On April 27 2018, North-South Korea agreed to establish the practical methods for connecting the railway in the inter-Korean summit talks. This is often reported that the train will be operated directly between Busan and Europe. However, there are many problems for the railway to directly connect between Busan and Europe. Because a train from Busan to Europe should pass through North Korea, China or Russia, and each national railway systems are different. Thus, South Korean railway has to study thoroughly an interoperability before railways directly operates between a nation and another. The standards and technical harmony for direct connection with a different railway network is very important, because a rail transport is a total network system. This paper surveyed a European railway interoperability and studied on the basic direct operation for the North-South Korean railway systems.

Railroad is considered as an eco-friendly transportation mode because it emits lower greenhouse gases and air pollutants and consumes less energy compared to trucking. To promote rail freight, many countries have implemented various policies, while South Korea has implemented few substantial policies. This study aims to compare and analyze rail freight policies of various countries in order to suggest policy implications to South Korea. We analyze relevant policies of 9 countries; these are classified into 5 categories, and we provide policy implications for facilitating rail freight infrastructure and equipments, grants for the transportation cost using freight rail, and road freight restriction policy.

The purpose of this study is to predict the railway cargo volume on Busan new-port and north-port, in order to revitalize railway transport. This paper is organized as follows. Section 1 presents the description of the objective and methods on this study. Section 2 presents the status of Railway Cargo volumes and Construction plan of railway facilities in Busan New port. Section 3 presents the Forecast Railway Cargo volume using a volume ratio, actual volume records and another predicted datas. Section 4 summarizes our conclusions and further research topics. Especially, korea faces enforcement of green Logistics policy. Modal shift to trail freight transportation is one of ways, but there are no more detail plans. so it need that a cooperation system in government department, a indirect subside policy shift to rail freight transportation from trucking for revitalization of Railway Freight transportation.

This article considers how the rail track charges of the advanced countries are performed and derived political implication to Korail. In case of North America and Japan, rail track charges are being decided to collect the infrastructure maintenance cost. In European countries, the separation of infrastructure and operation is realized and the railroad track charges are based on MC+ principle. On the other hand, Korail is paying construction cost of KTX as well as maintenance cost in Korea. As for this, railroad reform including rail track charging should be reconsidered.

본 논문에서는 철도 인근 주거지역, 철도 건널목, 철도 터널, 철도 교량을 위험 상황으로 설정하고, 각 상황이 철도가 아닌 다른 상황에서 발생할 때와 철도에서 발생할 때와의 위험도 차이를 분석하며 철도 위험 상황에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석한다. 또한, 요인별 위험도의 기준을 설정하고 설정한 위험 상황과 유사한 상황에 대한 데이터 발생 시 해당 데이터를 웹 어플리케이션에 송출하여 소비자들에게 서비스를 제공한다.

영국에서 세계 최초의 철도가 탄생할 즈음에는 교통기관으로서 이미 도로와 운하를 이용한 전국적인 교통망이 만들어져 있었으며, 철도는 나중에 조잡하게 교통망이 형성되기 시작하였다. 우리 나라의 경우에 통일신라시대 이후 조선말기까지의 도로는 주로 외침을 방어하기 위한 우마차 도로가 전부였고, 이후 조선말기와 일제시대에 자동차가 도입되면서 근대적인 도로가 본격적으로 형성되기 시작하였다. (중략)
