Geographic Information System(CIS) deal with data which can potentially be useful for a wide range of applications. The information needed by each application can be vary, specially in resolution, detail level, application view, and representation style, as defined in the modeling phase of the geographic database design. To be able to deal with such diverse needs, GIS must offer features that allow multiple representation for each geographic entity of phenomenon. This paper addresses on the problem of formal definition of the objects and their relationships on the geographical information systems. The geographical data is divided into two main classes : geo-objects and geo-fields, which describe discrete and continuous representations of spatial reality. I studied the attributes and the relationship roles over geo-object and nongeo-object. Therefore, this paper contributed on the efficient design of geographical class hierarchy schema by means of formalizing attribute-domains of classes.

과거에는 지리정보시스템이 고가의 엔진을 사용하여 구축된 지리정보데이터를 활용하였다. 따라서 단지 전문가나 특정한 사용자 중심으로 활용되었으나 인터넷 기술의 급속한 발전으로 언제 어디서나 지도를 이용하려는 일반 사용자들의 요구가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 여러 지리정보검색의 구현기술 중 Java의 Servlet기술을 이용하여 관광지리정보검색 시스템을 구현하여 서버의 과중한 부하를 막았으며 진보된 그래픽과 인터페이스를 제공하고 데이터 보안성의 문제와 동적으로 변하는 자료의 시각적 표현을 구현하였다.

As the digitization of maps in Korea has been completed in 1998, local governments begin to apply digital maps for their administrative convenience. In applying GIS to local administration, there are some important aspects to be considered such as technical aspect, organizational aspect and data managerial aspect. Using surveys to local governments, the study examines the implementation factors such as leadership, GIS organizational settings, human and financial resources, and education programs which are related to the applications of GIS to local governments in Korea. As a conclusion, the study proposes that organizational and human factors be combined harmoniously with technical factors from the beginning stage of GIS installation for the successful implementation of GIS applications to local governments.

웹 지리정보시스템은 사용하기 쉬운 사용자 인터페이스를 제공함으로써 사용자들로 하여금 공간 데이터의 접근과 분석기능을 쉽게 제공한다. 그러나 이들 시스템들은 독자적인 지리 데이터로의 접근만을 허용하고 분산되어 있는 지리 데이터로 접근할 수 없다. 이는 지리 데이터의 구조와 액세스 방법 등이 서로 상이하기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 OLE DB을 기반으로 한 분산 지리 데이터의 상호운영성에 대한 기술한다. 또한 분산 지리데이터 서버에서 전달된 데이터는 웬 기반 환경에서 효율적으로 사용되기 위하여 XML 기반의 GML로 변환되어 진다. GML 은 지리정보시스템을 위한 XML기반의 웹 언어로 본문에서는 이를 기술한다. 본 시스템은 컴포넌트 형태로 제공함으로써 구축 비용 및 다양한 사양한 요구사항을 효율적으로 충족시킬 수 있다.

오늘날 우리사회에서는 유비쿼터스를 비롯한 정보기술의 급격한 발전에 따라 GIS를 통하여 누구나 일장 속에서 직접 지리정보를 활용할 수 있게 되면서 양질의 지리정보에 대하여 관심을 보이는 편이다. 본 연구에서 다루고자하는 지리정보는 일반시민의 생활과 가장 밀접하고 친숙한 형태의 정보 중 하나이며, 정보로서의 활용도가 매우 높다. 하지만 아직까지 지리정보 데이터베이스 서비스 품질 평가에 주안점을 둔 평가모델이나 평가차원을 도출해보려는 시도에 대한 선행연구가제대로 된 적이 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지리정보 데이터베이스 서비스 경우에 서비스품질에 핵심적인 속성들이 무엇인지, 고객만족에 영향을 미치는 가장 중요한 데이터베이스 서비스 품질속성은 무엇인지 알아보고자 한다. 또한 고객의 만족을 실현할 수 있기 위해서는 데이터베이스 서비스 품질속성들이 각각 어떤 수준으로 제공되어야 할 것인가 라는 문제를 컨조인트 분석을 통해 해결해 보고자 한다.

지리 정보와 속성 정보를 바탕으로 사용자에게 다양한 분석 기능을 제공하는 인터넷 지리정보시스템은 지리정보서비스 사용자 층을 더욱 확대 시키고 있다. 그러나 이들 시스템은 개방성, 상호운용성을 지원하지 않으며 기능 및 데이터 지원 확장, 다양한 데이터 소스로의 접근 등의 어려움을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는, OGC(Open GIS Consortium)의 웹 지리정보서비스 아키텍쳐에 기반을 둔 상호운용성과 XML 기반 데이터서비스 등 개방형 웹 지리정보서비스 시스템을 설계, 구현한다. 또한, 컴포넌트 기반의 아키텍쳐를 바탕으로 단위 기능을 컴포넌트 형태로 제공함으로써 구축 비용 및 다양한 사양한 요구사항을 효율적으로 충족시킬 수 있다. 개발된 서비스 컴포넌트는 객체 지향형 모델링 툴인 UML(Unified Modeling Language)로 설계되었고, ATL/COM 과 C++ 환경에서 구축되었다. 이는 재사용성 뿐만 아니라 상호 운용성, 언어 독립성, 쉬운 개발환경 등을 제공한다.

지리정보시스템(GIS) 분야에서 3차원 가시화에 대한 요구는 점점 높아져가고 있다. 3차원으로 표현되는 GIS 정보는 현재 제공되고 있는 2차원 GIS 데이터 정보 표현의 한계를 극복할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 더 높은 가독성과 함께 표현할 수 있는 정보의 양과 형식이 다양하여 GIS의 효용가치를 더욱 증대시킬 수 있다. 따라서 공간자료(Spatial Data)의 오차한계를 극복하고, 정밀한 3차원 데이터를 효율성 있게 구축하여 유지 및 관리할 수 있는 3차원 지리정보시스템(3D GIS)의 다양한 모델들이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 부산광역시 해운대구 전역을 대상으로 3차원 수치지도를 제작하고 이를 기반으로 국내 최초의 도시 3차원 지리정보시스템(3D GIS) 구축을 목적으로 진행되며 클라이언트/서버 환경의 지리정보시스템 구조를 기반으로 하여 3차원 지리정보시스템(3D GIS)을 설계하고 구현한다.

최근 스마트폰의 보급이 급격하게 확산됨에 따라 많은 어플리케이션(앱)이 개발되어 스마트폰 사용자에게 유용한 서비스들이 제공되고 있다. 통계지리정보서비스 또한 어플리케이션을 통해 서비스되고 있으며, 현재 국내에서는 통계청에서 'S-네비게이터' 앱을 통해 제공하고 있다. 하지만 통계청에서 제공하고 있는 서비스는 단순 통계지리정보서비스만을 제공하고 있으며, 사용자 인터페이스 구조가 복잡하다는 단점이 있다. 특히 현재의 통계지리정보서비스는 사용자에게 단순한 정보만을 제공하기 때문에 복합 통계지리정보서비스 개발이 요구된다. 이 논문에서는 복합 통계지리정보서비스 제공을 위한 앱을 설계하고 구현한 결과를 보인다.

통계지리정보는 기존의 텍스트 기반 통계정보를 공간정보와 결합한 정보로서 공공 민간 분야의 다양한 의사결정을 위한 핵심 기반 정보로 그 활용성이 주목받고 있다. 본 논문은 통계지리 정보와 이를 이용한 서비스 구축 및 유지 관리 과정에서 발생하는 상호운용성 문제의 해결을 위한 접근방법으로 기존의 공간정보 표준 참조 모델들을 기반으로 통계지리 정보 및 서비스 참조모델을 제안하고, 각각의 정보 및 서비스 분류에 해당하는 표준화 요구사항을 제시한다.

Much research on semantic geographic information systems that incorporating the Semantic Web and geographic information has been actively studied. However, the existing geographic information systems have a system dependency problem that users can input and retrieve non-spatial information only in a specific system. It also causes difficulty in providing rich services. Therefore, this paper proposes an implementation model for population of Geo-ontology from non-structured Web resources. The proposed model can populate instances for Web ontology independently of systems, and thus it enables a richer Web service development. Finally, this paper shows the prototype that populates instances including a Geo-ontology building example for a University selected as an application domain.
