A Development of Effective Object Detection System Using Multi-Device LiDAR Sensor in Vehicle Driving Environment (차량주행 환경에서 다중라이다센서를 이용한 효과적인 검출 시스템 개발)

  • The importance of sensors on a self-driving vehicle has rising since it act as eyes for the vehicle. Lidar sensors based on laser technology tend to yield better image quality with more laser channels, thus, it has higher detection accuracy for obstacles, pedistrians, terrain, and other vechicles. However, incorporating more laser channels results higher unit price more than ten times, and this is a major drawback for using high channel lidar sensors on a vehicle for actual consumer market. To come up with this drawback, we propose a method of integrating multiple low channel, low cost lidar sensors acting as one high channel sensor. The result uses four 16 channels lidar sensors with small form factor acting as one bulky 64 channels sensor, which in turn, improves vehicles cosmetic aspects and helps widespread of using the lidar technology for the market.

  • In order to guarantee the stability of a tunnel and its optimum design, it is very important to obtain enough ground investigation data. In realty, however, it is not the case due to the limitation of measuring spatially distributed data and economical reasons. Especially, there are regions where drilling is impossible due to civil appeal and mountainous topology, and it is also difficult to estimate rock mass classes quantitatively with only geophysical exploration data. In this study, therefore, 3 dimensional multiple indicator kriging (3D-MI kriging), which can incorporate geophysical exploration data and drill core data off a tunnel center line, is proposed to cope with such problems. To this end, two dimensional mutiple indicator kriging, which is one of the geostatistical techniques, is extended for three dimensional analysis. Also, the proposed 3D-MI kriging was applied to determine the rock mass classes by RMR system for the design of a Kyungbu express rail way tunnel.

  • Automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) is the core technology of communication, navigation and surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM), automatically broadcasts its own position information using GNSS and has an advantage of lower geological constraints and faster update speed compared with legacy radar systems. EUROCONTROL defined all purpose structured eurocontrol surveillance information exchange (ASTERIX) CAT.021. ASTERIX CAT.021 is modified several times, but it has compatibility issues with previous version of it. In this paper, we have designed an efficient message processing module regardless of the version of ASTERIX CAT.021. This implemented module generates patterns to collect messages received from the network, after that, received messages are processed in the routine that is defined in accordance with the patterns.

  • Recently a system is being required to replace ILS due to increasing air traffic. In this paper, Curved approach is applied to an airport where ILS approach cannot be applied due to its geographical condition and restricted aerospace condition, and verified by flight test. After analysing conditions of Tae-an airfield of Hanseo University with virtual ILS approach, airfield applicability was evaluated by Curved approach using by GPS. Normally simulation is performed after establishing approach procedure using electric map, but recently verification is being performed by flight test without simulation because accuracy and reliability are increased. In this paper, established procedure is verified modified by flight test with Pilot Test and Auto Pilot test and controllability and passenger's stability were also checked.

Measuring Similarity Between Movies Based on Sentiment of Tweets (트위터를 활용한 감성 기반의 영화 유사도 측정)

  • As a Social Network Service (SNS) has become an integral part of our everyday lives, millions of users can express their opinion and share information regardless of time and place. Hence sentiment analysis using micro-blogs has been studied in various field to know people's opinion on particular topics. Most of previous researches on movie reviews consider only positive and negative sentiment and use it to predict movie rating. As people feel not only positive and negative but also various emotion, the sentiment that people feel while watching a movie need to be classified in more detail to extract more information than personal preference. We measure sentiment distributions of each movie from tweets according to the Thayer's model. Then, we find similar movies by calculating similarity between each sentiment distributions. Through the experiments, we verify that our method using micro-blogs performs better than using only genre information of movies.

  • The eastern coast of northeastern Brazil (NEB), a coastal land-strip up to 300 km wide and stretching out from Rio Grande do Norte $(5^{\circ}S)$ State down to the south of Bahia State $(17^{\circ}S)$, experiences different rain producing systems, such as distrubances in the south-east trade winds, frontal systems penetration, land-sea breeze circulation and local convection associated with the topography and moisture flux convergence. The annual total rainfall ranges from 600 inland to 3000 mm on the coast. Rainfall totals 5 to 12 times the focal climatic means were recorded in various regions of Alagoas state in January 2004. It was estimated that 46,000 people were homeless, with material damages exceeding US$10 million as a consequence of the ensuing floods. GOES infrared images analysis showed that the main weather system responsible for this anomalously high rainfall totals was an Upper Troposphere Cyclonic Vortex (UTCV), which formed at about a $27^{\underline{\circ}}W\;e\;12^{\underline{\circ}}S$ and remained active for the entire month of January over NEB.

  • In this paper, we propose a central disaster monitoring system of the forest fire. This system provides the safe-zone and detection to reduce the suppression efforts. In existing system, it has a few providing the predicting of wildfire spread model and speed through topography, weather, fuel factor. This paper focus on the forest fire diffusion model and predictions of the path identified to ensure the safe zone. Also we have considering the forest fire of moving direction and speed for fire suppression and monitering. The proposed algorithm could provide the technique to analyze the attribute information that temperature, wind, smoke measured over time. This proposed central observing monitoring system could provide the moving direction of spred out forecast wildfire. This observing and monitering system analyze and simulation for the moving speed and direction forest fire, it could be able to predict and training the forest fire fighters in a given environment.

The exercise-distance measuring system with high precision considering of altitude (고도를 고려한 정밀도 높은 운동거리 측정시스템)

  • To measure the athletic information of exercisers, the applications of smartphone are programmed based on the sensing data from GPS device. These applications provide exercisers for running or walking distance, exercising time, calorie consumption, average speed, and so on. Among them, the exercising distance should measure accurately because it directly affects the other athletic information for exercisers. However, the existing methods for measuring the exercising distance makes errors because they are worked on the simple sphere or ellipse earth models. Actually, the surface of real earth is composed of inclined ground like hills and valleys. In this paper, a new exercising distance measuring algorithm is proposed to compensate the errors of existing method. It considers the altitude of slopes in exercising routes. To evaluate exercising distance measuring algorithms, we implement the athletic life-guide system based on the smartphone platform. In experiments, the proposed method shows that it provides more accurate distance measurement.

Water Quality Modeling of the Nakdong River due to Restoration Project (낙동강 살리기 사업에 따른 수질 변화 예측)

  • 낙동강은 4대강 살리기 사업에 의해 8개의 보(상주보, 낙단보, 칠곡보, 강정보, 달성보, 합천보, 함안보)가 하천 내에 건설되고 약 4억톤의 준설이 실시되면서 지형적으로 막대한 변화를 맞이하게 된다. 낙동강은 상류의 안동댐 및 임하댐에서 방류수, 중류의 구미 및 대구 등의 오염원 그리고 하류의 남강에 의한 영향 및 낙동강 하구언에 의한 정체에 의한 영향으로 지역적으로 수질 및 수리 특성이 서로 다르게 나타나고 있다. 낙동강에 건설되는 수중보들 또한 이러한 유입 및 경계 조건에 따라 서로 다른 수질특성을 나타낼 것으로 판단되며 이에 대한 영향을 미리 예측하고 발생 가능한 악영향에 대한 대안을 수립하는 것이 중요하다고 본다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강의 4대강 사업에 의한 지점별 및 시기적 영향을 정확하게 분석하기 위해 3차원 수리동역학 모델 EFDC와 수질모델 WASP을 연계하여 사용하였다. 연구대상지역은 안동댐 방류지점에서 낙동강 하구역까지의 총 334km의 지역을 포함하였으며 하천의 폭 방향, 수심방향 및 흐름방향에 대하여 3차원으로 격자를 구성하여 하천을 표현하였다. 수리 및 수질 보정에 필요 한 입력자료는 국토해양부 및 환경부 등에서 발표 된 자료를 이용하였으며 2007년을 기준으로 모의를 실시하였다. 4대강 살리기 사업에 의한 8개의 보 건설 및 낙동강 전역의 준설의 영향을 예측하여 사업 전 및 사업 후로 각각 구분하여 비교하였으며 사업 후 체류시간의 증가와 준설로 인한 수심증가에 따른 복합적인 원인에 의해 수질에 영향이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사업 후 낙동강의 각 수중보 출구 부근 지점에서 예측된 수질 특성은 사업전에 비하여 $BOD_5$는 전반적으로 감소하나, TN 및 TP 는 유사한 특성을 나타내었다. 그러나 Chl-a 농도는 상류와 중류에서는 체류시간의 증가로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며 이는 수질이 양호한 상류 지역에서 특히 큰 차이를 나타내는 경향으로 분석되었다. 그러나 낙동강 하구언 지역은 Chl-a 농도가 사업에 의해 약간 감소되는 경향을 나타내어 여타 구간과 다른 경향을 나타내었다. 이는 낙동강 하류의 Chl-a 농도가 이미 매우 높은 상태에서 체류시간에 의한 성장 촉진 보다는 수심증가로 인한 광량제한 효과가 더욱 지배적으로 나타난 것에 의한 영향으로 추정된다.

Decision of Stream Flow of Sum-jin River for Water-Purity Utilizing QUAL2K Model (Qual2K 모형을 이용한 섬진강의 수질보전을 위한 하천유지유량산정)

  • 현재 국내 하천은 급격한 산업화 도시화 및 하천의 난개발로 인해 하천 고유의 자연성이 훼손되어 수질오염이 심각한 경우가 많으며, 특히 저 갈수기에는 하천 수량이 부족하여 하천수질이 더욱 악화되는 실정이다. 이러한 원인은 우리나의 개발 우선주의에 의한 하천의 난개발 및 인식 부족이 주 원인으로 이를 개선하기 위한 노력이 다양하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 섬진강 본류구간을 연구대상 구간으로 선정하여 목표수질 달성 및 생태건강성 확보를 위한 하천유지유량 산정을 위해 Qual2K 모형을 적용하였다. 섬진강은 국내의 타하천에 비해 생태 건강성이 뛰어난 편이며, 수질 또한 양호한 상태로 섬진강의 자연성 보전 및 유지가 반드시 필요한 실정이다. Qual2K는 미국환경청(US-EPA)에서 개발한 모형으로 Qual2E 모형의 단점을 보완한 것으로 사용자가 하천의 지형 특성을 충분히 반영할 수 있으며, 정확한 오염원의 유출입 지점을 특정할 수 있으며, 수질 반응을 개선한 모델이다. QUAL2K 모델에 이용된 오염원 및 부하량은 제2단계 섬진강 수질오염총량제의 값을 이용하였으며, 섬진강의 생태건강성 유지를 위한 하천유지유량의 산정은 수질오염총량제에서 제시한 목표수질보다 강화된 목표수질을 만족할 경우의 유량을 하천유지유량으로 설정하여 추정하였다. 수질모의는 섬본E, 섬본D의 BOD 목표수질이 1.2mg/L일 경우에 대해 모의를 실시하였으며, 그 결과 BOD 농도 1.0mg/L의 청정수는 섬진강댐에서 $0.5m^3/s$, 주암댐에서 $1.0m^3/s$의 유지수를 도입할 경우 섬본E, 섬본D지점에서 BOD 1.2mg/L를 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.
