An Adaptive AEC Based on the Wavelet Transform Using M-channel Subband QMF Filter Banks (M-채널 서브밴드 QMF 필터뱅크를 이용한 웨이브릿변환기반 적응 음향반향제거기)

  • This paper presents an adaptive AEC(acoustic echo canceller) based on the wavelet transform using M-channel subband QMF filter banks. The proposed algorithm improves the performance of AEC with a realtime process by a low complexity of wavelet transform filter banks, a subband processing and a orthogonality of wavelet subband filter. Adaptive filter coefficients of each subband are updated using LMS algorithm with a low complexity and a easy realization for a realtime processing and a reduction of hardware cost. For a input signal, a white Gaussian noise and a real speech signal with a environment noises are used for a performance estimation of the proposed algorithm. As a result of computer simulation, the proposed AEC has a low asymptotic error, a low computation complexity and a robust performance.

Design of Class-II Partial-Response System above the Nyquist Rate (나이퀴스트 속도를 초과하는 제2종 부분응답 시스템의 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel spectral-chopping model of Class-II$(1+D)^2$ -PRS system which reveals improved spectral efficiency. We build up the model having spectrum chopped by the amount of Nyquist over-rate, and then compare its characteristics with the conventional model in both the time-domain and the frequency-domain. When the transmission system operates above the Nyquist rate, the new model has better performance than the conventional PRS using its inherent speed-tolerance. According to our investigations, Class-II PRS shows more excellent effect in the spectral-chopping method than Class- I and W types analyzed previously. We ascertain that the over-rate of 26.675 obtained by the inherent speed-tolerance could be improved upto 40% using spectrum-truncation. These effects come from the fact that the raised-cosine spectrum of Class-II PRS has smaller Boss of frequency component and energy than any other types for the same amount of truncation. In order to validate these theoretical results, we present their sidelobe-trends confirming cancellation effects at the sampling instants and some experimental results showing their patterns of eye-openings and spectra.

반도체 세정액 내 용존 수소 가스가 웨이퍼 세정에 미치는 영향

  • 최근 반도체 세정에 있어서 지난 40년 동안 지속적으로 사용되고 있는 알칼라인 기반의 RCA 세정법은 많은 초순수 및 화학액 소모량과 세정시 불필요한 박막의 손실, 환경적인 문제로 인하여 이를 대체하고자 하는 새로운 새정액 및 세정 방법에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 특히 초순수에 가스를 혼합하여 메가소닉을 이용한 기능수 세정은 기존 RCA 세정액의 문제점들을 해결하기 위한 세정액으로 최근 반도체 제조 공정 뿐만 아니라 Photo mask, FPD 세정 공정에서 널리 이용되고 있다. 하지만 기능수에 대한 기초적인 특성 연구와 메가소닉에 의한 세정력 변화에 대한 연구는 부족한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 고순도의 수소가스(99.999%)를 가스 접촉기, pHasorII (Entigris, USA) 와 순환 속도의 조절이 가능한 펌프, BPS-3 (Levitronix, USA) 를 이용하여 지속적으로 초순수와 수소가스를 혼합하는 방법으로 수소수를 제조하였으며, 용존 수소 농도계, DHDI-1 (TOA-DKK, Japan)으로 수소수의 농도를 확인하였다. 0.1 MPa 압력과, 3 LPM의 수소가스 유출속도에서 최대 2.0 ppm의 수소수를 얻을 수 있었으며, 수소수의 기초 특성을 평가하기 위하여 수소 농도 변화에 따른 pH, 표면 에너지를 측정하였다. 또한 압력 변화에 따른 반감기를 측정하여 bath형태의 세정기에서 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. 수소수의 세정력은 $Si_3N_4$ 입자가 임의로 오염된 실리콘 웨이퍼를 이용하여 bath 및 매엽식 세정기에서 수소수 농도와 메가소닉 형태 및 첨가제 변화에 따른 세정효율을 기존의 SC-1 세정액과 각각 비교 평가하였다. 기능수 발생장치에서 압력이 제거된 상태에서는 평균 20분의 반감기를 갖는 것이 관찰되었고, 압력이 유지된 상태에서는 수소수의 농도가 유지되는 것을 확인하였으며, pH의 경우 수소수의 농도가 점차 증가함에 따라 감소하여 2.0 ppm의 농도에서 pH 5.3정도의 값을 나타내었다. 표면 장력은 초순수와 비교했을 때 큰 변화가 없음을 확인할 수 있었다. Bath 형태의 세정기에서 메가소닉을 인가하여 수소수의 세정효율을 측정한 결과, 같은 조건에서 실험한 초순수와는 비슷하며, SC-1보다는 낮은 세정효율이 측정되었다. 반면 매엽식 세정기에서 동등한 조건의 실험을 실시한 결과, 수소수 세정에서 첨가제에 의한 영향으로 SC-1을 대체할 수 있는 높은 입자 제거효율을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

Development and Application Performance of a Granular Herbicide Applicator Attached to Rice Transplanter (승용 이앙기 부착형 제초입제 살포기 개발과 살포성능)

  • A herbicide applicator attached to a rice transplanter was developed to perform herbicide application and transplanting simultaneously. The prototype machine was composed of herbicide tank, discharge device, spinner, scattering plate and power drive. The application rate of the machine could be adjusted from 10 to 30 kg/㏊ and the application swath was 1.8m. According to the field test, application uniformity showed the range of 13.6~43.9% in terms of CV(coefficient of variation) depending on the spinner speed, application height and shape of diffuser. The best uniformity could be achieved with the spinner speed of 30.8m/s and application height of 20cm. Field efficiency of the prototype was 4.7hr/㏊. Transplanting machine has field efficiency of 4.6hr/㏊ in Korea. By attaching the herbicide applicator, field efficiency became lowed only by 0.1hr/㏊, which was counted for filling time of herbicide. Simultaneous operation of transplanting and herbicide application had a of labor saying. The weed control efficacy was measured to be 96% in field when AC140 + Stomp and Londax + YRC was applied at the 65th day after transplanting. Nonanmae was treated by manual application to be compared to.

A Dendroclimatic Analysis on Abies koreana in Cheonwang-bong Area of Mt. Chiri, Korea (지리산 천왕봉지역 구상나무의 연륜기후학적 해석)

  • The relationships between climate (monthly precipitation and temperatures) and tree-ring growth of Korean fir (Abies koreana) growing at subalpine (1,600∼l,700m) zone on the south slope, Joong-Bong and the north slope, Changgun-Bong in the Cheonwang-bong area in Chiri mountains in the southern Korea were analyzed. Two cores from each of 10∼12 trees were extracted. The relationship between tree-ring(standardized) chronologies and climate was analyzed by the response-function method. Climate variables could explain 45.9∼53.8% of total variance in the chronologies. The precipitation response function of Korean fir were similar at both sites in overall ; positive for March∼May and August, and negative for February and July. The south-slope fir of Joong-Bong possessed higher negative temperature response function for February and August than north-slope one. The positive response function for April temperature was significant for both sites. In contrary to other subalpine species (e.g., Pinus koraiensis and Taxus cuspidata) in South Korea, whose growths are positively correlated with temperature in most seasons, the growths of Korean fir trees in Mt. Chiri appeared to be mainly limited by the moisture regime of spring prior to the cambial growth and early growing season.

The Vegetational and Environmental History of the Pre-Holocene Period in the Korean Peninsula (한반도 식생 및 환경변천사(홀로세 이전 시대를 중심으로))

  • The reconstruction of the vegetational and environmental history of the Korean peninsula by the use of various fossil floral data from the Carboniferous period to the Pre-Holocene is reviewed. Though the oldest plant fossil in Korea (Neuropteris) dates back to the Carboniferous period, the first appearance of many of the present-day floristic genera indeed dates back to the Oligocene (c. 40 to 20 million years B.P.), and includes many thermophilous genera. The presence of thermophilous genera in the Oligocene at up to four degrees north of their present distributional limits implies that the climate of the Oligocene was warmer than that of today. The occurrence of similar thermophilous floristic element at up to six degrees north of their present range during the Middle Miocene suggests a maximum northward expansion of warmth-loving evergreen broadleaved vegetation for, recent Korean vegetation history. The continued occurrence of numerous present-day genera since the Oligocene period indicates a long-term stability of Korean vegetation, along with minor fluctuations within it. The admixture of evergreen coniferous plants and deciduous breadleaved plants, however, indicates a probable temperate climate for much of the Middle Pleistocene. There are couple of evidences which are indicative of an early-stage anthropogenic disturbance of natural vegetation during the Middle Pleistocene of Korea. The presence of cold-episodes during the Upper Pleistocene caused a general expansion of deciduous plants and cryophilous evergreen coniferous, plants. It is likely that the maximum southward expansion of cryophilous arctic-alpine and alpine floras in Korea occured during the penultimate glacial period. The disappearance of some cryophilous genera from 10,000 years B.P. marks the continued climatic amelioration since then, along with minor climatic fluctuations during the Holocene period.

  • The computational fluid dynamic analysis has been conducted for the thermo-chemical flow field in an arcjet thruster with mono-propellant hydrazine $(N_2H_4)$ as a working fluid. Coupled Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations and Maxwell equations were used to account for the Ohm heating and Lorentz forces. ionization and thermal radiation effects were also incorporated to the fluid dynamic equations by assuming infinitely-fast reactions and optically thick media. In addition to the thermo-physical understandings of the flow field inside the arcjet thruster, results shows that performance indices are improved by amount of 20% in thrust and 70% in specific impulse with the 0.6kW are heating.

  • In this paper, we implement modulator of 155Mbps 64QAM RF MODEM, CCITT G. 707 SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierachy) 1 level, for DMR(DIgital Microwave Radio) STM-1 transmission, PSF(Pulse Shaping Filter) plays an important role to analyze modulator. We use 7 orders elliptic filter instead of Chebychev filter(roll-off facter a=0.5)in this paper. we obtain that roll-off factor, a is 0.33, group delay is less than 10nsec using this filter. Also we get -20dBm output level after passing the PSF, and 0dBm output level after passing the IF amplifier.

  • Riptortus pedestris (Fabricius) is one of the important insect pests of leguminous crops, which occurs in most areas of South Korea. It is hard to distinguish each generation in crop fields since not only the longevity of adult R. pedestris is long but also the developmental period is short. Especially, the 2nd generation adults cause enormous damage to soybean while the occurrence time is synchronized with the podding stage of soybean. Controlling the 1st generation of R. pedestris helps to decrease the damage by decreasing the 2nd generation density. This study was conducted to distinguish between the 1st generation and the overwintering generation by using differences in body coloration which is dependent on the day-length during the nymph stage. In addition, the difference was verified by the population dynamics model of R. pedestris. The occurrence time of 1st generation adults could be considered when the summer form is 20% or more. These results will be used for beneficial management decisions to reduce the 2nd generation population.

Studies on the Life History of Nysius plebejus Distant (Hemiptera: Lygaeidae) an Insect Pest of Chrysanthemum (국화 해충의 1종인 애긴노린재의 생활사에 관한 연구)

  • Life histoy of Nysius plebejrrs, the most injurious pest in chysanthemun cultivation in Korea, was studies both in field and inseday in Chinju during 1991 and 1992 seasons, and resulis are summarized as below 7hls insect has 3 generation per year, adult peaks on the mid April, mid June and late August, and the highest number of adults were attracted to the light tmp from the late August through mid September. Overwntered generation and needed 6-7weeks from egg rnatulity m spring, and 5-6 weeks, for both the first and second generation m summer, Incubation egg periods were 142, 9.3 and 7.2 days, nymphal penods were 45.2, 32.1 and 31.2 days, and total growth periods, were 59.4. 41 4 and 38.4 days, respect~vely for the overwintered, flst and second generation. Ovipositional penods were 25.6, 23.4 and 21.2 days. and number of eggs Iald by each female were 41.5. 37.2 and 35.4 days, respedively of each generation Longevities of female were 326, 27.5 and 25.1 days. and of male were 15 2, 12.3 and 12.1 days. respectively of each generation. Sex ratlo was about 1:1 in all generation, and eggs were laid in mass on the surface of leaves or stems of the host plants. This insed over-wmters as adult (90%) or 5th instar nymph (10%), however, over-wintering adults seem to be sexually premature, and mating take place actively in the following spring.
