  • In this study, we report the occurrence of four domestic mushrooms (among 317 samples) that were previously undocumented in the eastern part of Jeju Island in Korea. To identify the mushrooms, DNA sequences of the mushrooms were analyzed by comparing them with the data available in NCBI GenBank. Mushrooms were identified as Agaricus flocculosipes, Amanita concentrica, Coprinopsis strossmayeri, and Favolus acervatus, none of which have been previously documented in Korea. Furthermore, microscopic observations revealed that the morphology of the four mushrooms was consistent with the features of the species matched by the DNA sequences analysis.

  • Six unrecorded click beetles of Elateridae are reported in Korea for the first time as follows: 1) Lacon altaicus ($Cand{\acute{e}}ze$, 1882) in Agrypnidae; 2) Diacanthous undulatus DeGeer, 1774, 3) Liotrichus ligneus ($Cand{\grave{e}}ze$, 1879), 4) Aplotarsus imperceptus Gurjeva, 1987, 5) Prosternon aurichalceum Stepanov, 1930, and 6) Anostirus (Anostirus) castaneus castaneus (Linnaeus, 1758) in Denticollinae. Among them, three genera, Diacanthous, Liotrichus, and Aplotarsus, are also recorded for the first time. The previously recorded sepcies, Prosternon tessellatum Linnaeus, 1758 is suggested to be excluded from the Korean fauna by a misidentification of P. aurichalceum.

  • Two species of halacarid mites belonging to genus Copidognathus viz C. jejuensis n. sp. and C. polyporus Bartsch, 1991 are described on the basis of the specimens collected from an algal bed in Jejudo Island, Korea. Copidognathus jejuensis n. sp. is closely related with C. dentatus Viets, C. dentipes Bartsch and C. eblingi Chatterjee. Morphological similarities and dissimilarities among them are discussed. Copidognathus polyporus Bartsch is reported for the first time from Korea and away from its type localitiy. A key to the species of genus Copidognathus from Korea is provided.

  • The present study on the classified and distribution of Korean marine archeogastropods is mainly based on the materials which were collected by the authors from July, 1979 to August, 1988 to 60 localities in the south Korean continental shelf. In addition to the 52 species and 8 subspecies of archeogastropods that have been reported from Korean waters, 9 species are found to be new to the fauna of Korea ; Diodora sieboldii (Reeve), Montfortula pulchra A. Adams, Colisella langfordi Habe, Notoacmea gloriosa Habe, Mesoclanculus ater (Pilsbry) , Cantharidus hirasei (Pilsbry), Guildfordia triumphans (Pilsbry), Tristichotrochus aculeatus (Sowerby), Homalopoma sangarense(Schrenck). The Korean marine archeogatropod fauna comprises 4 suborders, 5 superfamilies 10 families , 61 species and 8 subspecies. The authors listed the scienfic name of the korean archeogastropods in correct and described the unrcorded species from korea with keys to species and families.
