Relations NOAA/AVHRR SST between Migratory Fishes in the Korean Seas (NOAA/AVHRR SST 자료를 이용한 한반도 주변해역에서의 수온과 어장변화특성 연구)

  • It was studied to the displacement and the amount of catch for migratory fishes with NOAA/AVHRR SST(Sea Surface Temperature) from 1988 to 2000 in the Korean Seas. The analyzed results from SST data showed generally the oceanic warming trend in the Korean Seas. On the increasement of SST, the distributed areas of migratory fishes which living in the warm waters were displaced gradually to the northward directions(high latitude) and then the amount of catch was increased during this studied periods against to migratory fishes which living in the cold waters.

  • 매년 여름철 피서지 1순위로 손꼽히는 해수욕장은 해양레포츠의 발달과 관광사업의 촉진으로 수많은 관광객들이 방문하고 있다. 하지만 우리나라 대부분의 해수욕장에서는 건전한 해수욕을 위한 수질안전지표 설정이 매우 미흡한 편이며 오염수준 또한 심각하다. 이에 강원도 강릉시 경포해수욕장을 대상지역으로 2012년 7월 17일부터 9월 4일까지 매주 화요일 오전에 채취한 시료로부터 병원성 수질지표인 장구균과 대장균, 총대장균군의 오염도를 분석하였다. 시료는 경포해수욕장 오리바위 배후부터 연안방향을 따라 200m 간격으로 3지점과 이안방향을 따라 백사장(dry beach), 포말대(swash zone), 유영층(swimming zone)의 3지점에서 총 9개를 채취하였다. 기온, 강우, 장소 등의 해안 환경 변화에 따른 병원균 증식 유리조건 및 인자들간의 상관성을 분석한 결과 백사장에서는 총대장균군, 포말대에서는 장구균, 유영층에서는 대장균의 농도가 가장 높았다. 또한 주간 누적 강우량과 평균 기온에 따라 시료채취 지점마다의 상관성에서는 백사장은 강우량과 정비례, 기온과는 반비례, 포말대와 유영층은 강우량과 반비례, 기온과는 정비례의 관계를 보였다. 백사장과 해수층인 포말대, 백사장과 유영층 각각은 반비례 관계를 보였지만 미비한 수준이었으며 포말대와 유영층간의 상관성은 약 90%의 매우 높은 수치를 띄었다. 본 연구는 건전한 수계 레크레이션 문화의 수질 안전지표 설정을 위해 해수욕장의 대표 관광명소 중 하나인 경포해수욕장을 대상으로 병원성 수질 지표들의 증식 유리 조건 및 확산특성 예측에 목적이 있다. 나아가 본 과정은 해변을 찾는 관광객들의 수질 안전 정보 제공 및 체계적인 가이드라인 제시로도 가치 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Stabilizing Capability of Oyster Shell Binder for Soft Ground Treatment (표층/심층혼합처리용 굴패각 고화재의 고화성능 평가)

  • An experimental study was carried out to investigate the stabilizing capability of oyster shell binder, which was developed using waste oyster shell inducing environmental pollutions by piling up out at the open or the temporary reclamation. The purpose of this paper is to compare stabilinzing capability of oyster shell binder and cement binder with treated soils. For this, a series of compressive laboratory tests were peformed to evaluate strength characteristics of treated soils by both oyster shell binder and cement binder with varing water content of dredged soils, different mixing rates of binder and curing days. Based on test results, eco-friendly binder manufactured by oyster shells showed more stabilizing capacity than cement binder and is estimated as good resource materials for soft soil improvements.

  • 급격한 도시화 및 기후변화로 인한 물순환체계가 왜곡됨에 따라 자연수재해 피해가 급증하고 있어 대응방안으로 저영향개발(Low Impact Development, LID) 기법이 대두되고 있다. LID 요소 기술 중 하나인 식생저류지는 도시 유역내에서 발생하는 유출수를 저류 및 침투하여 우수유출수와 비점오염원으로 인한 오염저감 효과를 지니고 있는 LID 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 식생저류지의 우수유출수의 정량적 저감효과를 분석하기 위해 수문해석 프로그램인 K-LIDM(Korea Low Impact Development Model)을 이용하여 유역 내 식생저류지 배열과 저류용량에 따른 유출저감 효과를 분석하였다. 강우시나리오는 부산지점의 10년, 30년 발생빈도에 대하여 60분, 120분, 180분 확률강우시나리오를 선정하여 적용하였다. 모델링 분석결과 식생저류지 배치에 따라 5 ~ 15 % 이상의 유출저감효과가 산정되었으며, 식생저류지 저류용량에 따라 20 % 이상의 유출저감 효과가 산정되었다. 첨두유출 도달시간은 1.13 ~ 1.86배를 지연하는 결과가 산정되었다. 결과를 통해 식생저류지의 배열과 저류용량에 따라 유출량 저감효과와 첨두유출 도달시간에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다. 추후에 다른 매개변수인 식생저류지의 저류깊이, 지반의 침투능 및 유출부의 직경 등 여러 매개변수들을 고려한 연구를 수행한다면 식생저류지의 정량적 물순환 평가가 수행될것으로 사료된다.

  • 전 세계적인 기후변화로 인하여 선박 내 이용되는 물과 관련된 배출 규제도 매년 강화되고 있는 추세이다. 심해지는 규제를 만족하기 위하여 다양한 선박용 수처리 기술이 개발되고 있으며, 고도화 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선박 내에서 이루어지는 수처리 공정인 선박 평형수(ballast water)처리, 조수기(fresh water generator)를 통한 선박 내 용수 공급, 대기오염 저감을 위한 스크러버(wet scrubber) 폐세정수 처리 공정과 관련된 국제해사기구(international maritime organication, IMO)와 같은 국제적인 규제 및 특정지역과 연안에 위치한 주정부 기관의 규제 현황에 대해 문헌조사를 통해 정리하였다. 이를 바탕으로 다양한 선박 내 수자원 활용과 규제에 부합하기 위해 적용되고 있는 관련 수처리 기술을 용도별로 정리하였으며, 현재 기존기술의 효율 개선 및 신기술 도입과 관련된 연구 현황을 정리하였다. 이러한 선박 내 수처리 현황 및 향후 적용될 기술개발연구를 바탕으로 지속가능한 해양환경 조성 및 기후변화 대응이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

Numerical Simulation of Irregular Airflow in OWC Wave Generation System Considering Sea Water Exchange (해수교환을 고려한 진동수주형 파력발전구조물에서 불규칙공기흐름에 관한 수치해석)

  • Due to the global warming and air pollution, interest in renewable energies has increased in recent years. In particular, the crisis of the depletion of fossil energy resources in the near future has accelerated the renewable energy technologies. Among the renewable energy resources, oceans covering almost three-fourths of earth's surface have an enormous amount of energy. For this reason, various approaches have been made to harness the tremendous energy potential. In order to achieve two purposes: to improve harbor water quality and to use wave energy, this study proposed a sea water exchange structure applying an Oscillating Water Column (OWC) wave generation system that utilizes the air flow velocity induced by the vertical motion of water column in the air chamber as a driving force of turbine. In particular, the airflow velocity in the air chamber was estimated from the time variations of water surface profile computed by using 3D-NIT model based on the 3-dimensional irregular numerical wave tank. The relationship of the frequency spectrums between the computed airflow velocities and the incident waves was analyzed. This study also discussed the characteristics of frequency spectrums in the air chamber according to the presence of the structure, wave deformations by the structure, and the power of the water and air flows were also investigated. It is found that the phase difference exists in the time series data of water level fluctuations and air flow in the air chamber and the air flow power is superior to the fluid flow power.

  • Recently, our ocean development paradigm is changing so that the development focus has been moved from the port facility developments to creating useful marine space. This paradigm accords well with the current green technology and helps the growth of service industries and the development from this paradigm can become a national land mark. Accordingly, the concept of creating marine waste landfill by the development of resource recycling technology has been introduced for eco-friendly space as an artificial island in future. Therefore, this study introduces the reactive vertical drainage method that is to pursue the purification of pollutants as well as stabilization of newly deposited soils in marine environments. To install the reactive vertical drainage piles for more effective feasibility and constructability, placements of drainage mid-layer are considered in the geotechnical viewpoint. Consolidation characteristics were evaluated by standard consolidation tests after several types of model test. As s result, the application of mid-layer drainage is strongly recommended in the reactive vertical drainage to quickly stabilize newly deposited soils. And vacuum consolidation method has better consolidation characteristic than vertical loading method in terms of the settlements predicted by additional stress for further use as an artificial island.

Effects of Coastal Environment by Discharge from the Sewage Treatment Plant (해안방류된 하수처리수가 해양환경에 미치는 영향)

  • Most sewage treatment plants located offshore are discharged to the shore either directly or through rivers. Therefore, the water quality of the treated water discharged from the sewage treatment plant affects the water quality of the river water discharged to the river and the ocean. In this study, field surveys and numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the effect of treated water from the sewage treatment plant adjacent to the coastal environment. As a result of analyzing the water quality and sediment quality with the samples collected from the river and the estuary where the treated water was discharged to understand the impact on the coast, the treated water discharged from the sewage treatment plant was discharged to the river without exceeding the design criteria. However, the water quality discharged to the shore through estuaries was more contaminated than treated water. The cause of water quality deterioration of coastal effluent is due to the sedimentation of estuary temporarily by longshore sediment sransport which appeared around the estuary, the occurrence of estuary obstruction, and the increase of stagnant time in the estuary. As it was released and discharged, it was analyzed to affect the water quality, water quality and marine life around the estuary. Therefore, in the case of the east coast where the longshore sediment transport is strong, when planning the sewage treatment facility discharged to the ocean, it is necessary to closely examine the water quality change of the river water in the treated water such as the river mouth occlusion by the longshore sediment transport.

A Study on the Effects of High-lift Rudder on Ship's Maneuverability (고 양력 타가 선박의 조종성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, a vessel's maneuvering performance is considered to be an important subject as marine pollution from the ships that stranded on a rock becomes more severe. So, IMO(International maritime organization) has adopted Resolution MSC.l37 to enhance international standards of ship's maneuverability. There's more than one way to improve ship's maneuverability. This research focused on improving ship's maneuverability by high-lift rudder. To predict the maneuverability, the numerical simulation model was used. The evaluation of maneuverability was carried out by turning test and zig-zag test. The results obtained with these simulation showed that the high-lift rudder would be effective in improving the turning ability of the ship. But it was clarified that there Has a possibility that course changing ability night become bad through an increase of rudder lift.

A Basic Study on Establishment of Sea Trial Prohibition Waterway Based on Marine Traffic Survey (해상교통량 조사 기반 시운전금지해역 설정 기초 연구)

  • Korea has very strong shipbuilding industry in the world, so many new ships are constructed in Korean shipyards. These built vessels are carrying out sea trial at sea before delivering to shipowner, and sea trial ships cause navigation risk to other passing vessels to accomplish sea trial tests as quick turning, zigzag maneuvering and crash astern etc. in traffic congestion conditions. It occurred more than 1 collision accident related sea trial for recent 5 years. It has been increased about 30% of risk because of navigation of sea trial vessel by marine traffic flow simulation. This paper analyzed marine traffic density surveyed by AIS data for 7 days, and investigated position of marine accidents for 5 years in Korean coastal waterway, it established the sea trial prohibition areas as 10/100 level of total marine traffic volume, which is considered no danger for ship operator. This analyzed maritime safety law for setting of the prohibition waters to propose the basic legal system. It makes contribution to marine pollution prevention by setting of the sea trial prohibition water to improve the ship's navigation safety.
