Sponges of the genus Sarcotragus are very poorly known in the world. Two new species of Sarcotragus, S. maraensis n. sp. and S. gapaensis n. sp., are described from Korea.

Two new species of the family Irciniidae, Psammocinia wandoensis n.sp. and P.samyangensis n. sp., are described. They were collected from the South Sea, Korea. P. wandoensis n. sp. closely resembles P. rugosa(Lendenfed, 1889)from Australia in morphology, but new species differs from P. rugosa by the filaments. Though P. samyangensis n. sp. is very similar to P. jejuensis, but our species differs from P. Jejuensis by the fibre shape.

Saringosterols have been isolated from the sponge Penares incrustans. The structure of these compounds have been determined by extensive 2-D NMR experiments such as $ ^1 H$ COSY, HMQC, and HMBC and by comparison with published data. Assignment for carbons of saringosterols for the first time has been done.

Two species of Haplosclerida (subclass Ceractinomorpha) are described from Kojedo. One species, Taxadocia daepoensis n. sp. is new to science and the other, Callyspongia subarmigera, is new to Korean fauna

Some marine sponges were collected from intertidal zone of Jeju Island with hands during the period from 2000 to 2002 Among them, two species, Strongylacidon conulosa Bergquist and Fromont, 1988 and Haliclona brøndstedi Bergquist and Warne, 1980 are newly recorded in Korea.

The sponge specimens were collected from Geojedo Island, Korea During from 1994 to 1998 with fishing nets or by scuba divers. They were identified into 34 species of 25 genera in 15 families, of which the one species, Tedania rhoi is a new speices, and Clathria (Axociella) simae is new to the Korean fauna. This species were redescribed.
