to have the strength of maximum detection speed and compensation of speed. This implemented system was analyzed for performance and commercialization potential through lab. test and driving test in K-city.

  • We have developed the bio-electrode measuring the variance of the amount of acetylcholine affected by residual pesticide. The working electrode of the biosensor was made by combination of cobalt phthalocyanine and carbon organic compounds. The biosensors were constructed by screen-printing method. The principle of working electrode is similar to thiocholine sensor. We have fabricated the biosensor using standard screen printing method. Generally, the biosensor made by printing method formed thick film biosensor. When the electrodes were made by electrochemical cells, the generation of current by the addition of enzyme substrate was inhibited by standard solutions of organo-phosphate pesticides. The detection limit of sensor is about 0.5 $\mu{g}/L$ for carbofuran. We could improve the responsibility of the sensor by controlling the cobalt phthalocyanine and thiocholine concentration ratio. Also we have tested the EPN and Chlorpyrifos pesticides and found that the biosensor is applicable to fast determination of residual pesticides.

  • Because satellite images include geometry distortions according to photographing conditions and sensor property, and their spatial and radiational resolution and spectrum resolution are different, it is so difficult to make a precise results of analysis. For comparing more than two images, the precise geometric corrections should be preceded because it necessary to eliminate systematic errors due to basic sensor information difference and non-systematic errors due to topographical undulations. In this study, we did sensor modeling using satellite sensor information to make a basic map of change detection for artificial topography. We eliminated the systematic errors which can be occurred in photographing conditions using GCP and DEM data. The Kompsat EOC images relief could be reduced by precise rectification method. Classifying images which was used for change detections by city and forest zone, the accuracy of the matching results are increased by 10% and the positioning accuracies also increased. The result of change detection using basic map could be used for basic data fur GIS application and topographical renovation.

  • This paper deals with a control system with a concentration sensor for Ni-W alloy plating solutions. The printed circuit board market has increased with the development of the electronics industry. Gold consumption has also increased dramatically. Various studies of composite plating solutions have been conducted because of the expense of gold. In comparison, the development of sensors capable of measuring a composite plating solution in real-time is still insufficient. Furthermore, there are few systems that can measure and control the concentration of the solution precisely. This study developed a sensor and system to control the concentration of composite plating solution accurately. The sensors were developed based on a spectrophotometric method and a feedback control method was applied in this system.

  • In this article, the preparation of hydrogels containing conducting polymer@lignin hybrids and their application to sensing materials were demonstrated using diverse techniques. A conducting polymer, polypyrrole (PPy) was polymerized on the surface of lignin and successful formation was analyzed with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Subsequently, PPy@lignin hybrids were mixed with a hydrogel matrix to obtain a conductive hydrogel. The feasibility of using the hydrogel as a sensing material was shown by obtaining reasonable sensing signals using various electrical measurements when adding solvents and solutions to the sensor system. The significance of sensor signals was confirmed with complementary experiments. This study shows that the hydrogel containing the PPy@lignin could be used for sensor applications.

  • In this paper, we represent a mobile robot which can recognize chemical odor, measure concentration, and track its source indoors. The mobile robot has the function of smell that can sort several gases in experiment such as ammonia, ethanol, and their mixture with neural network algorithm and measure each gas concentration with fuzzy rules. In addition, it can not only navigate to the desired position with vision system by avoiding obstacles but also transmit odor information and warning messages earned from its own operations to other nodes by multi-hop communication in wireless sensor network. We suggest the way of odor sorting, concentration measurement, and source tracking for a mobile robot in wireless sensor network using a hybrid algorithm with vision system and gas sensors. The experimental studies prove that the efficiency of the proposed algorithm for odor recognition, concentration measurement, and source tracking.

  • New humidity-sensitive monomer, N-methacryloyl-N'-ethyl-N'-propyl piperazinium bromide (MANEPPB) was prepared by the quaternization reaction of N-methacryloyl-N'-ethyl piperazine (MANEP) with 1-bromopropane. Polyelectrolytes derived from the copolymers composed of MANEPPB/MMN/AA=60/35/5, 70/25/5, 80/15/5, 90/5/5 and 95/0/5 were prepared for the humidity-sensitive membranes, which were fabricated on the gold electrode by dipping method and were crosslinked by reacting copolymers with aziridine crosslinker, trimethylolpropane tris(2-methyl-1-aziridinopropionate) (TTAP). When the resistance dependences on the relative humidity of the sensors were measured, it was found that the resistance varied three orders of magnitude between 20 and 90%RH, which was satisfied with the requirement for the common humidity sensor operating at ambient humidity. Their hysteresis, temperature dependence, frequency dependence, response and recovery time and water durability were measured and evaluated as a humidity-sensing membrane.
