Field Construction Applying the Insulating Method of Moderate-Cold Weather Concreting Using Double Bubble Sheets (2중 버블시트를 이용한 한랭기 콘크리트의 단열양생공법 현장적용)

  • Experimental test results of field construction, Cheongju University Educational Liberal Art Building, applying the insulating curing method on slab concrete showed that the quality of concrete in fresh and hardened state satisfied all target values. Temperature history of slab concrete in A and B area secured more than $7.8{\sim}9.2^{\circ}C$ higher than outside atmosphere. After completing certain curing period of time on the surface of the structure, crack occurrence was not found. It is concluded that the preventing vaporization of moisture by the insulating curing method reduces plastic and drying shrinkage as welt as improves durability.

A Study on the Effect of strength improvement and $CO_2$ reduction by using Eco-concrete in construction site (에코콘크리트 현장 적용에 따른 강도 상승 효과 및 이산화탄소 절감 효과에 관한 연구)

  • Blast furnance slag cement is a cement manufactured with using industrial by-product and it can reduce $CO_2$ by replacing cement when same uit volume concrete is produced. But Blast furnance slag has a short point that early strength of concrete is not good in winter season and it can be used. So, in this study, as long as replacement ratio of Blast furnance slag to original portland cement is under 30%, developed cement, ecoment, improve early strength of concrete and it applied to constructoin site. As a result, it improves 37% in terms of 1-day strength, it reduces 6.7% in terms of $CO_2$ emission when $1m^3$ concrete was produced. The importance and applicability of study wll be expected to increase cosidering global effort and green growth-strategy in country for reducing greenhouse gases.

Strength Correction Factors due to Temperature Drop of Structural Concrete under Low Temperature by the Equivalent Age Method (저온환경에서 타설되는 구조체 콘크리트의 등가재령 방법을 활용한 기온보정강도 설정)

  • In this paper, strength correction factors of the concretes incorporating ordinary Portland cement(OPC), fly ash(FA) and blast furnace slag(BS) with 50% of water to binder ratio due to temperature drop for standard room temperature(20±3℃) are provided. For this, strength development was done based on equivalent age method. For calculating the equivalent age, apparent activation energy was obtained with 24.69 kJ/mol in OPC, 46.59 kJ/mol in FA, 54.59 kJ/ol in BS systems. According to the estimation of strength development of the concretes, the use of FA and BS resulted in larger strength drop than that of OPC under low temperature compared to standard room temperature. Hence, strength correction factors(Tn) for OPC, FA and BS are suggested within 4~17℃ with every 3MPa levels.
