Web Search Personalization based on Preferences for Page Features (문서 특성에 대한 선호도 기반 웹 검색 개인화)

  • Web personalization has focused on extracting web pages interesting to users, to help users searching wanted information efficiently on the web. One of the main methods to achieve this is by using queries, links and users' preferred words in the pages. In this study, we surveyed from the web users the features of pages that are considered important to themselves in selecting web pages. The survey results showed that the content of the pages is the most important. However, images and readability of the page are rated as high as the content for some users. Based on this result, we present a method for maintaining relative weights of major page features differently in the profile for each user, which is used for personalizing web search results. Performance of the proposed personalization method is analyzed to prove its superiority such that it yields as much as 1.5 times higher rate than the system utilizing both queries and preferred words and about 2.3 times higher rate than a generic search engine.

  • Little Intelligent Nanosatellite of KAIST(LINK) is a 2U-size CubeSat which is developed by Aerospace Systems & Control Lab.(ASCL) of KAIST as a part of the international cooperation project QB50. The objective of the QB50 project is to carry out atmospheric research within the lower thermosphere and ionosphere and CubeSats are planned to be deployed at the International Space Station(ISS) from the first quarter of 2017. To implement this objective, a flight model(FM) of LINK has been successfully developed and the design and performance of the satellite have been verified by performing environment and function tests in accordance with acceptance requirement level. This paper describes the development of flight model and the results of vibration and thermal vacuum test.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce Naming application model for sensor networks. Currently, sensor networks comprised of sensor nodes have provided an application range which could not function before. However, unlike general network, current sensor networks are designed to cooperate with major wireless-capable sensor devices with limited resources. Thus, exporting/importing between individual sensor and current sensor networks is very inefficient and unstable. Attribute, schema and DIT(Directory Information Tree) must be designed for sensor network using SN LDAP application model in order to maintain transparency and provide constant service in a situation of data defect. With the system explained as above, Naming application model is made to manage SN Fuzzy Query. It shall be more efficient and stable structure as long as Naming application using a virtual equation in a certain environment with information collected from sensor node is provided. In this paper, I would like to introduce SN Fuzzy LDAP model for sensor network by quick Naming method. Also, naming application which is possible for fuzzy query in a certain environment based on the system will be proved.

  • Capstone design, is a heartfelt cooperation curriculum because the ultimate goal is to train people who already have the ability to complete the tasks of the job without retraining them in the field immediately after being hired. However, there is a need for the design study in the fashion industry where a variety of operating models could be tried; more specifically case studies than engineering. This study was designed to apply to the types of voluntary projects and industrial challenges linked to the different types of virtuous circle window systems over twice in two years. Result capitalization applied to different types of derived forms associated with start-up technology transfer form. In addition, start-up will be done in conjunction with student-centered forms of the participation of Cooperation Coordinator. This was weak in the form of technology transfer interventions which were made as a result of the overall involvement of the industry.   • Multicast Strategy is one of the cost-saving methods in the large scale VOD environment. However, it does involve complicated problems to implement VCR-like interactions for user's convenience in the multicast streaming system under considering the limited-server and the network's bandwidth in the multicast-transmission system. Therefore, the proper solution of settling such a problem is necessary. Thus, this paper which revised P2Patching[l] proposes LGST(Level Group Streaming Technique) which supports the VCR's function through cooperation among peers with heterogeneous bandwidth under the environment of P2P. This strategy can reduce latency by improving the acceptance of server and using the bandwidth of network efficiently. And for evaluate the proposed scheme's performance, I simulated the performance of streaming delivery topology and streaming quality in comparison with P2Patching. In evaluation to service request refusal ratio and service quality according to bandwidth decrement, the result of simulation shows that proposed LGST improves about $11{\sim}18%$ of performance than P2Patching. In the test of latency recovery according to fault probability and influence of VCR function operation duration, it shows similar performance.

  • In this paper, we explore the efficient processing of continuous range queries over a huge number of moving objects, each of which retrieves the moving objects that are currently located within a geographic query region of interest. The moving objects should continually communicate with the server to report their current locations, so as to keep the results of the continuous range queries up-to-date. However, this increases the server workload and involves a enormous amount of communication as the number of continuous range queries and the moving objects becomes enormous. In this paper, we adopt an approach where we leverage available memory and computational resources of the moving objects in order to resolve these problems. To this end, we propose a query indexing structure, referred to as the Space Partitioning Query Index(SPQI), which enables the server to efficiently cooperate with the moving objects for processing continuous range queries. SPQI improves system performance in terms of server workload and communication cost. Through simulations, we show the superiority of SPQI.

  • Communication skills are emphasized as one of the key competencies of the people who are living in the fourth industrial revolution era. However, it is widely believed that traditional education systems focused on individual learning do not provide sufficient communication opportunities. This paper proposes a method to activate communication using mobile app. In this study, app was developed and used by college students for two days, and then analyzed the communication-related effects through questionnaires. The results showed that both fun and communication were effective. Based on the experimental results, it is expected that the proposed app in this paper will contribute to activation of communication among people, increase of interest among members, and improvement of cooperative thinking ability.

A Study on the Improvement Strategies of Policy Information Services for National Library of Korea, Sejong (국립세종도서관 정책정보서비스 개선 전략 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the improvement strategies for policy information services of National Library of Korea, Sejong through analysis of their current status and problems. For the study, we conducted interviews with service providers and users and identified some issues in provision and use of the services. Specifically, we found problems of service provision system characterized by dualization and decentralization, and further identified specific issues with provision of individual services. Moreover, the interviews with service users suggested user types, user perception of the service, and problems in the use of individual services. Based on the findings, we proposed improvement strategies in six aspects: collection, services, organization, system, promotion, and cooperation. We hope these strategies contribute to vitalizing the policy information services of National Library of Korea, Sejong.

  • 인류의 활동 무대가 우주공간으로 확대됨으로써 우주기상에 의한 피해를 최소화 할 수 있는 조치가 요구됨에 따라 우주기상에 대한 감시 및 예 경보 업무가 필요해 졌다. 미국은 이미 우주기상 감시와 예보의 필요성을 인식하고 해양대기청(NOAA), 미 공군(USAF), 항공우주국(NASA), 내무부(DOI), 에너지부(DOE), 과학재단(NSF)이 연합하여 1996년 국가우주기상 프로그램(National Space Weather Program)을 수립.추진하고 있다. 특히 정부연구 기관인 NOAA 산하 우주기상예보센터(Space Weather Prediction Center; SWPC)와 미 공군 기상국(AFWA)은 우주기상 자료 생산, 수집, 자료 센터 운용, 연구 지원 및 예 경보 업무를 공동으로 수행하고 있으며 관련 자료 및 정보의 교환 등 매우 밀접하게 상호협력하고 있다. 최근 정부는 과학기술 7대 중점투자 분야별 중점육성후보기술로서 우주감시체계개발기술을 포함한 국가과학기술기본계획(577전략)을 수립 발표하였으며, 대한민국 공군은 향후 우주군 창설을 목표로 우주전력 기반체계구축을 계획하고 있다. 국방부는 2012년 전시작전통제권 환수에 대비한 독자적인 작전지휘능력 확보가 필요한 상황이며, 미래의 한국군 독자적 네트웍 중심 전장(NCW: Network Central Warfare) 체계 구축을 위해서는 미 공군의 "우주기상작전센터"와 같은 우주기상 예 경보 체계 구축이 요구된다. 이 연구에서는 군의 독자적 우주작전능력 확보를 위한 우주기상 예 경보 체계 구축 방향을 제시하고자 사전기반 연구를 수행하였다. 그 내용으로 우주기상에 대한 개요 및 우주기상의 변화에 따른 국내외 영향을 조사하고 국내외 우주기상 예 경보 시스템을 소개하고자 한다. 또한, 미공군의 우주기상 활용 상태를 점검하여 한국 공군을 위한 우주기상 예 경보 체계 구축 및 인력과 기술 확보에 대한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
