  • Augmented reality is a technology for showing virtual objects overlapped with the real world as seen from the eyes of users. Studies are being conducted on effective communication methods using hand movements in augmented reality. Hand movements are an important means of human communication along with writing and voice. Space arrangement technology and hand tracking technology using markers to acquire virtual information in augmented reality have many limitations. This paper proposes tracking hand area for augmented object. The augmented objects change viewpoints by hand positions which improves the sense of three dimensions and immersion.

  • In this paper, we propose applying interactive technology in virtual environments to enhance interaction and immersion by inducing more natural movements in the gesture recognition process through the concept of affordance. A technique is proposed to recognize gestures most similar to actual hand movements by applying a line segment recognition algorithm, incorporating sampling and normalization processes in the gesture recognition process. This line segment recognition was applied to the drawing of magic circles in the <VR Spell> game implemented in this paper. The experimental method verified the recognition rates for four line segment recognition actions. This paper aims to propose a VR game that pursues greater immersion and fun for the user through real-time hand tracking technology using affordance Elements, applied to immersive content in virtual environments such as VR games.

  • This study explores the usability of extended reality (XR) content tailored for production process training, with a focus on user experience. Participants engaged with extended reality training modules, and qualitative data was subsequently collected through interviews. These interviews evaluated the hardware, user interface, and overall user satisfaction. The analysis utilized python packages for keyword extraction and word cloud visualization, offering insights into user perceptions. The findings revealed that although the hardware was deemed comfortable, concerns were raised regarding its weight and heat emission. The interactive interface, which relies on hand tracking, encountered issues with recognition rates, leading to suggestions for alternative input methods. Users acknowledged extended reality's potential impact on industries like healthcare and education, sharing both positive and negative views on the technology. This research enhances our understanding of user responses and guides the future enhancement of extended reality content for industrial applications, aiming to improve its quality and practical usability

  • Recently, unmanned terminals (kiosks) have greatly increased their scope of use by allowing orders or payments to be made efficiently while replacing existing manpower. With the acceleration of digital transformation, the rate of kiosk installations has soared, making it an important task to help all age groups easily use kiosks. In this study, based on the function of the game engine and Hand Tracking technology, we developed content that can conduct kiosk education in a virtual world. The goal of this content is to help users unfamiliar with kiosks confidently cope with real-world situations by experiencing visual and auditory stress caused by waiting guests in virtual reality. To this end, two VR contents were developed. One is a simple kiosk experience content, and the other is specialized content that causes visual and auditory stress. The experiment was divided into two groups: one group experienced general VR content, while the other group experienced specialized VR content. After the experience, both groups proceeded to place orders in an actual store. Survey results showed that 85% of the experimental group and 95% of the control group were satisfied with the training. This confirms that the specialized experience described in this paper is effective for kiosk education.
