Augmented Reality Game Interface Using Hand Gestures Tracking (사용자 손동작 추적에 기반한 증강현실 게임 인터페이스)

  • Recently, Many 3D augmented reality games that provide strengthened immersive have appeared in the 3D game environment. In this article, we describe a barehanded interaction method based on human hand gestures for augmented reality games. First, feature points are extracted from input video streams. Point features are tracked and motion of moving objects are computed. The shape of the motion trajectories are used to determine whether the motion is intended gestures. A long smooth trajectory toward one of virtual objects or menus is classified as an intended gesture and the corresponding action is invoked. To prove the validity of the proposed method, we implemented two simple augmented reality applications: a gesture-based music player and a virtual basketball game. In the music player, several menu icons are displayed on the top of the screen and an user can activate a menu by hand gestures. In the virtual basketball game, a virtual ball is bouncing in a virtual cube space and the real video stream is shown in the background. An user can hit the virtual ball with his hand gestures. From the experiments for three untrained users, it is shown that the accuracy of menu activation according to the intended gestures is 94% for normal speed gestures and 84% for fast and abrupt gestures.

  • In this research, SSQ is used to validate and explore effective indices for VR sickness and to diagnose the severity of each symptom. Therefore, this research used first, third person game and $360^{\circ}$ actual content which are mainly used in existing VR contents, and measured various sickness symptoms using SSQ. Also, according to the result of statistical analysis, increased the power and contribute to identify virtual reality sickness measurement method. In addition, this research examined the difference of gender, age and the experience of virtual reality using statistical methodology, and improved diagnostic capability.

A Study on the mobile Augmented reality of game Pokemon Go (모바일 증강현실 게임 포켓몬Go의 특성 연구)

  • Recently, local game companies have been increasingly producing PC-based game that were popular with users among the existing commercialized games into mobile games through remakes. In this paper, we studied how console-based game influenced mobile augmented reality game . Through this process, we extracted five characteristics of mobile augmented reality, then interpreted and classified the meaning of this. Based on released in 2016, the scope of research is limited to console and mobile games previously released. According to the analysis, showed 50 characteristics and borrowed 78% from its existing Pokemon, 22% from its new production, and contained 24% reality. We also found that the Pokemon game series , and the exotic series had much influence on production. Based on this research data, we hope that augmented reality games for mobile will be made more active using existing game contents. It is also hope that such activities will lead to the growth of the home and abroad game industry.

Validation of G-HEXACO for Application to Game Character's Personality - Focusing on FIFA Online3- (온라인 게임 캐릭터에 성격을 적용하기 위한 G-HEXACO 타당화 연구: FIFA ONLINE3을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the present study is to build a theoretical basis for game character that represents the various personalities and interacts with the other characters in the game, applying the HEXACO theory to game character. It is hard to use the HEXACO to the game because the HEXACO is a theory based on the real world, on the contrary, the game has features of the virtual reality. Therefore, the HEXACO needs to be converted to Game HEXACO(G-HEXACO) for applying personality factors to the game character. To achieve this, we surveyed the HEXACO-PI-R and game questions related with the HEXACO factors. On the basis of the results, we designed G-HEXACO. This study means that the HEXACO could be replaced with the G-HEXACO to applying personality factors to the game character.

  • 본 논문에서는 아두이노와 블루투스 모듈이 결합된 블루이노2 보드를 활용한 컨트롤러를 제작하였다. 컨트롤러는 버튼, 아날로그 조이스틱, 자이로 센서로 구성되어 있으며 각 부품의 데이터 값을 블루투스로 전송하면 유니티 엔진을 이용하여 제작된 게임이 작동되는 것이다. 컨트롤러와 함께 구글 카드보드를 이용한 스마트폰으로 가상현실 게임을 체험 할 수 있게 된다.

  • 최근 가상현실(Virtual Reality)기술이 급격히 발전하고 있다. VR기술의 가장 큰 특징은 몰입감 증대를 통해 가상현실에서 시각적 정보를 구현한다는 것이다. 현재 군사 교육 엔터테인먼트 의료 등 매우 다양한 분야에서 콘텐츠의 개발이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그 중 게임 산업에서 주로 활용도를 높이는 것을 배경으로 하여, 본 논문에서는 VR기술의 발전사로부터 VR구현 장비인 HMD의 기술적 발전방향 연구를 통해서 미래형 HMD디자인의 방향을 고찰하고자 한다. 탐구 이를 기반으로 향호 게임마니아의 니즈에 부합한 HMD 디자인을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 오프라인에서 인기를 끌고 있는 방 탈출 게임을 가상현실로 구현하였다. 가상현실(Virtual Reality, VR)은 컴퓨터 등을 사용한 인공적인 기술로 만들어낸 실제와 유사하지만 실제가 아닌 어떤 특정한 환경이나 상황을 의미하며 만들어진 가상의(상상의) 환경이나 상황 등은 사용자의 오감을 자극하며 실제와 유사한 공간적, 시간적 체험을 하게 함으로써 현실과 상상의 경계를 자유롭게 드나들게 한다. 개발한 콘텐츠는 가상현실 이라는 공간을 초월한 개념을 통해 오프라인에서의 공간 확보 및 유지보수 비용을 절약할 수 있고 다양한 공간구현이 가능하다는 장점이 있다. 또한 네트워크 시스템적 부분인 서버를 통한 동시참여로 보다 다양하게 즐길 수 있다.

YOLO based Optical Music Recognition and Virtual Reality Content Creation Method (YOLO 기반의 광학 음악 인식 기술 및 가상현실 콘텐츠 제작 방법)

  • Using optical music recognition technology based on deep learning, we propose to apply the results derived to VR games. To detect the music objects in the music sheet, the deep learning model used YOLO v5, and Hough transform was employed to detect undetected objects, modifying the size of the staff. It analyzes and uses BPM, maximum number of combos, and musical notes in VR games using output result files, and prevents the backlog of notes through Object Pooling technology for resource management. In this paper, VR games can be produced with music elements derived from optical music recognition technology to expand the utilization of optical music recognition along with providing VR contents.

Intelligent Vocabulary Recommendation Agent for Educational Mobile Augmented Reality Games (교육용 모바일 증강현실 게임을 위한 지능형 어휘 추천 에이전트)

  • In this paper, we propose an intelligent vocabulary recommendation agent that automatically provides vocabulary corresponding to game-based learners' needs and requirements in the mobile education augmented reality game environment. The proposed agent reflects the characteristics of mobile technology and augmented reality technology as much as possible. In addition, this agent includes a vocabulary reasoning module, a single game vocabulary recommendation module, a battle game vocabulary recommendation module, a learning vocabulary list Module, and a thesaurus module. As a result, game-based learners' are generally satisfied. The precision of context vocabulary reasoning and thesaurus is 4.01 and 4.11, respectively, which shows that vocabulary related to situation of game-based learner is extracted. However, In the case of satisfaction, battle game vocabulary(3.86) is relatively low compared to single game vocabulary(3.94) because it recommends vocabulary that can be used jointly among recommendation vocabulary of individual learners.

A Study on Interest Factors of Game-based Metaverse : focused on the topic analysis of user community (게임 기반 메타버스의 사용자 흥미 요인 연구 : <동물의 숲> 사용자 커뮤니티의 토픽 분석을 중심으로)

  • Although interest in the metaverse increases due to the pandemic, the understanding of the metaverse interest factor, which is an essential element for the sustainability of any metaverse platform, is lacking. This study aims to reveal the interest factors of metaverse services by analyzing user community discourse. We collected user community discourses from and applied LDA to extract topics. Further, we categorize the factors into growth and verifiable indicators, various levels of interaction, self-expression and freedom, and connection with the real world. The content planning direction of the game-based metaverse of utilization was derived. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes the interest factors of the metaverse based on the empirical evidence of user discourse data.
