The Conjecture of Anti-Derivative Graph of Engineering Students (공대생의 역도함수 그래프 추측)

  • To engineering students, calculus is essential knowledges and skills as a mathematical model and give a perspective to observe phenomenon in the future industrial field. However, engineering students' calculus study tends to solve problems by only applying the mechanical calculation and mathematical results. This study aimed to make engineering students realize the importance of calculus and untypical problems, by suggesting problems that could apply the mathematical concepts and principles and even solve the actual conditions of the problems. Students conjectured the anti-derivative graphs by interpreting the given derivate problems. They showed errors in this process and the errors are contributed by their mathematics leaning styles. As a result, the task would be helpful to engineering students.

  • 본 연구는 객체지향형 교육용 프로그래밍 언어인 두리틀(Dolittlee)을 수학교수-학습에 활용하기 위한 연구의 일부이다. 본 논문에서는 세 명의 고등학교 1학년 학생을 대상으로 7차 교육과정상의 중등 함수단원을 중심으로 함수의 그래프에 대한 두리틀 프로그래밍 활동을 안내적 교수법으로 진행하고 그 결과를 분석하여, 두리틀 프로그래밍 활동이 함수의 개념 형성에 미치는 영향을 관찰하고 컴퓨터 친밀도와 수학적 성향이 프로그래밍 학습에 어떠한 영향을 주는지에 관하여 고찰하였다. 연구 결과, 두리틀을 이용한 함수의 그래프 그리기 활동은 학생들에게 함수의 기본 개념과 그래프의 성질을 이해하는데 효과적이었으며, 두리틀 프로그래밍 탐구 활동에 있어 학생들의 수학 성취도보다는 수학에 대한 긍정적인 성향과 컴퓨터와의 높은 친밀도가 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 확인하였다.

  • Google map has become one of the most recognized and comfortable means for providing statistical information of geographically referenced data. In this article, we introduce R functions to embed google map images on R interface and develop a function to represent statistical graphs such as bar graph, pie chart, and rectangle graph on a google map images.

  • This study analyzes modes related to use of graph representation that appears to solve high school students quadratic function problem based on the graph using modes of Chauvat. It was examined the extent of understanding of the quadratic function of students through the flexibility of the representation of the Bannister (2014) from the analysis. As a result, the graph representation mode in which a high school students are mainly used is a nomographic specific mode, when using operational mode, it was found to be an error. The flexibility of Bannister(2014) that were classified to the use of representation from the point of view of the object and the process in the understanding of the function was constrained operation does not occur between the two representations in understanding the function in the process of perspective. Based on these results, the teaching on use graph representation for the students in classroom is required and the study of teaching and learning methods can understand the function from various perspectives is needed.

A Study on the Constructing the Function using Extension Edge Valued Graph (모서리값 확장 그래프를 사용한 함수구성에 관한연구)

  • In recently years, many digital logic systems based on graph theory are analyzed and synthesized. This paper presented a method of constructing the function using edge valued extension graph which is based on graph theory. The graph is applied to a new data structure. from binary graph which is recently used in constructing the digital logic systems based on the graph theory. We discuss the mathematical background of literal and reed-muller expansion, and we discuss the edge valued extension graph which is the key of this paper. Also, we propose the algorithms which is the function derivation based on the proposed edge valued extension graph. That is the function minimization method of the n-variables m-valued functions and showed that the algorithm had the regularity with module by which the same blocks were made concerning about the schematic property of the proposed algorithm.

  • As one of the techniques for analyzing malicious code, techniques creating a sequence or a graph of function call relationships in an executable program and then analyzing the result are proposed. Such methods generally study function calling in the executable program code through static analysis and organize function call relationships into a sequence or a graph. However, in the case of an obfuscated executable program, it is difficult to analyze the function call relationship only with static analysis because the structure/content of the executable program file is different from the standard structure/content. In this paper, we propose a dynamic analysis method to analyze the function call relationship of an obfuscated execution program. We suggest constructing a function call relationship as a graph using the proposed technique.

A study about Graph Representation of Function of College freshmen (대학 신입생들의 함수의 그래프 표현에 관한 연구)

  • It is said that the university mathematics education in Korea faces critical situations due to the decreases of both qualities and quantities of students. In this paper we examine college students in order to know their basic ability for understanding about fundamental functions, such as polynomial, trigonometric, logarithm and exponential functions which have learned from highschool mathematics courses. The subject are 354 freshmen of 4 universities located in Daejeon and Chongchung area. The result of this study shows as follows. i ) More than half students are not able to draw graphs of given functions, except polynomial. ii ) More students do not fully understand about function properties such as domain, codomain, range, max and min value, cycle and parallel translation.

  • 영상기반의 3자원 복원(reconstruction)에 대한 연구가 컴퓨터 성능의 발전과 다양한 영상기반의 복원 알고리즘의 연구로 인해 최근 좋은 결과를 보이고 있으나, 이는 얼굴영역과 같은 목적이 되는 영역이 각 입력영상으로부터 미리 정확하게 추출되어 있다고 가정하기 때문이다. 일반적으로 목적이 되는 영역을 추출하기 위해 차영상이 많이 이용되고 있지만 차영상은 잡음과 구멍(hole)과 같은 오 추출된 영역이 발생하기 때문에 목적이 되는 영역을 3차원으로 복원을 할 때 심각한 오류를 초래할 수 있다. 전경물체(목적이 되는 영역)을 정확하게 추출하기 위해 최근 그래프 컷(graph cut)을 이용한 방법이 다양하게 시도되고 있다. 그래프 컷은 데이터 항(data term)과 스무드 항(smooth term)으로 구성된 에너지 함수를 전역적으로 최소화하는 방법으로 여러 공학적 문제에서 좋은 결과를 보이고 있지만, 에너지 함수의 데이터 항을 설정할 때 필요한 사전정보를 자동으로 얻기가 어렵다. 스테레오 비전의 깊이 정보가 최근 전경 물체 추출을 위한 사전정보로 많이 이용되고 있고 그들의 실험환경에서는 좋은 결과를 보이지만, 3차원 얼굴 복원에서 얼굴의 대부분이 동질의 영역을 가지고 있기 때문에 깊이 정보를 구하기 어려워 정확한 사전정보를 구하기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 3차원 얼굴 복원을 효과적으로 하기 위한 그래프 컷 기반의 전경 물체 추출 방법을 제안한다. 에너지 함수의 데이터 항을 설정하기 위해 전경 물체에 대한 사전정보를 추출해야 하며, 이를 위해 차영상을 이용하여 대략적인 전경 물체 추출하고, 사전정보에 대한 오류를 줄이기 위해 잡음과 그림자 영역을 제거한다. 잡음과 그림자 영역을 제거하면 구멍이 발생하거나 실루엣이 손상되는 문제가 발생한다. 손상된 정보는 근접한 픽셀이 유사하지 않을 때 낮은 비용을 할당하는 에너지 함수의 스무드(smooth) 항에 의해 에지 정보를 기반으로 채워진다. 결론적으로 제안된 방법은 스무드 항과 대략적으로 설정된 데이터 항으로 구성된 에너지 함수를 그래프 컷으로 전역적으로 최소화함으로써 더욱 정확하게 목적이 되는 영역을 추출할 수 있다.

Efficient Mapping Scheme for Parallel Processing (병렬처리를 위한 효율적인 사상 기법)

  • This paper presents a mapping scheme for parallel processing using an accurate characterization of the communication overhead. A set of objective functions is formulated to evaluate the optimality of mapping a problem graph into a system graph. One of them is especially suitable for real-time applications of parallel processing. These objective functions are different from the conventional objective functions in that the edges in the problem graph are weighted and the actual distance rather than the nominal distance for the edges in the system graph is employed. This facilitates a more accurate qualification of the communication overhead. An efficient mapping scheme has been developed for the objective functions, where two levels of assignment optimization procedures are employed: initial assignment and pairwise exchange. The mapping scheme has been tested using the hypercube as a system graph.

Analysis of Misunderstood Types Relate to Trigonometric Function and Its Teaching Method (삼각함수에 관한 오류 유형 분석과 그 지도 방법)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze students misunderstood types relate to trigonometric function and to devise its teaching method using GSP. To do this, we performed several steps as followings: First, we performed questionnaire survey to 70 students belong to second year at high school to find students comprehension degree about radian angle representation and trigonometric function graph. Second, we devised the teaching-learning materials relate to trigonometric function graph using GSP. And then, we used them in the class of 35 students who are at the time to learn trigonometric function in the first year at high school. Third, we conducted Questionnaire survey to students studied through teaching and learning materials using GSP. As a result of doing the survey, we found that general students were interested in the class using GSP and they could also operate computer without difficulty.
