This study was conducted to raise awareness of careers in the Department of Library and Information Science (LIS) as well as to investigate current awareness and preferences for LIS Department as a strategy to cope with the rapidly changing university environment. To do this, a survey of high school students was carried out, with results as follows: First, awareness about the LIS Department and awareness about librarians in our country's high school students was very low. Second, for possible careers in LIS Department, students responded that a graduate of LIS department was likely to enter the workplace in public libraries, state libraries, university libraries, or school libraries, but they would like to work at broadcasting library, national libraries, school libraries, university libraries, public libraries, or portals. Third, awareness of the career path for the LIS Department showed a very large impact on a preference for the LIS Department. Therefore, students who have heard about the LIS Department are highly probable to select this department when they reach university.

The purpose of this paper is to study the information technology-related courses offered by the Departments of Library and Information Science. Rapid development of computer and telecommunication technologies has brought many changes in the work environments of libraries as well as librarians functions. Accordingly the Departments of Library and Information Science have been teaching information technology to meet the changing needs of the information environment. This research aims at finding out how the information technology-related courses have been changed, what are the contents of those courses, and what libraries need as for as information technology is concerned.

본 연구의 목적은 바이오인포매틱스 분야의 회색문헌과 백색문헌의 초록을 대상으로 단어 동시출현(word co-occurrence)네트워크 분석을 통해 해당 분야의 연구 동향을 비교 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2010년부터 2012년까지 발표된 회색문헌인 회의자료(proceeding)와 백색문헌인 학술논문(journal article)의 초록을 SCOPUS, IEEEXplore, Microsoft academic search에서 수집하였다. 단어 동시출현 네트워크를 분석한 결과 회색문헌의 주요 연구는 분석도구 및 방법으로, 백색문헌의 주요 연구는 바이오인포매틱스의 주요 연구대상인 유전자 발현, 단백질 서열 및 구조 등으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a media literacy education model that helps public librarians plan and operate media literacy education programs in South Korea. To develop the model, a mixed methods study consisting of a literature review, a survey of librarians, and interviews with professors, public librarians, and media literacy instructors was conducted, Additionally, an expert advisory committee was formed and consulted to obtain opinions on the developed model. As a result of survey and interviews, public libraries and librarians are perceived to have a responsibility to improve citizens' media literacy, and public libraries are recognized as the best educational institution to achieve that goal. By reflecting on the literature review and analysis of the research findings, the research team developed, and presents herein, a media literacy education model that includes educational objectives, core competencies, educational targets, media types, and roles and functions for each educational subject.

본 연구는 공공도서관 사인시스템을 조사하고 그 결과를 토대로 실무에서 사용할 수 있는 공공도서관 사인시스템 체크리스트를 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 배경은 공공도서관 사인시스템의 현황과 도서관 사인의 지속적인 활용에 있다. 이에 따라 공공도서관 현장 조사와 문헌 조사를 통하여 공공도서관 사인시스템 체크리스트를 제시하였다. 본 연구의 공공도서관 사인시스템의 체크리스트는 사인 유지 보수 및 관리인 실무적 측면과 사인 기능 별 측면을 고려하여 작성되었다. 도서관 사인 관리자가 도서관 사인을 구축하고 관리할 때 효율적이고 지속가능한 도서관 사인을 구축할 수 있도록 하였다.

This study recognizes the need for Korean university society to have to prepare for the coming of the Fourth industrial revolution era and for rapid decline in the school-age population, and presents a diagnosis of the current situation of the department of domestic library and information science. To respond to such issues, it explores the identity of the department of library and information science, and the future development direction thereof. The findings of this study reveal as of February 2020 that 36 universities offer the department of library and information science, while 18 universities abolished the department. Further, compared to 2013, 2019 saw the number of the students enrolled and full-time faculty decline by 38.5% and 13.4%, respectively. Thus, the identity and future development direction of Korea's department of library and information science were examined by dividing the issue into 5 parts. Five proposals thus were presented: First, convergence education is required at the level of academic identity. Second, at the level of law and state, the department of library and information science, it should be guaranteed that the library and information science should be promoted and that the employment should be stabilized. Third, at the level of association, the social image of the department of library and information science should be enhanced. Fourth, at the level of universities, the support for and promotion of the department of library and information science should be boosted. Fifth, at the level of the department, student-oriented education should be bolstered and the employment rate should be enhanced.

Music therapy has been proved to be effective in treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Many studies have investigated the effect of music therapy techniques on symptoms of a given disease but there has been no efforts in classifying those studies by specific symptoms of diseases, although patients, caregivers and music therapists have difficulty in discovering documents that they need to treat certain diseases. Thus, in the study, we propose a method to group music therapy-related publications by the music therapy techniques mainly used for a given disease. We expect that it will help music therapists and patients to find papers to help them to cure a specific disorder.

본 연구의 배경은 공공도서관 사인시스템의 현황과 지속적인 활용에 있다. 수많은 정보 중 필요한 정보를 선별하고 수용하는 것이 중요한 현대사회에서 사인시스템은 원만한 상호작용을 위한 주요수단이다. 특히 복잡한 구조와 공간의 기능을 함께 지니고 있는 도서관에서 정보를 파악하기 위해서 명확한 지각효과를 갖춘 사인의 역할은 무엇보다 중요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 이용자가 공공도서관을 이용할 때 어떠한 요소가 정보를 수용하고 시각적으로 인지하는데 많은 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 그리고 선정된 도서관을 대상으로 기능 및 시각적 요소에 따라 사례분석을 한 후 이용자 만족도 조사를 실시하여 효과적이고 편리하게 도서관을 이용할 수 있도록 정보를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

Current status of curricula were examined and compared. A model for a new curricular of the library and information science for the school program were suggested.

데이터 사이언스가 경영, 학술, 교육 등의 전 영역에 확산되면서 변화를 이끌어내고 있다. 문헌정보학과 도서관의 입장에서 데이터 사이언스라는 대세를 수용하는 전략에 대해서 데이터 리터러시를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 연구 데이터 리터러시, 통계 데이터 리터러시, 실무 데이터 리터러시의 세 가지로 나누어 살펴본 결과, 데이터 리터러시는 데이터와 관련된 기술과 역량을 강조하는 용어로서 문헌정보학과 도서관 현장에서 데이터 사이언스를 주도적인 입장에서 수용하는 브랜드로 육성시킬 필요가 있다고 판단된다.
