Antioxidant activity and hepatic lipids improvement effects of Rubus coreanus in high-fat diet-fed rats (복분자(Rubus coreanus) 추출물의 라디칼 소거활성 및 고지방 식이에 대한 흰쥐의 간 지질 개선 효과)

  • This study was investigated the effects on the radical scavenging activities and hepatic lipid levels in rats fed a high-fat diet (HFD) by the 70% ethanolic extract from Rubus coreanus. The Rubus coreanus extract (RCE) was administered through the gastrointestinal tract at 150 mg/kg BW/day for 5 weeks (HFD+RCE). Total phenol content was 157.93 mg gallic acid/g in the RCE. Scavenging activities to DPPH, ABTS, an d hydroxyl radicals by RCE significantly increased in a does-dependent manner of $50{\sim}500{\mu}g/mL$ concentration. DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities were over the 70% in the $500{\mu}g/mL$ concentration. During the five weeks study, the food efficiency ratio was no significant differences between the HFD and HFD+RCE. Liver weight of HFD+RCE (3.75 g/100 g BW) was significantly decreased compared to those of the HFD. Hepatic triglyceride and total cholesterol levels of HFD+RCE were significantly lower compared to those of the HFD. The hepatic TBARS contents in the HFD+RCE was significantly decreased to the HFD, radical scavenging activity was markedly increased in HFD+RCE as normal group. In histological observation of liver tissues, the hepatocytes of HFD+RCE appeared the reduced aspects on the size and numbers of lipid droplets in cytoplasm compared to the HFD. Our results suggest that RCE could have antioxidant activities and hepatic hypolipidemic effects by its phenolic compounds.

Restoration Model of Evergreen Broad-leaved Forests in Warm Temperate Region(IV) - Vegetation Structure of the Case Study Areas - (난대 기후대의 상록활엽수림 복원 모형(IV) - 사례지의 식생구조 -)

  • To study restoration model of evergreen broad-leaved forests in warm temperate region, vegetation structure was studied at Wando(Island) as a case study. Quercus acuta was a dominant species at evergreen broad-leaved forests in Wando(Island). Majority of evergreen broad-leaved forests was a thirty years old coppice forest. Reforested vegetation and deciduous broad-leaved forests was developed at a mid-slope districts and a piedmont. Deciduous broad-leaved forestsconsisted of Quercus serrata, Carpinus tschonoskii, Carpinus coreana, etc., was developed at a ridge and higher districts. Evergreen broad-leaved woody plants were growing at a forest floor of deciduous broad-leaved forests. The species over sixty percent of constanty ratio in forty seven plots were Ligustrum japonicum, Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium, Quercus acuta and Eury japonica. The vascular plants in the Wando(Island) was summarized as 488 taxa which composed as 101 families, 321 genus, 426 species, 56 varieties, 5 forms and 1 hyvrid. Evergreen broad-leaved woody stecies was 32 taxa which composed as 23 genus, 30 species and 2 varieties. The species such as Liliope platyphylla of Liliaceae and Pueraria thunbergii of Leguminosae, etc. was recorded as the highest values for their widely distribution in the areas. On the contrary, and forty taxa of plants such as Viburnum erosum of Caprifoliaceae, Traceholospermum asiaticum var. intermedium was recorded as over 50% of constancy ratio. Two hundred and nine taxa of plants such as Juglans manshurica of Juglandaceae, Cornus walteri of Cornaceae and Rodotypos scandens of Rosaceae, etc. was showed the specific trends due to long-term artificial disturbance. The forest of Pinus thunbergii showde the highest species diversities(155 species per 600m$^{2}$), while the Cinnamomum japonicum-Tracheolospermum asiaticum var. intermedium community showed the lowest species diversities(23 species per 600m$^{2}$).

Development of One-to-One Shortest Path Algorithm Based on Link Flow Speeds on Urban Networks (도시부 가로망에서의 링크 통행속도 기반 One-to-One 최단시간 경로탐색 알고리즘 개발)

  • Finding shortest paths on time dependent networks is an important task for scheduling and routing plan and real-time navigation system in ITS. In this research, one-to-one time dependent shortest path algorithms based on link flow speeds on urban networks are proposed. For this work, first we select three general shortest path algorithms such as Graph growth algorithm with two queues, Dijkstra's algorithm with approximate buckets and Dijkstra's algorithm with double buckets. These algorithms were developed to compute shortest distance paths from one node to all nodes in a network and have proven to be fast and efficient algorithms in real networks. These algorithms are extended to compute a time dependent shortest path from an origin node to a destination node in real urban networks. Three extended algorithms are implemented on a data set from real urban networks to test and evaluate three algorithms. A data set consists of 4 urban street networks for Anaheim, CA, Baltimore, MD, Chicago, IL, and Philadelphia, PA. Based on the computational results, among the three algorithms for TDSP, the extended Dijkstra's algorithm with double buckets is recommended to solve one-to-one time dependent shortest path for urban street networks.

Analyzing the spectral characteristic and detecting the change of tidal flat area in Seo han Bay, North Korea using satellite images and GIS (위성영상과 GIS를 이용한 북한 서한만 지역의 간석지 분광특성 및 변화 탐지)

  • In this study the tidal area in Seo han bay, North Korea was detected and extracted by using various satellite images (ASTER, KOMPSAT EOC, Landsat TM/ETM+) and GIS spatial analysis. Especially, the micro-landform was classified through the spectral characteristic of each satellite image and the change of tidal flat size was detected on passing year. For this, the spectral characteristics of eight tidal flat area in Korea, which are called as Seo han bay, Gwang ryang bay, Hae iu bay, Gang hwa bay, A san bay, Garorim bay, Jul po bay and Soon chun bay, were analyzed by using multi band of multi spectral satellite images such as Landsat TM/ETM+. Moreover, the micro-landform tidal flat in Seo han bay, North Korea was extracted by using ISODATA clustering based on the result of spectral characteristic. In addition, in order to detect the change of tidal flat size on passing years, the ancient topography map (1918-1920) was constructed as GIS DB. Also, the tidal flat distribution map based on the temporal satellite images were constructed to detect the tidal flat size for recent years. Through this, the efficient band to classify the micro-landform and detect its boundary was clarified and one possibility of KOMPSAT EOC application could be also introduced by extracting the spatial information of tidal flat efficiently.

The Challenge of Personal Information Act for Oral History Project (구술자료의 수집과 서비스에 대한 개인정보 보호법의 도전)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand issues related to the Personal Information Act recently emerging in the field of oral history, and to prepare countermeasures for oral history academics and archives. The Personal Information Act is intended to protect the confidentiality and freedom of the constitutional privacy, and to assure the right to self-determination of information, thereby realizing the dignity and value of the individual. Oral history is intended for living persons; therefore, strict ethical standards are needed to protect the morality of the person behind the sound recordings and appears as the subject of oral history. However, if the uniform application of the Personal Information Act is made, it is a requirement to make the process of consenting and notifying excessively complex and almost impossible to realize, making collection and service of oral history resource improbable. The mechanical and strict application of the Personal Information Act does not come into being because it has the aspect of undermining the inherent intrinsic value of oral history resources and making it difficult to maintain the authenticity of the records. To solve these problems, it is necessary to revise Article 58 (4) of the Personal Information Act of Korea. In addition, it is necessary to establish a guideline for the establishment of independent ethical standards of oral history itself, especially for the protection of the moral rights of third parties.

A Study on The Kinds and Characteristics of Fast Foods - By Highschool Students in Daejeon - (패스트푸드의 종류 및 특징에 대한 연구 - 대전지역 고등학생을 대상으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to distinguish which food is fast foods and to define the characteristics of fast foods. The 14 kind of foods(hamburger, pizza, fried chicken, raymyeon, hotdog, doughnut, fried fish cake, jajangmyeon udong, ice cream, dukbokki, spaghetti, sandwich, gimbab, and salad) and 5 characteristics of fast foods(takeout, franchise, fast serving, unhealthy, and cheap price foods) were selected based on the dictionary and previous research papers about fast foods for this study. A total of 306 male and female high school student in Daejeon area were participated. The data were gathered by questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. The participants evaluated the fast foods as delicious and convenient foods but non-nutritious, i.e. high fat but vitamin deficient foods. Among the 14 foods examined, hamburger, pizza, and fried chicken were the foods which more than 90% of the participants acknowledged to fast foods. Dukbokki, spaghetti, sandwich, gimbab, and salad were the foods which less than 50% of the participant acknowledged to fast foods. Among the 5 characteristics of fast food examined, unhealthy foods showed the highest sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, and odds ratio(0.803, 0.712, 0.597, and 2.79, respectively), and cheap price showed the lowest values of those(0.565, 0.335, 0.242, and 0.85, respectively) for acknowledging foods to fast foods. As conclusion, hamburger, pizza, and fried chicken were the representative foods of fast foods. Fast foods are generally considered as fast served cheap price foods, but the participants did not think the fast foods as fast and cheap foods. The most distinguished characteristics of fast foods in the students' minds was unhealthy foods.

The Effects of Aquarobic Exercise Program on Body Composition and Blood Lipid Concentrations in Obese Elderly Females (아쿠아로빅 운동이 비만노인여성의 신체조성과 혈중지질에 미치는 영향)

  • In the elderly, a lower muscle mass and higher body fat mass are induced by a lower level of physical activity. A negatively changed body composition with an advanced age can lead to a higher falling risk and rate of diseases. On the other hand, aerobic-type exercise positively influences the body composition and hyperlipidemia in the elderly. Therefore, this study examined the effects of aquarobic training for 12 weeks on the body composition and blood lipid levels in obese old women. The subjects (n = 31, body fat: 33.42%) completed a 12 week water based aerobic training at 12 - 13 of Borg Scale of intensity (three times per week, each session: an hour). The body composition was measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis (Inbody 770-Biospace, Seoul, Korea) and the concentrations of blood lipids (high-density lipids cholesterol (HDL), low-density lipids cholesterol (LDL), triglyceride (TG) total cholesterol (TC)) were determined at pre and post training. A paired t-test was used for data analysis with ${\alpha}=0.05$. In the results, the body composition (% body fat (p < 0.05) and waist circumference (p < 0.05)) were reduced significantly. The LDL (p < 0.05), TG (p < 0.001) and TC (p < 0.05) were reduced significantly. In conclusion, a 12 week aquarobic exercise program helps improve the body composition and concentrations of serum lipids. Therefore, aquarobic exercise can enhance lipolysis using fat as energy to induce an improvement of the body composition and induce hyperlipidemia.

Current Status and the Way Forward for Fruit Harvesting Mechanization (과수 수확작업 기계화 현황 및 추진방향)

  • 연구목적: 국내 과일 산업의 한 단계 도약과 대외 경쟁력을 높이기 위해서는 수확작업의 기계화가 시급함. 이 연구는 국내외 과일 수확 기계화 현황과 문제점을 분석하고, 향후 수확작업 기계화 방향을 제시하고자 수행 수확기계 실용화 현황 및 고찰 (국내) 과일을 직접 수확이 아닌 수확 작업을 보조해주는 고지 작업기(수동형, 모터 진동형)와 고소 작업차가 대부분임. 수동형은 사과 감 등을 수확하지만, 작업능률이 낮고 작업자가 쉽게 피로하여 장시간 작업이 불가능하므로 실질적인 대안이 되지 못함. 진동형은 자체 동력을 이용하여 나무에 진동을 가하여 주로 대추 매실 등 소과류 수확에 이용되고, 수확능률은 우수하나 충격 손상이 많아 개선이 요구됨. 고소작업차는 동력원에 따라 충전식과 엔진식으로 구분되고, 충전식은 엔진식에 비해 진동 소음이 적어 쾌적하지만, 작업시간이 배터리 용량에 제한을 받음. 또한 작업대 작동방식에 따라 리프트형과 붐형으로 구분함. 리프트형은 리프트를 이용하여 작업대를 상하로 구동하는 방식으로 높은 위치의 과실 수확이 어렵고, 작업대 넓이 만큼의 작업 공간(과수간의 거리)이 필요함. 붐형은 필요한 곳으로 접근성이 우수하나 무거운 무게를 지탱하기 어렵기 때문에 본체를 무겁게 하거나 수시로 수확된 과일을 하차시켜야 함. (국외) 수확 후 가공되는 과일류와 포도 올리브 오렌지 매실 등 소과류 수확이 기계화되었지만, 사과 복숭아 등 신선과일은 아직도 외국의 값싼 노동자들에 의존하여 수확되고 있음. 현재 실용화된 수확 기계는 진동식 수확기계와 터널식 수확기계가 대표적임. 진동식은 집게형의 부착기를 나무 줄기에 고정한 후 트랙터 동력원으로 나무에 진동을 가하여 수확하고, 올리브 대추 등과 같은 소과류와 과피가 두꺼운 오렌지 등에 적용되고, 수확 작업능률이 매우 높으나 과일의 낙하 상처를 피할 수 없는 단점이 있음. 터널형은 규격화(과수 크기 및 형태, 재식거리)된 과수원에 잘 적응하도록 설계 제작되어, 과수 위를 지나가면서 내부에 설치된 진동장치와 컨테이너로 과일을 수확하고, 와인용 포도 수확기가 대표적임. 기계수확이 가능하도록 과수원 조성단계에서부터 재배양식(과수 좌우 및 전후 거리)을 기계의 제원(바퀴 간격, 작업부 간격 등)에 맞추어 재배함. 과일 수확로봇에 관한 연구는 활발하고 일부에서 실증시험단계에 있음. 결론: 구체적인 추진방향을 제시하면, 단기적으로는 과일 수확작업자의 작업편이성과 노동강도를 줄일 수 있도록 소형 저가 범용성이 우수한 보조기구/기계의 보급을 확대하고, 중장기적으로는 수확기계/수확로봇 개발을 위한 연구개발비 투자를 늘리는 동시에, 기계/로봇이 과수원에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 수형 재식거리 등 재배양식의 표준화가 추진되어야 함.

Assessment Report of Bacterial Contamination in Some School Dining Services with Table Swabs and Air Samples (학교식당 및 교실배식 과정 전·후 미생물 오염에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate microbial contamination in the school food service environment for the assessment of microbial food safety. Methods: We collected both swab samples from tables and desks and airborne bacterial samples from an elementary school (School A) and a high school (School B). Heterotrophic plate count, total coliform, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus cereus were measured with selective media to quantify microbial concentration. PCR assay targeting 16S rRNA genes was performed to identify the strains of S. aureus and B. cereus isolated. In addition, we made a food service checklist for the locations to evaluate the food service environment. A Wilcoxon test was employed to examine the differences in microbial concentration between before lunchtime and afterwards. Results: Heterotrophic plate counts showed higher levels after-lunch compared to before-lunch at School B. However, levels of S. aureus were higher in the after-lunch period (p<0.05) in both classrooms and in the cafeteria in School A. B. cereus was only sparsely detected in School B. Several samples from food dining carts were found to be contaminated with bacteria, and facilities associated with food delivery were found to be vulnerable to bacterial contamination. Although microbial concentrations in the air showed little difference between before- and after-lunchtime in the cafeteria in School A, those in classrooms were greater after-lunchtime at both schools. Conclusion: Our results suggested that the microbial safety in schools after lunchtime of concern. Necessary preventive measures such as hygiene education for students and food handlers should be required to minimize microbial contamination during food service processes in schools.

Eine Untersuchung zum analogischen Ausgleich der starken Verben im Mittelhochdeutschen (중세고지독어 강변화동사의 유추동화 고찰)

  • Das Forschungsziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, den linguistischen Begriff der Analogie zu definieren, und die auftretenden analogischen Ausgleichsprozesse vom Mittelhochdeutschen zum Neuhochdeutschen und auch im Neuhochdeutschen selbst insbesondere im System der starken Verben vorzuzeigen und zu $erkl\"{a}ren$. Und diese Forschungsergebnisse sind wie folgt. $Au{\ss}er$ dem Phonemwandel, der immer das Phonemsystem tangiert, gibt es M$Lautver\"{a}nderungen$, die auf assoziativer Ubertragung von Lautungen aus konkurrierenden sprachlichen Formen beruhen, die sog. Analogiebildungen. $N\"{a}mlich$ in der sprachlichen Entwicklung vom Mittelhochdeutschen zum Neuhochdeutschen zeigt sich eine sehr starke innere Tendenz der Sprache, diese durch $gesetzm\"{a}{\ss}igen$ Lautwandel entstandene Formenvielfalt innerhalb eines Paradigmas zu vereinheitlichen.
