  • Rapeseed oil is easily oxidized due to the high contents of unsaturated fatty acid such as linoleic acid and linolenic acid. For stability of rapeseed oil oxidation, a special process is required. Two kind of simple and interesterifying mixed rapeseed oil were prepared according to add 30%, 50% and 70% of coconut oil and palm oil. Sample oils were heated at 180${\pm}$5$^{\circ}C$ for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 hours. Then the physicochemical properties such as the tendency of oxidation were investigated. The initial AV and POV of interesterifying mixed rapeseed oil were higher than those of simple mixed oil. But the tendency of oxidation were similar. While oxidation rate of similar and interesterifying mixed rapeseed oils with coconut oil and palm oil were lower about than those of rapeseed oil.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the mixed ratio of the soil amendments, peat, humate, peatmoss and zeolite, on the soil physicochemical properties. The mixed ratios of soil amendments were 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 10% (v/v) incorporated with sand which met to the USGA (United State of Golf Association) recommendation. It was measured pH, EC and CEC as a chemical properties. Porosity, capillary porosity, air-filled porosity, bulk density and hydraulic conductivity were also measured to analyze the changes of physical properties. Chemical properties were significantly different by mixture ratios of peat, humate, peatmoss and zeolite. When the results were applied to the USGA standard of the soil physical properties, the optimum mixture ratios of peat, humate and peatmoss were 5%, 3% and 7%, respectively. Air-filled porosity was factor involved in soil physical properties by blending with soil amendments and it was affected on volume of porosity and hydraulic conductivity. To analyze the corelation of mixture ratio versus to physical characters, the ratio of peat and peatmoss was significantly related to capillary porosity and hydraulic conductivity (P<0.05), that of humate hydraulic conductivity (P<0.01), and that of zeolite air-filled porosity and volume of porosity (P<0.05). These results could be used as a basic data for construction USGA sand green.

  • Research was initiated to investigate the effect of high water-absorbing polymer on turf grass quality of three major turfgrasses. A total of 12 treatment combinations were used in the study. Treatments were made with different rates of sand, soil organic amendment (SOA), and water-swelling polymer (WSP). Visual turf grass quality was evaluated in creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds., CB), Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L., KB), and zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica Steud., Zoy) grown under greenhouse conditions. Significant differences were observed among the treatments in CB, KB, and Zoy. Visual quality ratings varied with mixing rates of SOA and WSP, being maximum 5.6 in differences among them. At the end of study it ranged from 0.3 to 9.6 in CB, 0.3 to 4.0 in KB, and 0.9 to 5.8 in Zoy. Turfgrass quality pattern changed with time after seeding among treatments influenced by WSP rates. From this study, a proper rate of WSP is considered to be 5%, 5~10%, and 5% for CB, KB and Zoy, respectively. In general, overall treatment effect of WSP on turfgrass quality was highly associated with SOA 20% in three turtgrass species. When mixing sand with SOA and WSP for rootzone soil, a proper rate of SOA is considered to be 15 to 20% for CB and KB, while 20% for Zoy of warm-season grass. A further study would be required to investigate the effect of varied, gradual mixing rates of WSP on growth characteristics of turfgrasses grown on mixtures of sand, SOA, and WSP before a field application.

  • The water-in-fuel droplets were applied to investigate the effect of mixing ratio between water and decane, ambient temperature, droplet size and spacing between droplets on ignition and micro-explosion in a heated chamber with high temperature. The ignition temperature of droplet was found lower as the droplet size was increased and the contents of water was decreased. The life time of droplet, however, decreases as the contents of water increases due to the micro-explosion. The occurrence of micro-explosion also increases as the size of droplets and the ambient temperature increase. The flame spread speed gets faster as the contents of water and the number of suspender decreases.

  • Biodiesel is known as an environmentally friendly neutral fuel, and a policy of obligatory mixing of a certain ratio is implemented on land. In this study, to verify the feasibility of using biodiesel as a ship fuel, component analysis, metal corrosion test, and storage stability test were performed on the mixing ratios of 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, and 20 % of marine diesel and biodiesel. Component analysis evaluated a total of eight factors including density, kinematic viscosity and flash point according to ISO 8217:2017 standards and the reliability of biodiesel through metal corrosion tests and storage stability tests under atmosphere temperature and harsh conditions (60 ℃) for 180 days. Results demonstrate that component analysis satisfied the ISO 8217:2017 standard in all biodiesel mixing ratios. Furthermore, as the biodiesel mixing ratio increased, the kinematic viscosity, density, and acid value increased and the sulfur content decreased. Metal corrosion rarely occurred in the case of carbon steel, iron, aluminum, and nickel, whereas in the case of copper, corrosion occurred under the influence of oxygen-rich biodiesel under the harsh conditions (60 ℃) of 20 % biodiesel mixture. As for storage stability, discoloration, sludge formation, and fuel separation were not visually confirmed.

  • This study was performed to extract rice protein from milled rice that is either lodged or unlodged, in order to prepare composite films by mixing the protein with curdlan or ${\kappa}$-carrageenan (3:0, 2:1, 1.5:1.5, 1:2, 0:3), and to compare the physical properties of the films. In the case of rice protein/curdlan composite films, tensile strengths increased with increasing curdlan content but water vapor permeabilities decreased, while, elongations showed a maximum at a mixing ratio of 1.5:1.5. In the case of rice protein/${\kappa}$-carrageenan composite films, tensile strengths increased with increasing ${\kappa}$-carrageenan content but elongations decreased, while water vapor permeabilities showed no tendency. Overall, there were no significant differences in the physical properties of composite films between lodged rice and unlodged rice.

  • This study was performed to elucidate the antioxidative and antiaging activities of mixed rates 2:6:2(262), 6:2:2(622) and 4:4:2(442) of fermented soybean, fermented rice bran, fermented red ginseng based on the comparision with their separate results of our three previous studies. The antioxidative and antiaging effects of 262, 622 and 442 mixed ratios were evaluated by the determination of superoxide radical scavenging activities, hydroxy radical scavenging activities, linoleic acid inhibition activtiy, elastin synthesis activity, and cell viability of B16F10. The material of 442 ratio showed the higher effects than those of 262 and 622 ratios, and presented the higher effect than the separate material of red ginseng in the antioxidative and antiaging activities. Therefore, this study suggested that the material of 442 ratio in the production of red gineng-containing cosmetics could be preferred as a useful cosmetic ingredient for antioxidation and antiaging.

  • A single lap shear test was used to investigate the effects of the ratio of a catalyst to a self-healing agent and curing temperature on the bond performance of autonomic polymer composites. DCPD (dicyclopentadiene), ENB (5-ethylidene-2-norbornene), and their mixture were used as self-healing agents and bis(triclohexylphosphine) benzyllidine ruthenium (IV) dichloride Grubbs' catalyst was used as a catalyst. During the experiments, the catalyst ratios of 1.0wt% and 0.5wt% were applied to DCPD, the catalyst ratio of 0.lwt% was applied to ENB, and the catalyst ratio of 0.5wt% was applied to the mixtutes of DPCD and ENB. In addition, the curing temperatures of $25^{\circ}C$, $60{\circ}C$, and $80^{\circ}C$ were considered. According to the results, the higher catalyst ratio and the longer curing time were required to obtain more stabilized bond shear strength of DCPD. ENB with a lower catalyst ratio was cured faster than DCPD. Unlike DCPD, ENB stabilized after a steady fall from its peak as the curing time increased. Moreover, the mixtures of DCPD and ENB revealed similar curing behavior to ENB, but the increase in mixture ratio of ENB to DCPD caused curing process to be faster. Also the increase in curing temperature caused the bond shear strength to be higher and the curing time to be quicker.
