Immediate Effect of Patterned Sensory Enhancement (PSE) on Upper Limb Function after Stroke (패턴화된 감각 증진(PSE)이 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 기능에 미치는 즉각적 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate effect of Patterned Sensory Enhancement (PSE) technique on the motor function of the affected upper limb in hemiplegic stroke patients by comparing the use of PSE and simple rhythmic cue. A total of 16 stroke patients were recruited from rehabilitative hospitals. The participants were assigned to the experimental group (n = 8) and control group (n = 8). While performing six different upper limb motions, musical stimuli applying the PSE technique was presented for the experimental group and simple rhythmic cue using the metronome was applied for the control group. The results showed that while the significantly increased range of motion (ROM) was found in the experimental group with the immediate use of PSE (p < .05), the control group did not show no significant change. This study implies that the use of musical elements in cueing for upper limb motion immediately leads to significant improvement in ROM by providing sufficient temporal, spatial, and dynamic information for expected motor performance.

  • Research on biological aspects on adult depression has been subjected to more than 25 years of systematic research, while biologic investigations regarding childhood and adolescent depression are only now being initiated. Although no unifying, explanatory theory of the biologic etiology of childhood depression emerges from the results of studies reviewed above, the findings do support that biological factors may be involved in the genesis of childhood depression. The research reviewed in this paper suggests that age and pubertal factors have major effects in most biological markers of depression. Some of these markers, like sleep EEG and neuroendocrine markers should be broken down by decades during adult life span. Thus, although adult data are very valuable points of departure for biological research on child and adolescent depression, it is very hard to transfer the adult data to prepubertal children and adolescents, ignoring the biological changes that take place in growth and development, pubety and aging. A great deal of work in basic developmental neuroscience remains to be done. It will be crucial for further advances in this field to determine the normal patterns of neurotransmitter interaction in this age group and to study children at high risk for depression. It will be also crucial to use primate models of depressive illness in order to be able to answer the many queations that cannot be investigated in humans for ethical issues. Conclusively, much closer collaboration between developmental and neurobiological and behavioral studies in primates and in humans will be essential for further development.

Syntaxonomical and Synecological Description on the Forest Vegetation of Juwangsan National Park, South Korea (주왕산국립공원 삼림식생의 군락분류와 군락생태)

  • The forest vegetation of Juwangsan National Park, which is famous for its towering scenic valleys, was syntaxonomically described. The study adopted the $Z{\ddot{u}}rich$-Montpellier School's method emphasizing a matching between species composition and habitat conditions. A combined cover degree and the r-NCD (relative net contribution degree) were used to determine a performance of 265 plant species listed-up in a total of 52 phytosociological $relev{\acute{e}}s$. Nine plant communities were classified through a series of table manipulations, and their distribution and actual homotoneity($H_{act}$) were analyzed. Syntaxa described were Carex gifuensis-Quercus mongolica community, Athyrium yokoscense-Quercus mongolica communiy, Arisaema amurense-Quercus serrata community, Lespedeza maximowiczii var. tomentella-Quercus variabilis community, Tilia rufa-Quercus dentata community, Carex ciliatomarginata-Carpinus laxiflora community, Aristolochia manshuriensis-Zelkova serrata community, Onoclea orientalis-Fraxinus mandshurica community, and Carex humilis var. nana-Pinus densiflora community. A zonal distribution was reviewed and the altitude of about 700 m was the transition zone between the cool-temperate central montane zone (Lindero-Quercenion mongolicae region) and southern submontane zone (Callicarpo-Quercenion serratae region). Only 19 taxa were associated with r-NCD 10% or more, most of which were tree species occurring in the Lindero-Quercenion and some of which was a member of open forests. Species composition of forest vegetation was much less homogeneous, showing the lowest $H_{act}$. Nearly natural forests and/or secondary forests in the Juwangsan National Park were defined as a regional vegetation type, which reflects much stronger continental climate in the Daegu regional bioclimatic subdistrict, rhyolitic tuff predominant, and wildfire interference.

  • As the automobile industry and technologies are developed, driver's tend to more concern about service matters than mechanical matters. For this reason, interests about recognition of human knowledge and emotion to make safe and convenient driving environment for driver are increasing more and more. recognition of human knowledge and emotion are emotion engineering technology which has been studied since the late 1980s to provide people with human-friendly services. Emotion engineering technology analyzes people's emotion through their faces, voices and gestures, so if we use this technology for automobile, we can supply drivels with various kinds of service for each driver's situation and help them drive safely. Furthermore, we can prevent accidents which are caused by careless driving or dozing off while driving by recognizing driver's gestures. the purpose of this paper is to develop a system which can recognize states of driver's emotion and attention for safe driving. First of all, we detect a signals of driver's emotion by using bio-motion signals, sleepiness and attention, and then we build several types of databases. by analyzing this databases, we find some special features about drivers' emotion, sleepiness and attention, and fuse the results through Multi-Modal method so that it is possible to develop the system.

A Relationship between Elementary and Middle School Students’ Depression and Parenting Stress of their mothers (초ㆍ중학교 아동의 우울과 어머니의 양육스트레스와의 관계)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between elementary and middle school students’ depression and their mothers’ parenting stress. The subject were 659 elementary and middle school students and their mothers. In the study, elementary and middle school students depression appeared significant difference to their sex/grade. Parenting stress related to learning expectation appeared significant difference to elementary and middle school students’ sex/grade. Elementary and middle school students depression appeared significant difference to Parenting stress. And as for correlating parenting stress to elementary and middle school students’ depression, the significance appeared in these factors.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the application of in-depth interviews in terms of exploration on the basis of the theoretical basis of various aspects of consumer empathy, and the question of whether the consumer can expand to the process of self empathy. Most studies related to consumer empathy divide the responsive dimension of consumer empathy into rational and emotional dimension based on empathy theory, and look at the empathic response perceived by consumers to the stimulus presented from the current point of view. In this study, however, we want to go one step further and confirm that the consumers themselves can ultimately go to the self-empathy stage by forming a creative street of reproduction and redevelopment. As a result of exploratory research through in-depth interviews, it was indirectly confirmed that consumer's empathetic response to specific marketing stimulus exists at the level of creative and self-empathetic as well as the emphasis of previous studies. Based on these findings, this study confirmed that consumer empathetic responses could go beyond a single dimension to form a multidimensional structure and move toward an expanded structure of empathic self-creation. This suggests that consumers' empathic responses should be grasped in terms of continuity of empathic responses rather than explained in a specific dimension. Although this study is meaningful as an early research of exploratory nature, it is necessary to supplement various content validity and refine the research method through subsequent studies. This study is expected to expand the understanding that consumer's empathy can be extended to other people's empathy and to be self-empathy.

Ultrastructure of Antennal Sensilla on American leafminer, Liriomhyza trifolii (Diptera: Agromyzidae) (아메리카잎굴파리(Liriomyza trifolii) 촉각에 분포하는 감각기의 외부미세구조 및 형태적 특징)

  • The antennal receptors of the adult male and female of the American leafminer, Liriomyza trifolii (Diptera: Agromyzidae) was studied using the scanning electron microscopy. This antennal receptors were developed to accept the chemical or mechanical signal in the environment. The antennae of L. trifolii is 317.52 $\mu$m long and composed of the scape, pedicel, funicle, arista. Antennae located between compounds eye on the middle in the head. The result of SEM observation, four types of receptors were characterized and grouped into morphological classes: Trichoid, Basiconic, Coeloconic, Chetiform sensilla. Trichoid sensilla are located on the all segment. As a rule, female is more than male. This sensilla are long and slender hair with straight or slightly curved, and taper to a sharp point apically. Basiconic sensilla are observed only on the funicle. The number of basiconic sensilla in male and female are almost same in both sexes. This sensilla are long and thick hair with stright or slightly curved, and taper to a blunt point apically. Coeloconic sensilla are observed only on the funicle. This sensilla were showed a finger-like projections the peg apex. The number of basiconic sensilla in male and female are almost same in both sexes. Chetifarm sensilla are located on the all segment. This sensilla are needle-like, tapering sharply. Pedicel are more than scape. The number of Chetiform sensilla in male and female are almost same in both sexes.

Fragile X Syndrome and it's Association with Autism (약체X염색체 증후군과 자폐증과의 연관)

  • The fragile X syndrome, which is considered to be synonymous with the Martin-Bell syndrome, is a relatively common form of X-linked mental retardation. The syndrome seems to occure in many different ethnic groups and its prevalence among mentally retarded males has been estimated to be in the order of 2 to 6%. The karyotypic hallmark of the syndrome is made up with a pronounced constriction near each tip of the long arm of the X chromosome(fragile site), shown in vitro only under conditions in which thymidylate production is blocked(lowered folate levels). Special culture media are needed to demonstrate this constriction site. Major clinical features associated with the syndrome include macroorchidism, large or prominent ears, significant emotional and behavioral dysfunctions such as hyperactivity, self-injury, lack of eye contact and social interaction, schizophrenia, autism, etc., and speech and language dysfunctions ranging from nonverbal to verbal speech with moderate to severe expressive language delays. Some have minor clinical features in common such as an increase in birth weight high forehead, prognathism, increased head circumference in infancy and childhood which did not persist into adult life. The recent research findings have shown that the fragile X syndrome is associated with infantile autism. Many patients with the fragile X syndrome fulfill the diagnostic criteria for infantile autism. Therefore it is recommendable that any patient with developmental delays and autism or autistic manifestations should have a chromosomal analysis, including fragile X examination. In the present review, historical aspects, incidence, and clinical features are presented. Recent anecdotal reports of the association with autism and the clinical improvement following high dose folic acid treatment will be discussed.

Rice Production, Distribution, and Utilization in China (중국의 쌀 생산, 유통 및 이용현황)

  • 쌀은 중국에서 중요한 식량작물로 제9차 5개년 계획(1966-2000년) 동안 재배면적 31.4백만 ha이며 생산량은 단위 ha당 6,303kg으로 198백만톤에 이르며 이는 재배면적으로는 식량작물의 27.7%, 그리고 생산량으로는 전체식량작물의 40%를 각각 점하고 있다. 이러한 재배면적과 생산량은 각각 세계전체면적과 생산량의 20.7%와 33.7%를 차지하는 많은 량이다. 중국의 남부지역은 전지역의 73.5%가 이모작으로 재배되며 주품종은 Indica이다. 중국의 중부지역은 이모작과 일모작의 재배형태가 2:3으로 공존하고 있으며 양쯔강 이북은 주로 일모작의 형태이다. 중국의 쌀 재배면적은 1960년대 이후 점차 증가하다가 1980년대 후반으로 정체되었다가 최근 90년대 말에 이르러서는 재배면적의 감소가 가속화되고 있으나 단보당 생산량은 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 2001년 중국의 쌀소비량은 138백만톤으로 이의 85.2%는 식량용으로, 5.8%는 사료용으로, 1.3%는 가공용, 1.5-2.0%는 수출용으로 그리고 1.2%는 종자용으로 소비되었다. WTO체제에 들어서도 중국의 쌀 생산에는 크게 영향을 받지않을 것으로 여겨지는데 그 이유로는 충분한 생산능려과 자급률, 쌀의 낮은(4%) 국제교역비율, 총생산량에 대한 낮은 쿼터비율 등을 들 수 있다. 그러나 WTO체제 가입에 따른 압력 또한 존재하는 것이 사실인데 그것은 낮은 품질, 국제가격보다 높은 국내가격 등을 들 수 있다. 향후 중국 쌀의 발전적 전략들로는 쌀의 안정적 발전을 지속하는 일, 쌀 재배구조 조정과 함께 높은 미질을 가지는 품종육종, 기계화를 비롯한 경작기술의 발달, 쌀과 부산물 가공기술의 개발연구, 특징 기능을 함유하는 유전공학적 기술의 적용, 토지와 도시화 그리고 식량순환에 시스템의 개혁 등 과학기술을 고양하는 일 등을 들 수 있다.TEX>$\times$10cm의 소식일수록 짧아서 재식주수와 경장은 정의상관이 인정되었다. 9 경직경은 30$\times$10cm, 40$\times$10cm의 소식일수록 크고 20$\times$10cm의 밀식일수록 작았다 10. 수량구성요소인 주근장과 수량인 건근중은 30$\times$10cm, 40$\times$10cm의 재식주수가 적을수록 높아서 재식주수와는 부의 상관이 인정되었다. 11 이상과 같은 결과로 보아 경직경이 크고 주근장이 길어서 10a당 건근중이 많은 30$\times$10cm(33주/$m^2$)가 알맞은 재식거리였다.에 대한 인식을 새롭게 하고 농약취급시의 건강장해예방행동을 촉구하는 등의 효과도 높은 것으로 예방의학적인 유용성이 크다고 볼 수 있다. 미침을 알 수 있었다. 대두 단백질로 코팅된 golden delicious는 상온에서60일 동안 보관하였을 경우, 사과표피의 색도 변화를 현저히 지연시킴을 확인하였다. 또한 control과 비교하여 성공적으로 사과에 코팅하였으며, 상온에서 보관하여을 때 사과의 품질을 30일 이상 연장하는 효과를 관찰하였다. 이들 결과로부터 대두단백질 필름이 과일 등의 포장제로서 이용할 가능성을 확인하였다.로 [-wh] 겹의문사는 복수 의미를 지닐 수 없 다. 그러면 단수 의미는 어떻게 생성되는가\ulcorner 본 논문에서는 표면적 형태에도 불구하고 [-wh]의미의 겹의문사는 병렬적 관계의 합성어가 아니라 내부구조를 지니지 않은 단순한 단어(minimal $X^{0}$ elements)로 가정한다. 즉, [+wh] 의미의 겹의문사는 동일한 구성요 소를 지닌 병렬적 합성어([$

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a teaching learning process plan applying Keller's motive induction strategy to 'Nutrition and Meal' unit of the middle school home economics(HE). Five different problems were developed based on the 7th revised HE curriculum: "What should I do for a physical and mental health?", "What should I do to intake a required nutrient of my body?", "What should I do to take a well balanced diet?", "What should I do to build a desirable eating habits?" and "What should I do to deal with a nutrition issues?". This study was performed as the following procedures: the 'Nutrition and Meal' unit of the revised 7th middle school HE curriculum and the present HE textbooks were analyzed. And then the teaching learning process plan was designed, developed, evaluated, and revised. The motive induction strategies were developed based on the Keller's Motivational Tactics Checklist.
