  • 초고속해상무선통신망은 연안으로부터 100km 까지 전국 3해안(동 서 남해)에 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 통신 체계를 구축하여 항해 중인 선박(어선, 소형선박, 상선 등)을 대상으로 해상 e-Navigation 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 논문은 초고속해상무선 통신망의 품질검증 기준이 되는 연안으로부터의 통신서비스 제공 거리, 전송 속도, 전송성공률 및 커버리지 기준 등에 대해 검토해 보고 각 기준 수립을 위해 고려되어야 할 주요 쟁점 사항을 논의해보고자 한다.

Statistical Analysis of VHF Channel Over the Sea Surface for Various Ranges (거리에 따른 해상 초단파 채널의 통계적 특성 분석)

  • VHF is generally used for data or voice communications between ships and land stations. Although there exist many analytical and empirical channel models for radio waves on land, over-the-sea models are very limited to basic description. In this paper, a VHF channel is measured using vertical and/or horizontal whip antennas on shore and a moving ship for various ranges. The results show that the Doppler shift and changes in power for various ranges are observed. We can also find that the statistical analysis results in that the statistical parameters are rapidly changes, especially for V/H and H/V channels.

  • Marine disaster, such as 'Dolphin Lake ship', "the Sewol ferry', on the ocean needs emergency communication with land post and Rescue services. It needs of emergency communication system has increased in Republic of Korea peninsula with the sea on three side. The system will be more fully equipped to deal with disasters linked to communication so alone sailing ship is at sea. Research is needed on communication links to submarines operated by submarine to sink a ship, as well as immersion in the sea with. And it is necessary in the study of the land in preparation for the emergency disaster ship and submarine communication links for offshore and subsea oil and associated communication systems. Will be studied in preparation for the communication protocols and emergency and disaster location and land the plane or for a career in the satellite systems are linked through this.

  • Currently, the communication between land and sea using Inmarsat terminal can communicate telephone, telex, fax, e-mail, data transmission. The exist e-mail program between land and sea has developed to reduce communication fee because of high satellite communication coast and low speed. In case of fax service has defect of paper, out-time, high cost. In this paper, we describes the design of fax service system based on Internet for land and sea. This fax system has been integrate e-mail system function and existing fax system function. For this purpose, the hardware module has connect e-mail system and PSTN.

  • This paper presents the definition and importance of ship-centric direct communication concerning ship safety of maritime autonomous and unmanned ships. It also proposes the concept of MX-S2X communication based on high frequency for wide-bandwidth technology and describes the design and simulation result for the physical layer of MX-S2X. It considered high-speed communication as well as overcoming maritime multi-path fading required to be resolved in the marine environment. The physical layer of MX-S2X communication was designed to overcome the occurrence of error-floor caused by multi-path fading even with receiving sufficient signal strength. To this purpose, a performance analysis was conducted on the physical layer by applying the channel model of the actual maritime communication environment. As a result of the performance analysis of the MX-S2X physical layer, it was confirmed that the BER error-floor observed in the VDE physical layer test was overcome, and it operated within the SNR 2dB degradation range compared to the AWGN channel. It is expected that this will show enough performance suitable for short-distance ship-centered direct communication and can be used for direct communication of maritime autonomous ships, unmanned ships, and group navigation of themshortly.

Design of a Multi-Band Network Selection System for Seamless Maritime Communication Networks (단절 없는 해상 통신 네트워크를 위한 멀티대역 네트워크선택기 시스템 설계)

  • As digital communication technology evolves, the diversity of maritime communication methods has benn increasing due to the emergence of new maritime communication technologies such as digital very high frequency (VHF) communication systems and LTE-M as well as traditional conventional maritime communication systems. At sea, all maritime communication methods may be available, but only some communication methods may be available depending on the location. In this paper, we propose a multi-band network selection (MNS) system that can provide seamless maritime communication service by switching to an optimal communication band among available communication systems, depending on network environment and user requirements. The proposed MNS system in the middleware layer is designed to be able to interface with two types of digital VHF communication systems that satisfy Annex 1 and Annex 4 of ITU-R M. 1842-1, LTE, and high frequency (HF) communication systems. We assign priority to each communication band, and design an optimal communication band determination algorithm based on this priority.

  • AIS는 선박국과 선박국, 선박국과 해안국간의 선박 항행 안전을 위한 시스템으로 운용되었으나 최근에는 항행원조, 조난구조, 소형 선박 등에 탑재되어 해상 안전 확보를 위한 범위를 확대하고 있으며 차세대 해상 항행 시스템인 Electronic-Navigation을 구축하기 위한 핵심 통신 장비로 위치를 확고히 하고 있다. 또한 위성을 이용해서 기존 가시권 통신 범위를 벗어나 장거리 통신도 가능하도록 보완되고 있으며 연근해에서도 산란이나 덕팅 등 전파 현상을 활용해서 통신 범위를 확장하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 기술적인 연구 결과들이 ITU, IEC 등 관련 국제 표준에 반영되고 있다. 본 눈문에서는 최근 ITC, IEC 등에서 AIS 관련 국제 표준 개정 현황을 분석하고 비교하였다. 특히 ITU-R M.1381 개정에서 변경 및 추가된 기술 항목에 대해서 분석하고 기술하였다.
