  • 본연구는 한국형 고속전철용 신호시스템 시제품들의 시험평가 중 운용환경시험의 항목, 시험기준, 방법 그리고 시험결과에 대해 설명하였다. 이 한국형 고속전철용 신호시스템의 운용환경 시험을 위해 국내외 적용 가능한 규격 또는 기준을 조사분석하여 본 시험에 적합한 기준 및 방법을 도출하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 개발된 시제품들에 대한 운용환경시험을 수행하였다. 본 시험을 통해 개발된 시제품들의 운용환경 특성이 검증되었으며, 이후에는 이들 시제품들의 현장시험을 수행할 예정이며 이를 통해 최종적인 한국형 신호시스템의 시제품의 시험평가를 마무리할 예정이다.

  • The high-speed EMU is assembled with distributed EMI sources. Therefore, it contains more electromagnetic sources nearby the distributed victims than the existing concentrated traction system. The electromagnetic sources and victims are identified in this research, and the methodology how to handle EMI/EMS/EMC of the high-speed EMU will be developed for safer operation. It includes measurement method, safety standards of control units and others, and performance evaluations of the firstly developed trial products for the EMU. Also influences by modern telecommunication equipments and effect of PLD(power line disturbance) are to be surveyed in this research.

  • Computer aided simulation is an essential part in planning, design, and operation of railway systems. To determine the adequate performance and specification of railway system, it is necessary to calculate train performances such as distance, speed, power during train's running. This paper presents result of train performance simulation using the program that developed for Korea high speed train. To verify result of simulation, we have compared that with experiment data.

  • The demand for an environment-friendly transportation system, equipped with low energy consumption, and low-or zero-pollution has been on the increase since the beginning of the World Trade Organization era. Simultaneously, the consistent growth of high-speed tram technology, combined with market share, has sparked a fierce competition among technologically-advanced countries like France, Germany, and Japan in an effort to keep the lead in high-speed train technology via extensive Research and development(R&D) expenses. These countries are leaders in the race to implement the next-generation transportation system, build intercontinental rail way networks and export the high-speed train as a major industry commodity. The need to develop our own(Korean) 'high-speed train' technology and its core system technology layouts including original technology serves a few objectives: They boost the national competitive edge; they develop an environmental friendly rail road system that can cope with globalization and minimize the social and economic losses created by the growing traffic-congested delivery costs, environment pollution, and public discomforts. In turn, the 'G7 Project-Development of High Speed Railway Technology' held between 1996 and 2002 for a six-year period was focused on designing a domestic train capable of traveling at a speed of 350km/h combined and led to the actual implementation of engineering and producing the '2000 high-speed train:' This paper summarizes and introduces one of the G7 Projects-specifically, the design segment achievement within the development of train system engineering technology. It is true that the design aspect of the Korean domestic railway system program as a whole was lacking when compared with the advanced railroad countries whose early phase of train design emphasized the design aspect. However, having allowed the active participation of expert designers in the early phase of train design in the current project has led to a new era of domestic train development and the implementation of a way to meet demand flexibly with newly designed trains. The idea of a high-speed train in Korea and its design concept is well-conceived: a faster, more pleasant, and silent based Korean high-speed train that facilitates a new travel culture. A Korean-type of high-speed train is acknowledged by passengers who travel in such trains. The Korean high-speed prototype train has been born, combining aerodynamic air-cushioned design, which is the embodiment of Korean original design of forehead of power car minimized aerodynamic resistance using a curved car body profile, and the improvement of the interior design with ergonomics and the accommodation of the vestibule area through the study of passenger behavior and social culture that is based on the general passenger car.

  • This paper proposes the Systematic Design Methodology of the Korean High Speed Train. High Speed Train does not operate in isolation and is a part of a rail system which is influenced through input and output effects from the environment and from the neighbouring system. To fullfil its overall desired function, such input and output relationships between the systems must be considered in the system boundary conditions. Therefore, the overall interrelationship of all these effects has to be carefully considered during the design process. Here proposed methodology may provide a guide line and criteria for the systematic problem solving method of that highly complex High Speed Train System.

An Evaluation of Crashworthiness for the Full Rake KHST Using 1-D Dynamic Model (1차원 동역학 모델을 이용한 한국형 고속전철의 충돌 안전도 평가)

  • One of the best methods to evaluate crashworthiness of a full rake trainset is to analyse 1-dimensional dynamic model using dampers, nonlinear springs and bars, and masses. In this study, the crashworthiness of KHST has been evaluated by analysing a nonlinear dynamic model made up of springs/bars-dampers-masses. The numerical results show that the KHST can absorb more kinetic energy at lower impact forces and lower accelerations in case of heavy collisions, if compared with KTX. Also, the KHST can be protected from any damage in its car-body and electric components except the energy absorbing tube in case of light collisions, like train-to-train accidents at speed under 8 kph. On the other hand, the KTX may be more damaged in the light collisions because there is no energy absorbing tube.

The allowable sound levels of major noise sources for the indoor-noise requirements of KHST (한국형 고속전철(KHST) 실내소음 설계기준을 위한 주요 소음원의 허용소음도)

  • It is required that the indoor-noise level of KHST (Korean High Speed Train) should be lower than 66 dB(A) at 300 km/h. In this study, the indoor-noise level of KHST has been predicted to determine the maximum allowable sound power levels of major noise sources. It is found that the indoor-noise requirements for KHST can be met by increasing the transmission losses of the floor and side-wall structures as well as by lowering the sound power levels of the major noise sources.
