국산 Propolis의 항균 ${\cdot}$ 살균효과에 대한 연구(II)

  • Propolis는 꿀벌이 다양한 식물로부터 모아온 수지상의 물질이며 꿀벌의 분비물과 수목의 삼출액 등의 다양한 형태를 함유하고 있다. Propolis는 고대로부터 항생작용과 상처치유에 효과적인 혼합물로 알려져 있다. 또한 에탄올 추출 Propolis는 항박테리아, 항미생물, 항곰팡이, 마취성, 항염증, 통증저하, 면역상승과 세포증식억제작용 특성과 같은 약물학적 활성을 나타낸다고 알려져 있다. 이 연구에서는 국내산 Crude Propolis로부터 얻어진 EEP의 첨가가 미생물의 성장에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Paper Disc Diffusion Method와 균주의 성장에 따른 저해 정도를 확인하기 위한 20mg EEP/100mL MH배지에서도 균주의 성장을 저해함을 확인할 수 있었다. 70% EEP와 95% EEP에서 모두 저해를 확인할 수 있었고95% EEP에서 저해활성이 더 좋았다.

Antifungal Activity of Korean Radish (Raphanus sativaus L) Extracts Against Pathogenic Plant (한국산 무 추출물의 곰팡이 병균에 대한 항진균성)

  • A study of the anti-fungal properties in Korean radish was conducted using a variety of purification procedures such as Extrelut column, RP(Reverse Phase) Cl8 Column Chromatography, HPLC etc. to separate anti-fungal substances from Korean radish juices to test them against a common gray mold called Botrytis cenerea. Dialysis tube operation showed that these substances were presumably thermostable compounds with low molecular mass (less than 3.5 kDa). Differences of anti-fungal activities depending upon types of radishes used did not show any noticeable variation. The antifungals were presumably composed of more than 5 compounds. Among these, the most anti-fungal fraction was analyzed by HPLC in which one peak was obtained. Disease-affected plants were inoculated with 10mg of Extrelut fraction and results showed similar anti-fungal activity to pesticides suggesting possible usage of these substances as environmentally friendly antibiotics.

Protein Characteristics of Ovotransferrin Under the pH and Temperature and Its Anti-microbial Activity (Ovotransferrin의 pH 및 온도에 따른 단백질 및 항균 특성)

  • Protein function of ovotransferrin with various pH and temperature, and its antimicrobial characteristics were determined. Foaming ability of ovotransferrin was high in alkali condition (pH 11), then diminished as time follows. In acidic condition (pH 3.0), very little amount of foam was produced and disappeared promptly in 30min. However, neutral condition (pH 7.0) was revealed as the best area for foam production and foam stability of ovotransferrin. Temperature effect on foam stability of ovotransferrin showed that the highest foam was produced at 60℃. Ovotransferrin was shown weak antimicrobial activity against E. Coli, S .typhi, P. aerug and Candida albicans at dose of 12.5mg/ml and 25mg/ml. Anti-microbial effect of ovotransferrin with either lysozyme or albumine on pathogenic bacteria and fungi shows that the most effective dose was 25mg/ml, especially on S. typhi and C. albicans.

Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Effects of Functional Healthy Drinks from Some Medicinal Herbs and Coffee Mixture (약용식물과 커피 혼합물로부터 기능성 건강음료의 항균 및 항산화 효과)

  • In this study, our investigated the antioxidant activities and compared other bioassay including anti-microbial, antifungal activities and total polyphenol contents of functional healthy drinks from some medicinal herbs and coffee mixture. The kind of medicinal herbs, chaga mushroom (Inonatus obliqurs), moringa (Moringa Oleifera), gravila (Anona muricata), mulberry (Morus alba), Dioscoreaceae (Dioscorea quinquelaba), Berberidaceae (Epimedii Herba), Asteraceae (Artemisia capillaries) and siberian ginseng (Acanthopanax senticous,). The functional healthy drinks, named C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7 were summered in Table 1. The in vitro antimicrobial activity was examined against Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria and a fungus. The functional healthy drinks were broad spectrum of anti-microbial activity without antifungal activity against Candida albicans KCTC7965. In particularly, the C7 showed strong activity against Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus CCARM3089, CCARM 3115 and CCARM3561. And, the C7 showed 88% of free radical scavenging effect on 0.5 mg/ml using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. Functional healthy drink C7 was mulberry extracts from Morus alba, chaga mushroom from Inonatus obliqurs and moringa from Moringa olifera in additionally coffee extracts. Its results confirm that the potential use of mulberry extracts as a good source of antibacterial compounds or as a health promoting food and health drinks.

Anti-bacterial and Anti-fungal Effects of Herbal Oil Made from Vateria acuminata Hyne (Vateria acuminata Hyne으로 만든 오일의 항세균 및 항진균 효과)

  • An Ola leaf manuscript, which consists of words carved on an Ola leaf and is filled up with a mixture of herbal oils made from Vateria acuminata Hyne and charcoal, is one of the native writing media in Sri Lanka. According to historical records, Ola leaf manuscripts had been used from the 1st to the 18th century A.D. From the recent findings that Ola leaf manuscripts have been preserved well for the past 400 years and are in good state of preservation, it is supposed that herbal oils preserve Ola leaves against environmental and biological factors such as fungi and insects. To evaluate the anti-biological susceptibility of the herbal oils, the molds isolated from wooden printing blocks in Janggyeong Panjeon of Haeinsa Temple in South Korea and bacteria and fungi isolated from Ola leaves were cultured. After spreading the microorganisms suspension on an agar plate, a disk paper containing a certain volume of herbal oil was placed on the agar plate. It was found in the experiment that herbal oil exhibits a clear zone, which is optically clear and inhibits the growth of microorganisms, against some molds and bacteria. The study results indicate that the herbal oil from the plant Vateria acuminata Hyne has the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

함수특성을 이용한 실내공기 정화(포름알데히드 제거)용 마감재

  • 최근들어 비금속광물의 구조적 특성을 이용한 활용분야가 매우 다양해지고 있다. 특히 판상광물은 차폐(은폐)력이 매우 우수하고, 층간특성을 이용한 흡착 및 저장특성이 매우 우수하다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 판상광물의 기본의 특성에 또 다른 기능성 물질을 흡착시킴으로써 부가적인 새로운 기능성을 갖는 친환경성 건축소재를 개발하고자 천연산 인상흑연 및 견운모를 기능성 모소재로 사용하고 미립화 및 표면 환경기능화를 위하여 BMK로 흑연입자 표면을 기능화하였다. 제조된 기능성 마감재인 닥터하우스를 모르타르에 도포하여 다양한 기능성을 측정한 결과 78% 이상의 유해가스(포름알데히드) 정화제거효과 및 99.9% 이상의 항균, 항곰팡이 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 전기 및 전자산업의 발달과 더불어 규석 관련 제품에 대하여 고기능성 초미립 분말이 요구되고 있으며, 한편으로는 취급과 활용성이 우수한 형상인 구형 분말을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 평균 입도 1.0$\mu\textrm{m}$이하의 규석 초미립 분말 제조기술 개발과 유기용매 및 계면활성제 등을 첨가하여 형상이 구형인 기능성 분말과 항균, 항곰팡이 효과가 우수한 교질 상태의 실리카를 제조하여 기능성 재료 및 코팅용 실란 등에 활용이 가능하도록 물리적 단순공정을 통하여 평균 입도 1.0$\mu\textrm{m}$이하의 초미립 규석분말을 제조함으로써 고무, 타이어, 토너, 도료, EMC(epoxy molding compound) 등의 충전제, 이형제, 연마재 등으로 활용이 가능하게 하였으며 제조된 규석 초미립 분말은 분산성이 양호하도록 spray dryer 방법으로 건조하여 각 제품에 알맞은 적용이 용이하도록 하였다.

A Study on the Properties of Cement Mortar with Modified Oyster Shell Powder (개질 굴 패각 미분말을 첨가한 시멘트 모르터의 특성)

  • NaOH 용액 처리로 제조한 개질 굴 패각 미분말은 98.7 wt%의 CaCO$_3$와 1.3 wt%의 chitosan으로 구성되어 있으며, chitosan의 탈아세틸화는 74.9%이었다. 개질화함으로서 입경은 작아지고 비표면적은 증가하였으며, 밀도는 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 입자 형상은 모서리가 각지고 매끄러운 형태에서 모서리가 침식되고 표면이 다공성인 환상의 형태로 변화되었다. 개질 굴 패각 미분말을 시멘트 대신 5.0 wt%까지 치환했을 때의 모르터의 압축강도는 치환량이 증가할수록 증가하였고, 흡수율은 치환량이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 굴 패각 미분말은 대장균 및 황색포도상구균에 대해 항균력이 나타나지 않았으나, 개질 굴 패각 미분말은 5.0 wt% 첨가했을 때 99.8-99.9%의 항균력을 나타냈다. 또한 KS M 5000에 의한 항곰팡이 시험은 피막이 변색이나 변형이 전혀 없는 10등급으로 판정되었다.

  • According to the increases the standard of living of the people, requirements for building environments are also being diversified. The fungus that occurred the building is not good the health of occupants as well as undermine the value of the building. However, chemical antimicrobial agent contain ingredients harmful to human body and it has an impact on indoor air quality. Therefore, the use of natural antimicrobial material is strongly required. In this study, the fungal reproductive inhibit capacity was evaluated by using mortars with natural antimicrobial material.

Structural Analysis of the Antifungal Antibiotic from Bacillus sp. YJ-63. (Bacillus sp. YJ-63이 생산하는 항곰팡이 항생물질의 구조분석)

  • Structural analysis was performed by the $^1$H-NMR, $^{13}$ C-NMR, amino acid composition analysis and FAB-mass. The instrumental analysis represented that the potential antifungal antibiotic belonged to the iturin E group antibiotic, consisting of 7 $\alpha$-amino acid residues and a collection of $\beta$-amino acid with aliphatic side chain. Compared to the Iturin E group, notably, the potent antifungal antibiotic from Bacillus sp. YJ-63 carried longer $\beta$-amino acid side chain. In conclusion, these findings identified a potential antibiotic, which contained a stable cyclopeptide structure with long $\beta$-amino acid side chain.
