Applying the conventional machine-learning method which has been frequently used in health-care area has several fundamental problems for modern U-health service analysis. First of all, we are still lack of application examples of the traditional method for our modern U-health environment because of its short term history of U-health study. Second, it is difficult to apply the machine-learning method to our U-health service environment which requires real-time management of disease because the method spends a lot of time in the process of learning. Third, we cannot implement a personalized U-health diagnosis system using the conventional method because there is no way to assign weights on the disease-related variables although various kinds of machine-learning schemes have been proposed. In this paper, a novel diagnosis scheme PCADP is proposed to overcome the problems mentioned above. PCADP scheme is a personalized diagnosis method and it makes the bio-data analysis just a 'process' in the U-health service system. In addition, we offer a semantics modeling of the U-health ontology framework in order to describe U-health data and service specifications as meaningful representations based on this PCADP. The PCADP scheme is a kind of statistical diagnosis method which has characteristics of flexible structure, real-time processing, continuous improvement, and easy monitoring of decision process. Upto the best of authors' knowledge, the PCADP scheme and ontology framework proposed in this paper reveals one of the best characteristics of flexible structure, real-time processing, continuous improvement, and easy monitoring among recently developed U-health schemes.

Three small scale hollow circular reinforced concrete columns with aspect ratio 4.5 were tested under cyclic lateral load with constant axial load. Diameter of section is 400 mm, hollow diameter is 200 mm. The selected test variable is transverse steel ratio. Volumetric ratios of spirals of all the columns are 0.302~0.604% in the plastic hinge region. It corresponds to 45.9~91.8% of the minimum requirement of confining steel by Korean Bridge Design Specifications, which represent existing columns not designed by the current seismic design specifications or designed by seismic concept. The longitudinal steel ratio is 2.017%. The axial load ratio is 7%. This paper describes mainly crack behavior, load-displacement hysteresis loop, seismic performance such as equivalent damping ratio, residual displacement and effective stiffness and flexural over-strength of circular reinforced concrete bridge columns with respect to test variable. The regulation of flexural over-strength is adopted by Korea Bridge Design Specifications (Limited state design, 2012). The test results are compared with nominal strength, result of nonlinear moment-curvature analysis and the design specifications such as AASHTO LRFD and Korea Bridge Design Specifications(Limited state design).

GPS location information storage included in the HD black box is using a unique manner for each manufacturer does not have a specific standard. In this paper, in order to overcome the limitations of the storage space and thereby the image quality according to store GPS position information deteriorate to solve the problems that cause, we propose the location information concealment method included in the HDTV video content using a essential hidden region. HDTV video content is a Border Extender of 8 lines in the frame to the bottom of the compression will be required. This was inserted into the image of a gray scale used in block form in order to space the current position information is concealed to prevent image degradation. The proposed method was confirmed using real HD black box, there are more difficult to interpret the format of the ASCII code re-edit the location information when the compression effect disappears with the existing security zones added. Therefore, the proposed method is suitable for location-based services, such as Facebook or Youtube videos.
The installation of the expansion joints in a tunnel concrete lining and duct would minimize the cracking at the location of structural shape and stiffness change, differential settlement, big temperature change, and so on. However, it is difficult to determine the required spacing of the expansion joint in a tunnel concrete lining and duct quantitatively because the spacing is influenced by temperature change, structure construction condition, ground-structure interaction, and etc. Nevertheless, a highway specification (Korea Expressway Corporation, 2012) or a road design manual (Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, 2010) specifies that the expansion joint spacing in a tunnel concrete lining should be installed uniformly smaller than 25 m from the tunnel portals to 50 m inside of a tunnel and elsewhre 20-60 m in a tunnel (because there is no specifcation for a duct it is assumed that a duct follows the specfication of lining). This specification results in several construction and economic problems in relation with a tunnel construction. Accordingly, in order to minimize the problems, this study analyzed both domestic and foreign design standards and specifications. In addition, field test, theoretical and numerical analyses were carried out in relation to the expansion joint in a tunnel lining and duct. The purpose of this study is to reestabilish a criterion for installing the expansion joint in a tunnel concrete lining and duct.
Railway bridges with continuously welded rail have a limitation of span length due to track-bridge interaction. In order to overcome this, a sliding slab track system has been developed that comprises with a low-frictional sliding layer between the bridge deck and the track slab to isolate the longitudinal behavior between the bridge and the track. In this study, a real scale track system is prepared to experimentally evaluate the longitudinal frictional behavior. Applied loading rates were 0.2, 1.0, 5.0 and 10mm/min; vertical mass on the track are track slab only, 5,000 and 10,000kg added mass, respectively. Test results showed that the resulting frictional coefficients varied from 0.22 to 0.33. In addition, 10,000 cycle loadings were applied to simulate repetitive sliding to represent 30 years of service life. The frictional coefficient increase was measured and found to be 7% of that of the initial loading stage, which means that the sliding layer is adequate to provide low-frictional behavior for the sliding slab track system. Effects of changes of the frictional coefficient of the sliding layer were analyzed by rail-structure interaction analysis.
The purpose of this study was to develop a strainer that could protect a flow system by blocking the introduction of foreign substances into the pipe of industrial or architectural facilities. Strainers are installed at the front tip of valves, machines, or pumps in the piping line of clean water, oil, or gas. There are Y-type, U-type, and T-type strainers. The study identified problems with the Y-type strainers, develop a "C-type strainer with its inlet and outlet on a straight line" as a more improved new model, and compared them in functions in a full-scale strainer test. The study conducted a full-scale strainer test according to four situations at the flow laboratory of Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science by using the old Y-type strainer and C-type strainer 50A. The test results show that the C-type strainer had a higher capacity coefficient(Kv) than the Y-type one, recording 74.9% when there was no screen, 54.5% when there were no foreign substances in the screen, 54.2% when there was a 15% accumulation of foreign substances, and 52.4% when there was a 30% accumulation of foreign substances. The investigator conducted a test only with the 50A type due to the limitations of life-size strainers, but the results demonstrate that the C-type strainer had better flow characteristics than the Y-type one.

In Extracting the dynamic parameters for estimating the load carrying capacity and integrity of bridges, both the instrumentation and the processing the data plays important role . When the fixed point can not be secured, it is difficult and expensive to measure dynamic displacements. Even if the displacement is obtained through the integration of the acceleration data, the results can be quite different from the real behavior, because the main frequency contents can be leaked during discretized data processing. The instrumentation is used for measurements, and every measurement involves error and uncertainty, such as systematic, conformance, environmental, observational, sampling, and ranmom error. Systematic and conformance error can be remedied through the proper sellection and installation of the instruments, but sampling and random errors could not have been corrected properly and it becomes the limitation for using acceleration data. In this paper, the errors which can be occurred in numerical processing of dynamic data are referred, and the method to sellect proper sampling rate for the structural frequency range are proposed. Using the proposed method, the displacement response of the structures can be economically obtained from the measured acceleration record, and this procedure can be used properly to estimate the integrity of the bridges and infrastructures subjected to dynamic loads.

Submerged thin walls are extreme case of submerged rectangular blocks, and could be used for many purposes in rivers or coastal zones, e.g. to tsunami. To understand flow characteristics including flow and pressure fields around a specific submerged thin wall a numerical model was applied which includes computation of hydrodynamic pressure on ${\sigma}$-coordinate. ${\sigma}$-coordinate has strong merits for simulation of subcritical flow over mild-sloped beds. On the other hand ${\sigma}$-coordinate is quite poor to treat sharp structures on the bed. There have been a few trials to incorporate dynamic pressure in ${\sigma}$-coordinate by some researchers. One of the previous approaches includes process of sloving the Poisson equation. However, the above method includes many high-order terms, and requires long cpu for simulation. Another method SOLA was developed by Hirt et al. for computation of dynamic pressure, but it was valid for straight grid system only. Previous SOLA was modified for ${\sigma}$-coordinate for the present purpose and was adopted in a model system, CST3D. Computed flow field shows reasonable behaviour including vorticity is much stronger than the upstream and downstream of the structure. The model was verified to laboratory experiments at a 2DV flume. Time-average flow vectors were measured by using one-dimensional electro-magnetic velocimeter. Computed flow field agrees well with the measured flow field within 10 % error from the speed point of view at 5 profiles. It is thought that the modified SOLA scheme is useful for ${\sigma}$-coordinate system.
In this study, thr effect of $Bi_2O_3$ and BN addition as grain boundary modifiers on sintering and electrical properties of semiconducting PTCR(Positive Temperature Coefficient of Resistivity) mate rial were analyzed using TMA, XRD and Complex Impedance Spectroscopy method. Bismut.h Ox~de and Boron Nitride were added to Y-doped $BaTiO_3$ respectively. Bismuth sesquioxide up to O.lmol%solubil~ ty limit of $Bi_2O_3$ in Y--$BaTiO_3$ ceramics-retarded densification and grain growth, and further addition mitigated these retardation effects. The resistivity at room temperature increased with increasing amount of $Bi_2O_3$ and thus decreased the PTCR effect, probably due to the $Bi_2O_3$ segregation on the grain boundaries. From the complex ~mpedance pattern, it is known that the grain boundary resisitivity is dominant on the whole resistivity of sample. In the result of applying the defect chemistry, $Bi^{3+} \;and \; Bi^[5+}$ are substituted for Ua and Ti site, respectively. Boron nitride decomposed and formed liquid phase among the $BaTiO_3$ grains. The decomposed com~ ponents made the second phase and existed the tr~ple juntion from the result of EPMA. From the complex impendencc pattern, the gram and grain boundary resistivity were small. The grain size increased with increasing BN contents, and decreased grain boundary resistivity enhanced the PTCR effect.

Until now, the extraction of information on geographic features and the compilation of maps from satellite imagery has had many limitations because of its lower resolution compared to aerial photos to the recent. However, it is expected that the availability of high resolution satellite imagery whose spatial resolution is about 1m will reduce such limitations. Currently, a compilation of national-wide digital base maps is going on to construct the National Geographic Information Systems in Korea. It will be used for many application field of the social welfare. Therefore, in this study, we suggest that satellite imagery can help it and we have experimented on the possibility of detecting and interpreting geographic data using satellite imagery of various spatial resolutions. The interpretability and detectability of 46 features in 6 categories was experimented with 6 kinds of images of different resolutions. As a subsequent procedure, we have performed the fractal analysis for a quality test of the texture information. Through the fractal analysis, we could show that texture information and probability of discrimination increases as the spatial resolution of the image increases. Based on the results of this experiment, we could suggest the possibility of the renewal and construction of the National-wide Geographic Information Systems database using satellite imagery, as well as of examining appropriate spatial resolutions for objects of interest.
