The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of perceived body size and actual body size between Korean and USA female college students of 18 to 26 year-old. Body measurements and survey were taken from August to September, 1998. The results are as follows: 1) There were differences between the body measurements of the Korean women and US women. Among 20 body areas, except only head length and neck circumferences, American women had bigger sizes than Korean women. 2) Compared to US females, Koreans perceived their body sizes as bigger and were more dissatisfied with their bodies than Americans. 3) Those who had thinner body sizes tended to be more satisfied with their bodies.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to measure the fear of dental care and analyze the related factors between reliability for members in dental office and fear of dental care, dental office. Methods : Located in Gwangju, 260 college women who had dental experience in the past year were surveyed. SPSS windows ver. 11.0 by demographic characteristics and oral health characteristics of the frequency and percentage, and related factors in the fear of dental care and the reliability about dental health care workers of one way ANOVA, Tukey test for Post-Hoc test. and were factors associated with dental fear of the stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed. Results : The fear will be higher when subjective oral health status is considered lower, the reliability of dental health care workers is lower(p<0.05). Evasion and overall fear, overall fear and stimulations of dental care, stimulations of dental care and overall feeling were related(p<0.05). Conclusions : The reliability of dental health care workers is lower and subjective oral health status is considered lower, the fear of dental care increase and everage number of brushing has increased, the fear of dental care decrease.

The purpose of this study is to compare the purchase intention on naturally dyed clothing between Korea and the US. As independent variables that affect the purchase intention, benefits that consumers seek when purchasing naturally dyed clothing, especially for fabric materials, and attitudes towards naturally dyed clothing were selected. A quantitative research method with a survey was employed. 160 data from Korea and 180 data from the US were used for the analysis. The convenience sampling method (i.e., college female students) was used. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test and regression analysis were employed to test the differences in purchase intention, fabric benefit sought, and the attitudes. The fabric benefit sought selected for this study includes eco-friendliness, uniqueness, aesthetic, comfort and quality. The attitude toward naturally dyed clothing was categorized as an emotional and a cognitive attitude. The results show the significant differences in the fabric benefit sought depending on nationality, major and experiences in natural dyeing. Significant differences were found in of the attitude toward naturally dyed clothing among the nationalities and the experience types in natural dyeing. In addition, there were significant differences in purchase intention toward naturally dyed clothing between Korean and the US participants, and countries show different fabric benefits and attitudes which influenced participants' purchase intention. The results of this study suggest an appropriate fabric planning for environment-friendly fashion products for both countries.
