A solution on pesticide minor use is being requested world widely on behalf of growers and for the appropriate measure for pesticide regulation. Presently, definition on "minor use" is different by country. And furthermore registration for pesticide use and the regulation approach are dependent on whether the crop is minor or major. For these reasons, management for pesticide minor use are more complicated and aggravated. This paper aimed to provide information on definition of minor use, minor use programs and regulatory incentives for minor use registration, with the purpose of supporting in developing a possible solution on minor use situation in Korea. In conclusion, two suggestions were made based on the worldwide information on pesticide minor use. First, a prudent consideration should be taken in defining minor use legally in Korea, which should include all situations regarded with minor use of pesticide, besides the use of pesticide on the crops cultivated in small area. Secondly, it is proposed to strengthen the present program, the "Ex Officio Registration" (implemented since 1998 in Korea, lead by the Rural Development Administration) by introducing a cooperative program like IR-4 Project of the USA, which is well known as an effective program for minor use solution as mentioned in the OECD guidance.
Geospatial information and technologies are considered as a fundamental element in the foreign advanced e-governments. Integration of e-Government and GIS technology should be an important task for the Korean e-government. Purpose of this study is to propose integration strategies for Korean e-Government and National GIS projects in a GIS perspective. For the successful integration this study analyzes the evolutional stages of e-Government and changes of GIS paradigms in a more comprehensive way. This study hypothesizes that integration of e-Government and GIS can create greater synergic effects fur the improved citizen services and increased efficiency of governmental administration. To verify the hypothesis, cases of advanced e-Governments in the foreign countries and progress of the Korean e-Government projects are compared and integration strategies are suggested. The strategies are as follows: expanded integration of geospatial and text-based information in e-Government for the greater synergic effects, implementation of GIS portal for e-Government, and development of a variety of geospatial information services for easy access and public participation. Most importantly, innovation of the institutional environments can be considered as an essential requirement to enhance and broaden interdepartmental partnerships. To realize the integration strategies suggested, this study presented the future projects under the following 5 topics: 'service', 'integration of information', 'technology', 'organization' and 'infrastructure for integration'. It is expected that results of this study can contribute to the bigger picture of Korean e-Government and the third National GIS master plan in 2006.

This study provides basic data for finding a plan for future teacher education in the future society by conducting an IPA-analysis of the abilities required for early-childhood who will become talented persons of the future society and the perceptions of early-childhood teachers about the era of the 4th-Industrial-Revolution. The study was conducted with 194 childhood teachers working in early-childhood educational institutions located in Jeju. It used a questionnaire of the demand survey for teacher education development for early-education based on the 4th-Industrial-Revolution. In the era of the 4th-Industrial-Revolution, the capabilities needed for early-childhood were revised and supplemented in 2016 at the World Economic Forum "Jobs Future Report". The frequencies and percentages were calculated to analyze the characteristics of each subject's background variables, the perceptions of early-childhood teachers and teacher education needs, and a t-test was conducted for each item to analyze the difference in importance and performance of early-childhood's competence. In the importance of competence required for infants who become talents for the future, the results showed that early-childhood teachers chose to have a high level of caring-sharing and curiosity-interesting ability. In the performance, they have a high level of caring-sharing and cooperation-communication ability.
Selected 11 rice transgenic lines, through preliminary yield trials on 32 lines, were evaluated on important agronomic traits as well as grain quality by conducting replicated yield trials having three replication plots. Japonica recipients, Nipponbare, Nagdongbyeo, and Dongjinbyeo, were the recipients of 7 transformed genes, which were putatively related with high yield, abiotic stress tolerance, and disease resistance. To estimate the degrees of deviations from the wild types, 11 traits of transgenic lines, relating with grain quality were evaluated and subjected to multivariate analyses. Principal coordinate and clustering analyses did not support collection manners of transgenic lines in terms of the genes transformed as well as the genetic background. Meanwhile, some transgenic lines would be acceptable due to their over-all performances were similar to their wild types, it was hardly possible to declare any transgenic line, which adhered closely to the commercial profits of wild type. Thereby, with considerations on the demanding resources in establishing rice transgenic lines having market competitiveness, it was speculated that proper application of breeding strategies would be crucial factor for the efficiency of developing prospective rice transgenic lines.
This study was conducted to evaluate the performances of rice transgenic lines along with their wild types in terms of agronomic traits. A total of 32 rice transgenic lines, through previously conducted collaborative researches between molecular biologists and conventional rice breeders, were selected as promising lines. As the introduced functional genes, 17 genes, which were putatively related with high yield, disease and herbicide resistance, abiotic stress tolerance, and diversifying endosperm starch components, were transformed into three Japonica cultivars, Nipponbare, Nagdongbyeo, and Dongjinbyeo. The transgenic lines exhibited significantly deviated performances from their wild types on agronomic traits such as days to heading, culm length and yield potential. Multivariate analyses on transgenic lines to the evaluated agronomic traits also indicated random manner of phenotypic deviations from their wild type in terms of deviation directions and degrees. Our results suggested that, therefore, breeding strategies to control unexpected deleterious phenotypic performances among transgenic lines would be critical as much as the functions and proper expressions of the transformed genes.
This study was conducted to analyze music therapy studies supporting the psychological and emotional needs of Korean women according to a feminist perspective in music therapy. A total of 34 studies were analyzed by general characteristics, characteristics of the intervention, and characteristics of a feminist perspective. Results showed that the research focus was initially on subjects who suffered from mental illness and that more recently the focus has shifted to include more diverse subjects, such as career women, women who migrate for marriage, and women who study abroad, and to reflect contemporary social issues. In terms of a feminist perspective, the studies were analyzed according to the following themes as the characteristics of a feminist perspective: empowerment, social and political perspectives, cooperativity, egalitarianism, and diversity. Results showed that social and political viewpoints were reflected in the selection of subjects and that empowerment was reflected mostly in the contents of interventions. This study highlights the need to incorporate a feminist perspective in more diversified music therapy practices to bring social changes as well as individual changes for women.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the growth of major industries and effects of regional employment on the economic growth of Goyang city and Seongnam city in Gyeonggi Province. We examine the structural changes of the industrial specialization and factors of the growth in two regions by applying Location Quotients and dynamic shift-share analysis respectively. Both regions have been strengthened gradually in their industrial bases during the last 20 years since they have developed as the bed-towns for Seoul with the First Newtown Project of the Metropolitan Seoul area. These two regions have secured in the industrial specialization and competitiveness compare to other regions in the Metropolitan Seoul area. In particular, knowledge service industries have been agglomerated in both regions. Goyang city have secured in the medical welfare, culture and tourism of service sectors, while Seongnam city have secured in the information service and science technology service sectors. Therefore, each region might be differentiated regional foster industries in these sectors in order to succeed the economic development.
There are 82 dental hygiene departments and clinical training institutes across the country with a very wide range of clinical practice content and evaluation methods, making standardization difficult. Therefore, there is a need to establish a standard protocol outlining clinical practice content and evaluation methods for systematic and efficient operation of clinical practice. Thus, this study attempted to propose such a protocol for standardization of dental hygiene clinical practice in dental clinics and hospitals to examine the contents of clinical practice by reviewing relevant literature, and relating it to professional practice within the dental hygienic curriculum to facilitate enhancement of expertise. Clinical practice content was extracted from 74 cases, and was consisted of classifying mandatory and optional clinical practice, training time, and activity methods for each component. To standardize effective clinical practice, it is necessary to organize the components acquired in the course of clinical dentistry training in line with their arrangement on each university's curriculum, in order to learn all components step by step. To do this, it is necessary to present a standardized clinical practice protocol and a organic cooperation between educational institutions and clinical training institutions.

The purpose of this study is to provide a common model and implementation strategies for reusing GIS components in local governments. The common model includes several solutions to remove stumbling blocks step by step in reusing or exchanging GIS application systems between local governments. Elements of the model are component architecture, common business process model, common function model, and data model. The elements are the minimum standards for reusability. In order to realize the desirable common model at present, however, the following problems remain : usable components are insufficient in spatial domains and existing GIS application systems require reinvestment to accommodate the new component technology. Three questions are raised to maximize reusability from a monolithic structure toward layered and the componentized GIS application systems : (1) How can the application systems be reused within a local government?, (2) Can the systems be exchanged when they are in the same computing platform?, and (3) When the systems are componentized by standardized interfaces, are the components replaceable between the systems in local governments? Some strategies are presented to accomplish the objectives implicated in the questions. For the actual implementation, several issues such as evaluation procedures for component products, ownership and commercialization issues, will be brought up in the future. Central and local governments, and commercial party need to co-operate each other to maximize the reusability. Reducing overlapping investments in local governments and obtaining competitive component technology in the commercial party should be recognized as critical tasks for the more efficient and economical GIS implementation.
