A Study on Damping Value of Bridge in High-speed Railway (고속전철 교량 감쇠 연구)

  • The dynamic characteristics such as natural frequency, mode shape and damping ratio are most important parameters in the high-speed railway bridges rather than general roadway bridges. Also, the need to know the dynamic behavior of bridges greatly increased in recent years. In the early of 1990s, to design the high-speed railway bridges, damping ratio recommended in general code was 2.5~7.5%. However, these values were not applied in all cases. Therefore, obtaining the damping value of specific structures is important to get the correct variable for design of high-speed railway bridges. The purpose of this study is mainly to obtain the damping ratio of high-speed railway bridges. The average damping ratio of high-speed railway bridges evaluated from a field test is about 2.4%.

  • The computer simulation techniques were adopted to evaluate effects of seating positions of passenger under the various accident scenarios. The baseline of computer simulation model was tunned by the sled impact tests which conducted under the upright and standard seating positions. This study shows the effect of relative velocity between occupant and struck vehicle while occupant is impacted to a front seat's seatback. Although, base on the current accident scenarios, KHST is performed well enough to protect average adult male occupants. However, Results from the tests indicate small size occupant or higher impact speed may cause sever neck and femur injuries.

  • Train crashes involve complex interaction between deformable bodies in multiple collisions. The purpose of this study is to suggest the effective analytical procedure using hybrid model fur the crashworthiness of motorized trailer of high speed train. The hybrid approach, with very short modeling times and reduced computation times to extract the global behaviour and to perform a pre-optimization of the considered structure. Firstly, various types of crash events are investigated and the conditions for numerical simulation are defined. In this paper, the structural stiffness and crashworthiness of Korean High Speed Train trailer was examined through FE analysis. Crash analyses on energy absorbing part and safety zone were carried out to determine each section force.

  • 터널 시공과 굴착과정에서 파쇄대, 절리, 연약대, 균열 등 암반에서의 불연속면은 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 지반 고유의 특징인 불확실성에 의한 터널 설계와 시공 과정에서 겪는 많은 시행오차를 최소화하기 위해서 국내의 터널 붕락 현장의 지반조사 자료를 분석하여 터널 붕락 유형 및 규모를 제시할수 있는 Geo-predict 시스템을 개발하였다. Geo-predict 시스템은 총 104개 터널 붕괴/붕락자료(국외84개, 국내20개)를 분석한 자료를 테이터베이스로 인공신경망 학습을 토해서 터널 붕괴 형태와 규모를 추론하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 Geo-predict의 개발과정 및 구성.기능을 소개하였으며 104개 터널 현장 자료를 지반조건별로 분석하고 이를 데이터베이스화하여 인공신경함을 이용한 추론 시스탬을 구축하고, 2개 고속전철 터널현장과 1개 지하철 시공현장에 적용성 평가를 실시하여, 터널의 붕락 가능 및 붕락 규모를 추론하였다.

  • A noise reduction of noise barrier for high speed train was measured by using scale down model test. A selected types of noise barriers were simple vertical barrier, interference type barrier with plate, interference type barrier with cylindrical pipes. On experiment, in order to make similar present test lane condition, reduced train model and multiple noise sources were considered. As a result. interference type noise barrier with cylindrical pipes is most effective than other barriers. A present height of noise barrier which is established in a test lane is not high enough for reducing patograph noise.

  • As the delay of the Kyungbu High Speed Railroad, HST should use conventional line through Daegoo to Pusan until the new railroad build. High speed railroad noise is one of the main causes of environmental impact. Whenever HST on conventional railroad line is planned or a housing project near an existing railroad is proposed, an estimate of the relevant noise levels is usually required. For this, it is necessary to Quantify those parameters that affect the railroad noise. This paper deals with an estimation of high speed railroad noise on conventional line.

  • A study on collision analysis of TGV-K using a 2-dimensional model is described to evaluate its crashworthiness. Two-dimensional analysis gives good information on overriding behaviour and impact forces applied to interconnecting devices such as side buffers, ball & socket joints, hooks, pins, and fingers. Since the headstock of TGV-K is not designed in a crashworthy point of view, its conceptual design fur KHST(Korean High Speed Train), under development, is suggested to improve crashworthiness. The suggested design, which adopts an energy absorber and a crashworthy headstock, is compared with the conventional headstock on dynamic behaviour to the vertical direction under the accident scenario of SNCF (collision at 110km/h against a movable rigid mass of 15 ton). It is concluded that the design modification make little difference in vertical motion. To evaluate validation of the 2-dimensional model, the results fur longitudinal motion is compared with those of 1-dimemsional one. It is found that the two results are in good agreements.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic behaviors of KHSR(Korea High-Speed Railway) bridge supported by elastomeric bearings subjected to high-speed vehicles. The effects of damping on the dynamic behaviors are also studied. The train composed of two power cars, two motor cars and eighteen passenger cars are simulated using constant moving forces for simplicity and effectiveness in the analysis. Direct integration method are used to solve the dynamic equation of motion. The bridge analyzed is real bridge with 2@40m span and concrete continuos box girder. The bridge is model led using frame element in three dimensional space. From the results of this study, the effects of elastomeric bearing on the dynamic responses of bridge(especially vertical accelerations) may cause undesirable behaviors. Damping are very important in the dynamic behaviors of the bridge subjected to high-speed railways. And so, dynamic analysis of steel bridge for high-speed railway supported by elastomeric bearings should be performed carefully.

Transverse Analysis of Prestressed Concrete Box Girder High-Speed Railway Bridges (고속전철 PSC 박스거더 교량의 횡방향 해석)

  • Many kinds of methods have been developed to carry out transverse analysis of prestressed concrete(PSC) box girder bridges. However, most bridge engineers only use the simple frame model to analyze PSC box girder in transverse direction because of its simplicity and easy usage. But, this frame model has many problems such that it can't consider warping, distortion and longitudinal load distribution. In this study, the results from simple frame model and 3-dimensional shell model with UIC load are compared to show its validity. The results from frame model are slightly larger than those of shell model in symmetric loading case. But, positive bending moment of top slab is larger in shell model than frame model in case subject to anti-symmetric loading. It shows that simple frame model can't always give conservative results, so a practical tool whose treatment is easy and whose product is reliable shall be developed as soon as possible.

  • A formulation to perform static equilibrium and linear vibration analysis is presented in this paper. The formulation employs minimum number of equations of motion which are derived by using a partial velocity matrix, The static equilibrium analysis is performed first, then the linear vibration analysis is performed at the static equilibrium position. By using the formulation presented in this paper, static equilibrium and linear vibration analysis of a high speed electric train system are performed. A single bogie system, a power vehicle, and a train system which consists of five vehicles are analyzed, respectively. Natural frequencies and a few lowest mode shapes of the three are identified in this paper.
