해외학술교류활발, 한국치의학의 수출로까지

  • 치과계에서 해외학술교류가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 과거 70년대만 하더라도 비자를 받기가 어려워 해외에 나가는 것이 어려운 일이었으나 이제 세계의 학술을 배우고 받아들이기는 마음먹기에 달린 일이 돼버렸다. 또하나 국내에서 개최되는 다양한 학술대회에서의 외국연자의 강연 또한 일상적 모습에 지나지 않는다. 치과계에서 해외학술교류 현황은 어느정도인지 대학과 개원가의 자매결연 현황을 통해 살펴보고 학술교류 및 자매결연이 형식에 치우치지 않고 활성화되기 위한 방안에 대해 살펴본다.

Suggestions for Settlement Stable Employment Culture of Dental Hygienist (치과위생사의 안정적인 고용문화 정착을 위한 제언)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the causes of career interruptions among dental hygienists, institutional measures required for their long service and ways of creating a stable employment culture for them in determine how to resolve labor shortage, create stable jobs, and step up the reemployment of idle manpower. In addition, the following suggestions are made for the establishment of a stable employment culture for dental hygienists by analyzing related literature, research materials, and information such as forums for establishing appropriate jobs for female dental workers. First, a system should be set up to prevent career interruption among dental hygienists. The work environment should be improved to prevent career breaks, and the wages, working hours, and working style should be efficiently structured to maintain the tenure of employees. Second, a plan should be devised to make use of idle manpower, and a variety of necessary programs should be developed. With respect to regular working hours, the time conversion system should be used, which reduces the amount of time one would want to work while receiving a national subsidy. Third, dental hygienists working in different occupations for marriage, childbirth, childcare, school and personal hygiene should make a way to return to the dental system immediately when they want. Fourth, the government should take institutional measures and offer down-to-earth support and benefits for women consideration their social characteristics to guarantee a balance between work and childcare.

Research on the Images and Preference of Work Values of the Dental Laboratory Technician (치과기공사의 이미지와 선호도 조사)

  • The study surveyed 350 people who are over 18 and not related to dentistry with questionnaires in order to examine image and preference of dental technicians. The data analysis was done using the SPSS 21.0 for Windows. As for the analysis methods, the study used the frequency analysis, percentage, t-test, f-test. Through these analyses, the following conclusions were made. The score on the image of dental technicians declined in the order of occupational image(3.62), work image(3.46). The necessity of professional knowledge and techniques in the occupational image had the highest score with 4.17. Also, the image showing that it is professional had a score of 4.14 and the image that shows hardworking and stressful occupation showed the lowest score with 2.43. The study on the preference of dental technicians showed a low score of 2.67. The respondents who are in the 20s(3.53), and who are students(3.29) showed a high score. Also, people who have monthly income of less than 1.5 million won showed a high score of 2.91.With the help of information technology.

  • This research is to identify the status of the curriculum based on dental hygiene programs, the awareness about medical service technologists, etc. act and job demands of students in the department of dental hygiene. The data was collected by self-reported questionnaires from 536 dental hygiene students. This data was analyzed using SPSS 19.0K program for Windows with a statistical significance level of 0.05. The level of objective awareness of the current Medical Service Technologists Act was higher for females(9.14±1.11) than for males(8.56±1.79)(p=0.043). Meanwhile, there was little difference between college and university(p=0.639), whereas the level dropped as the number of clinical practice experiences went up(p=0.045). Therefore, the law in convergence needs to be revised to reflect the reality of dental hygienists' work, and the dental community needs to change its perception that dental hygienists are not only recognized as assistant workers but also as business partners.
