For the effective IP-based service implementation in the wireless network environment, involvement of IP-related technologies in wireless networks is inevitable and globally unique IPv6 address allocation to the mobile node has become an important issue. In the 3GPP's address allocation mechanism, IPv6 address allocation procedure is performed by the GGSN, which is normally located far from the mobile nodes. This causes IPv6 address allocation time delay and traffics to be longer and increased in the core network, respectively. In this paper, we propose a new IPv6 address allocation mechanism that is performed by Node B located in RAN. The proposed IPv6 address allocation mechanism can provide IPv6 addresses to mobile nodes within a more reduced time than existing 3GPP's IPv6 address allocation mechanism, and co-operates with existing mechanism as an overlay model to improve reliability of wireless networks. And, for implementation of the proposed address allocation mechanism, it needs not to change the structure of current wireless networks except for the some functional addendum of Node B.

In this paper, we propose Active bandwidth allocation scheme of multiplexed streamed MPEG video sequences over BcN network. In order to real time processing, multiplexed source is estimated by linear-prediction per measurement period. n the result target quality value were not sufficient, we proposed a over-allocation method and a reallocation one to guarantee QoS. We used two kinds of sources, one is random multiplexed source made of four different video sources, the other is the one considered the arrange of I frame in the sequence. With those sources, we analyzed the linear prediction, compared over-allocation with reallocation method. As a result, In both schemes, the objected target quality value is achieved, the sufficient valuce bandwidth under 10% when measurement period is over 1.8 sec, the utilization is over 0.9. Especially, the Target of quality value of the reallocation scheme is better at the same condition.

Providing a multimedia service requires efficient network bandwidth allocation scheduling. Typically, transmission of information with bursty characteristics, such as a video data stream, utilizes some type of smoothing technique that reduces the transmission rate fluctuation. While capable of a drastic reduction in the peak transmission rate, even the optimum smoothing algorithm proposed to date, however, is rather inadequate for multi-stream applications that share network bandwidth since such an algorithm has been designed and applied toward handling each independent stream. In this paper, we proposed an efficient bandwidth allocation algorithm that addresses these shortcomings. The proposed bandwidth allocation algorithm is divided into two steps, a static bandwidth allocation and a dynamic bandwidth allocation. In the former case, the peak rate reduction is achieved by maintaining the accumulated data in the user buffer at a high level, whereas the concept of real demand factor is employed to meet the needs of multi-stream bandwidth allocation in the latter case, Finally, the proposed algorithm's performance was verified with ExSpect 6.41, a Petri net simulation tool.

In this paper, we are considering a heterogeneous processor system in which each processor may have different performance and reliability characteristics. In other to fully utilize this diversity of processing power it is advantageous to assign the program modules of a distributed program to the processors in such a way that the execution time of the entire program is minimized. This assignment of tasks to processors to maximize performance is commonly called load balancing, since the overloaded processors can perform their own processing with the performance degradation. For the task assignment problem, we propose a new objective function which formulates this imbalancing cost. Thus the task assignment problem is to be carried out so that each module is assigned to a processor whose capabilities are most appropriate for the module, and the total cost is minimized that sum of inter-processor communication cost and execution cost and imbalance cost of the assignment. To find optimal assignment is known to be NP-hard, and thus we proposed an efficient heuristic algorithm with time complexity $O(n^2m)$ in case of m task modules and n processors.

The weapon-target assignment (WTA) problem is a matter of effectively allocating weapons to a number of threats. The WTA in a rapidly changing dynamic environment of engagement must take into account both of properties of the threat and the weapon and the effect of the previous decision. We propose a method of applying the Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP) algorithm, a kind of meta-heuristic method, to derive optimal solution for a dynamic WTA problem. Firstly, we define a dynamic WTA problem and formulate a mathematical model for applying the algorithm. For the purpose of the assignment strategy, the objective function is defined and time-varying constraints are considered. The dynamic WTA problem is then solved by applying the GRASP algorithm. The optimal solution characteristics of the formalized dynamic WTA problem are analyzed through the simulation, and the algorithm performance is verified via the Monte-Carlo simulation.

We define the incomplete medium sharing system as a multi-channel shared medium communication system where constraints are imposed to the set of channels that may be allocated to some transmitter-receiver node pairs. To derive a centralized MAC scheme of a incomplete medium sharing system, we address the problem of optimal channel allocation The optimal channel allocation problem is then translated into a max-flow problem in a multi-commodity flow graph, and it is shown that the optimal solution can then be obtained by solving a linear programming problem. In addition, two suboptimal channel allocation schemes are proposed to bring down the computational complexity to a practical/feasible level; (1) one is a modified iSLIP channel allocation scheme, (2) the other is sequential channel allocation scheme. From the results of a extensive set of numerical experiments, it is found that the suboptimal schemes evaluate channel utilization close to that of the optimal schemes while requiring much less amount of computation than the optimal scheme. In particular, the sequential channel allocation scheme is shown to achieve higher channel utilization with less computational complexity than . the modified iSLIP channel allocation scheme.

We investigate the optimal resource and power allocation for device-to-device (D2D) communications in a multicell environment. When D2D links reuse the cellular radio resources, each D2D user will interfere with a cellular link and other D2D links, in its own cell as well as in adjacent cells. Under such situation, we propose a coordinated resource allocation scheme that can handle the intercell interferences as well as the intracell interference. For a given resource allocation, we also formulate a power optimization problem and present an algorithm for finding the optimal solution. The resource and power allocation algorithms are designed to maximize the achievable rate of the D2D link, while limiting the generated interference to the cellular link. The performance of the proposed algorithms is evaluated through simulations in a multicell environment. Numerical results are presented to verify the coordination gain in the resource and power allocation.

In this paper, a joint PHY-MAC layer optimized resource allocation scheme for OFDMA based micro base stations is investigated. We propose cross-layer optimized two-stage resource allocation scheme including cross-layer functional description and control information flow between PHY-MAC layers. The proposed two-stage resource allocation scheme consists of a user grouping stage and a resource allocation stage. In the user grouping stage, users are divided into a macro base station user group and a micro base station user group based on the PHY-MAC layer characteristics of each user. In the resource allocation stage, a scheduling scheme and an allotment of resources are determined. In the proposed scheme, diversity and adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) schemes are exploited as schedulers. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme increases the average cell throughput about 40~80 % compared to the conventional system without micro base stations.

We propose the schemes for the dynamic channel allocation (DCA) in multi-cell OFDMA systems to avoid co-channel interference (CCI) without the additional complexity. The allocatable subcarriers areas, which is designed to avoid CCI among cells, are determined for each cell. Each cell allocates the subcarriers within the allocatable subcarriers area of the cell independently. We consider the trade off between the reduced frequency selection diversity and the amount of CCI on a subcarrier by the determination of allocatable subcarriers area. Hence, the equal allocation bound scheme for the high selectivity channel and the flexible allocation bound scheme for the low selectivity channel are proposed. Through the numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed schemes have better performance in the aspects of the number of overlapping allocated subcarriers, the capacity and the outage probability compared to the case which does not determined the allocatable subcarriers area.
In the complex real-time multi-agent system such as game environment, dynamic task allocations are repeatedly performed to achieve a goal in terms of system efficiency. In this research, we present a task allocation scheme suitable for the real-time multi-agent environment. The scheme is to optimize the task allocation by complementing existing coordination agent with $A^*$ algorithm. The coordination agent creates a status graph that consists of nodes which represent the combinations of tasks and agents, and refines the graph to remove nodes of non-execution tasks and agents. The coordination agent performs the selective utilization of the $A^*$ algorithm method and the greedy method for real-time re-allocation. Then it finds some paths of the minimum cost as optimized results by using $A^*$ algorithm. Our experiments show that the coordination agent with $A^*$ algorithm improves a task allocation efficiency about 25% highly than the coordination agent only with greedy algorithm.
