  • 2009년 한육우 사료산업은 한마디로 비육우 양축가와 사료업계 모두 호황이었던 한해였다. "국내산 쇠고기가격의 상승"과 "사료가격의 인하"로 한육우 양축가들의 수익성은 큰 폭으로 증가하였으며, 사료업계 또한 "비육우 사육두수 증가"와 "국제 곡물가격 하락"으로 '08년 대비 수익성이 현저히 개선되었다. 이러한 상황들에 대한 올해의 국내외의 사료산업을 "비육우산업", "배합사료", "사료업계"의 3부분으로 나누어 정리하여 보았다.

Analysis of the Hanwoo Rasing Cycle Using Sine Function (싸인함수를 이용한 한우 사육두수 예측)

  • This paper analyzes the beef cycle and forecasts the number of Hanwoo. This study uses Sine function for this purpose. Data shows that beef cycle varies from five to twelve years and the cycle becomes longer as time passes. The adjusted $R^2$ of the estimated model is 0.95. The forecasted value based on this model for the number of Hanwoo is 1.6-1.8 million heads in lower bound and 3.2-3.7 million heads in upper bound, where the peak points are slightly different according to cycles. These predicted values imply the instability of number of Hanwoo and corresponding farm income, so we have to prepare adequate policies to cope with it.

Estimation of the Number of Korean Cattle Using ARIMA Model (ARIMA 모형을 이용한 한육우 사육두수 추정)

  • This paper estimates the number of Korean cattle using time-series ARIMA model. This study classifies the structure of the number of cattle into six indexes to reflect the characteristics of cattle. This study apply ARIMA model to these six indexes according to Box-Jenkins procedure to identify, estimate and predict. The rates of slaughter for aged female and aged male cow is analyzed as non-stationary time series which has unit roots and other 4 indexes is analyzed as stationary time series. The differencing is applied to get rid of non-stationarity for the non-stationary time series. The results show that the number of cattle will be reduced from 2012 as a higher point and rebounded from 2018 as a lower point.
