In Korea, the zero energy building was designated as the 7 new industries in the Ministry of Land and the 8 new industries in the Ministry of Industry. In order to maximize the insulation performance of the building envelope, improve the efficiency of building equipment, We are aiming. It is necessary to analyze the energy requirements of the buildings (cooling, heating, hot water supply, lighting, ventilation) of buildings with energy efficiency level of 1++ which is equivalent to the zero energy building certification system in Korea, It is aimed to be used as basic data for the advancement of energy building certification system. Zero Energy Building certification is estimated to be 61 buildings by 2017, and the approximate reference value and the first energy requirement for each of the five loads are calculated considering passive and active aspects. It is difficult to say that it is a clear standard because there is a small sample of data for calculating the load standard. However, it is necessary to interpret various methods in order to upgrade the Zero Energy Building certification standard in the future.
This study deals with the visual quality in the future urban landscape and architectural environment, and as such, aims to identify a scientific and objective aesthetic and visual quality from the perspective of empirical aesthetics. The empirical aesthetics provides a framework that can be utilized in understanding human perception, consciousness, and behavior and a way to categorize the visual quality and to explain and predict its effect. The study examines various theories on environmental perception, cognition, and some new approaches to environmental aesthetics, and tries to present aesthetic properties that can be applied to environmental design. First, the aesthetic experience in visual perception can be defined as a combined effect of psychobiological properties and human activity, i.e. an interaction between the formal and symbolic signs in environment and the conceptual framework of man. The effect of visual quality differs and varies a great deal, depending on the sociocultural, personal and collective value system, so it is hard to define it in absolute terms. Second, the impact of visual quality and its aesthetic effect has to do with pleasure, preference, the aptitude for survival, and self regulation. Third, aesthetics is one of the areas that can benefit a great deal from an interdisciplinary approach. and an empirical study such as this can be used as a basis for design, planning, and evaluation.

Due to the rapid urbanization and increased population, there is an increase in airtight nature of buildings which causes serious indoor air pollution. Among several indoor air pollutants, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from paint are of major concern. Therefore, there is an urge for the development of environmental friendly paint products. In this wok, a natural wall paint (NWP) was prepared by utilizing a natural clay material "sericite" as a main component. A small chamber test was carried out to identify the toxic substances release from NWP and the results were compared with two eco-friendly commercial paints. The total VOCs were detected in trace level inside the test chamber and their concentrations were below the recommended indoor air quality standards. Toluene was not detected for NWP, whereas formaldehyde was observed in trace level. The toxicity index results were compared with two commercial paints and found that NWP exhibited less harmful gas emission. Based on certification rating of building materials, NWP can be classified as the first grade of building materials. Due to the above advantages, the use of sericite as a major component in NWP will be a useful technique to maintain the indoor air quality.
Five year term monitoring investigating variation of allochthonous originated gravels are has been conducted in the beach gravel deposit of the Island Dokdo natural reserve which takes purity and uniqueness with enormous attention though a number of areas. The beach gravel deposits near the dock of the Dongdo and near the accommodation facility of the Seodo comprise various types of gravels including basalt, trachyte, and tuff from the Dokdo itself, and granite, rhyolite, gneiss, quartzite, marble, and concrete from elsewhere. The types of the allochthonous gravels on the basis of the study in 2011 and in 2016 shows no difference, so is the ranking of abundance of the allochthonous gravels; granite-concrete-gneiss in turn on the Dongdo, concrete-gneiss-granite in turn on the Seodo. Nevertheless, the relative ratio of the allochthonous gravel area against the total area is decreased. While it is suspected that the disintegrated facility and the influx of material for construction are the main 2 reasons for the contamination by allochthonous gravel, diminished total contamination ratio indicate that supervising allochthonous material has been improved; at least not worse during the 5 years. On the other hand, it is inferred that gradual influence of rockfall also has been made the gravel beach changed. Therefore, consistent rockfall investigation must be inquired.

Planning and designing training facilities has been developed from educational facilities, and increasingly diversified society has raised a need for facilities dedicated to training and education in a differentiated space separate from the one for regular works. This particular need of our times has led to the expansion of training facilities nationwide although they have something to be desired when it comes to planning and designing with sustainability associated with the locational characteristics of urban space as well as the unique types of facilities taken into account. Against this backdrop, this study will examined a variety of training facilities that have been established since 2000 through theoretical review and conduct intensive analysis on the characteristics of the planning aspects to suggest their significance and implications and to present the overall meanings and ramifications of planning approaches in consideration of new challenges modern training facilities are faced with, which have been revealed through architectural design competitions in recent years. The relevant implications are as follows. First, one of the locational advantages of training facilities, which is commanding beautiful scenery of the surrounding area, can be considered as intent to stress the aspect of a resort, one of the functions of any training facilities. As this study has demonstrated, many training facilities are located near around a beach or a lake. Second, training facilities can be classified into three different types in terms of their location: urban, suburban and resort and such locational characteristics are directly related to intended programs and differentiated links with target users. Third, the architectural styles of training institutes are differentiated in terms of harmonious arrangement between beautiful natural scenery and buildings in consideration of the layout characteristics of major facilities and the distance of ramps in and out of the facilities along with architectural features, including the transparency of building elevation and the type of slopes of roof structure. Fourth, the individual lodging buildings feature a variety of types depending on the design concept with different roles depending on the directional aspects such as the connection of ramps and the relations with the outside. Fifth, outdoor space plans are differentiated according to the intended purpose of training facilities. When it comes to gym facilities, for example, different outdoor space plans are found to be made depending on the original design concept such as outdoor playground-centered planning or golf facilities.

The current Development Impact Fee (DIF) Zoning Law allows Korean localities to designate the DIF Zone for the areas where there have been up-zoning in land-uses due to any minute additions and/or amendments in the existing clauses or provisions in the National Territory Planning Law as well as all other laws related to urban and regional planning. In reality, however, it is almost impossible to trace the sporadic and infinitesimal changes that might occur in every corner of the statutory clauses of a great number of planning related laws. This study, in an effort to overcome such practical difficulties, tries to chase the time-series zoning alterations in especially the consecutive land-use information layers of the Korea Land Information System (KLIS) as comparable analogues of the outcomes of the amendments in various planning laws. A study locality is chosen among the entire localities in the Capital Region based on the selection criteria dictated by the DIF Zoning Law such as the population- and building permit increase rate. It has been verified that the methodology suggested herein is practically applicable and successfully capable of extracting a number of DIF zones with considerable areal sizes, which could not have otherwise been possible. The consequences of this study, in this context, are expected to contribute to prevent the uncontrolled developments as the DIF Zoning Law itself was originally intended to achieve.
This paper aims to establish a Fengshui-based marketing model that companies engaged in selling dwelling spaces can utilize to increase their sales. The study is based on an investigation of appraisal statements and analysis techniques used in Fengshui. The Fengshui marketing model can be used for corporate advertising, sales promotions, public relations events, and for framing an overall marketing strategy according to changing consumer demand. As a sales promotion strategy, it can be used to influence consumer psychology and behavior. Although this study is limited to the all-pervasive advertising and marketing of houses by construction companies under installment plans, the Fengshui marketing method can also be used for the sale of store locations, space for product display, and so on. Initially, I analyze living spaces according to traditional Fengshui theory, and subsequently apply the modern method to study topographical space structures and geomagnetism disturbances. I present a standard form for writing the Fengshui appraisal statement based on the objective analytical method of Fengshui. With its shortcomings remedied, the appraisal statement can lead to high-quality advertising and increased valuations because it is based on objective data analysis and systematic evaluation of houses. In brief, I have designed the Fengshui marketing model as a sales promotion technique for the housing industry. I believe this study will contribute to the application of Fengshui in the housing industry's sales promotion efforts through high-quality advertising. Future research should evaluate Fengshui marketing in the housing industry based on case studies. Research questions to be addressed could include how Fengshui marketing has affected installment sales of houses and how Fengshui architectural practices affect general well-being. These studies would help propagate Fengshui marketing by validating its effectiveness. In addition, case studies should be undertaken to consider the practical applications of Fengshui marketing, how it can contribute to maximizing a company's image and profits, and how it can promote customer satisfaction.
Recently, the application of high strength and high performance concrete has been gradually increased as an important construction material for high rise and huge scaled construction. However, high performance concrete has undesirable characteristics of spalling subjected to high temperature due to its dense microstructure content. A spalling by fire brings surface failure and falling off concrete member. It is considered that spalling by fire should be taken into account for the safety of the concrete structure under fire. Therefore, in this paper, tests are carried out using high performance concrete containing polypropylene(PP) fiber in order to improve the fire resistance performance. PP fiber contents and member sizes are varied. According to experimental results, as for the influence of PP fiber contents, all the test specimens without PP fiber show entire failure in W/C of 35%, while they show nearly sound shape except some kinds of surface fracture in W/C of 55%. When PP fiber is contained more than 0.07%, favorable prevention effects of spatting by fire are obtained. As for the effects of test specimens size, it tends to increase the possibilities of spatting by fire as test specimens become larger. And spatting by fire at the edge of test specimens occurs more frequently than at the surface of test specimens. Residual compressive and tensile strength shows 45∼65 % of its original strength at W/C of 35%, and 30∼40% at W/C of 55 %.
Even though concrete is the most important material for building structures, its intrinsic gray color degrades urban esthetics. In order to improve this problem, coloring methods of mixing pigment in concrete batch and painting the surface of concrete surface have been tried. However, applications of the coloring methods in construction field are difficult due to high cost and low durability. Recently, acid stain agent is emerging as a new coloring method for concrete. It is able to apply a remarkably thin colored layer on a concrete surface from chemical reaction between acid and alkaline solutions. This study has examined the changes and variations of the surface layer of mortar specimen from chemical reaction of acid stained agents. The colors were changed into natural irregular stains according to aging. After the staining, no shape change was found from visible inspections. Microstructure of the colored surface applied with acid stained agent was much rougher than that of original mortar. When the colored layer was compared to original surface, crystals of hydrate such as $Ca(OH)_2$ and C-S-H gel were observed. Surface hardness was same or slightly higher in the colored layer. The value of pH was reduced by approximately 10%, weight contents of elements such as Ca, Si, and Al were low. In the chemical composition of the colored layer, the non-cement based elements of Mn, Cr, and Cu increased. Also, Fe and alkali elements of K and Na increased.
Recently, deflection of the slab during construction periods becoming one of the important issues because of increasing the large-span structures. Early removing the form and support of the slab to achieve the rapid construction cause falling-off in quality of the structures. To reduce these deterioration and make rapid construction, construction of strength and stiffness gain model is needed by the research about the early-age concrete properties. Previous research results indicated that concrete model in existing design codes could not provide the mechanical properties of early age concrete. This paper carried out the concrete compressive strength tests on the curing age at early age stage. Evaluation of the accuracy of compressive strength and modulus of elasticity gain formula in existing various design codes was performed based on this test results, and new design model was proposed. This new model will be useful to develop the new rapid construction methods or prevent the deterioration of the deflection at construction periods. Material tests were performed at 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 curing days, total 159 cylinder style specimens were tested. Based on analyzing the test results, the relationship between compressive strength and modulus of elasticity at early age was proposed.
