A Study on Brand Definition - Focusing on etymology and institutional perspective - (브랜드의 정의에 관한 고찰 - 어원과 제도적 관점을 중심으로 -)

  • There are many definitions around brand. It complexify academic literature. Thus, this study collected meaningful definitions among many statements about brand and analyzed and classified them by available perspectives. This is especially necessary contents in domestic brand study, which is short of concept research about brand. Various literatures are refereed to brand definition introduction. But to etymological definition, several European linguistic theses are deeply reviewed and to institutional definition, wide range of information such as history, law and society is refereed. Total brand definitions are classified in . It is divided into 2 parts which are non-commercial context (etymological and institutional definition) and commercial context (producer, customer and the relation or interaction between producer and customer). In etymological definition, the word origin is clear word 'brandr' which means 'burning wood' and cattle-brand made this 'brand'. In legal definition, legal and institutional meaning of 'trademark' is examined. Etymological definition and institutional definition are fundamental and lexical definition which show brand history. These are foundation stones in brand studies.

  • 과학기술은 기술영역간의 관계를 통해 고유한 연구영역을 그리며 발달하며, 이는 학제의 다양성을 바탕으로 기존 기술들이 독특한 결합과정의 형성을 의미한다. 기술의 결합과정은 지식의 결합과정 관점으로 이해할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 에너지산업과 다른 특성을 갖는 신 재생에너지의 기술발전경로를 '지식흐름'의 관점에서 탐색하여 신 재생에너지 연구의 학제 구조 및 다양성을 살펴보고자 한다. 계량서지학적 분석은 데이터 수집의 간편성 및 초기 연구결과물 분석에 적용할 수 있다는 장점에 의해 여러 분야에서 폭넓게 응용되어 왔다. 특히, A.L Porter(1984)에 의해 'citation'을 이용한 학제간관계 측정에 적용하여 계량서지학적 방법을 바탕으로 지식흐름을 관찰하는데 선구적인 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 Tijsen(1992)은 동시분류분석방법을 적용하여 네덜란드 에너지 연구분야의 학제구조를 분석하였고, Kajikawa(2007)은 에너지분야의 신기술인 태양전지와 연료전지에 한정하여 인용네트워크 분석을 수행하여 연구발전의 경향을 알아보았다. 이에 본 연구에서는 계량 서지학적 방법의 하나인 co-classification 방법론을 적용하여 태양광 분야 중 태양전지에 초점을 맞추어 학제 간 다양성 분석 연구를 수행 하였다. 태양광은 신 재생에너지 중 전후방연관 파급효과가 가장 큰 분야이며, 반도체 기반기술을 바탕으로 그 기술을 전개할 수 있기에 국내 산업과의 연관도가 높은 산업이다. 태양전지의 연구 동향 파악 및 고유의 연구영역을 도출을 분석하기 위한 기본 자료는 ISI의 'Web of Science'를 기반하여 수집하였다. 또한 태양광 연구의 연구구조 파악을 위하여 계량서지학분석의 하나인 'co-classification' 방법론을 추가적으로 적용하여 학제간의 분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과 1979-2009년까지의 태양전지 연구 논문 2,602개를 바탕으로 동시에 2개 이상의 SC를 포함한 논문은 총 논문의 51.8%이며, 출현한 SC는 65개로 분석되었다. 이 중 2개 이상의 SC가 동시에 출연한 횟수는 증가하는 경향을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 이는 과학기술의 발전이 기술의 결합과정 또는 지식의 결합과정 관점으로 이해할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

Identifying Interdisciplinarity of Korean National R&D Using Patent CoIPC Network Analysis (한국 국가 R&D의 학제적 특성 분석 - 특허 공동IPC 연결망 분석의 활용 -)

  • This paper proposes a method of using national R&D patents' CoIPC networks to identify interdisciplinary trends of technology areas related to Korean national R&D. While previous research analyzed interdisciplinarity of national R&D with simple bibliometric descriptions, this research uses the network-based indexes to analyze its interdisciplinarity from the viewpoints of interdisciplinary "diversity of coupling" and "strength of coupling". In this research, this proposed method was used to form a R&D CoIPC network from the Korean national R&D patents registered from 2007 to 2010. It is expected that the proposed method can be incorporated into a system for a national R&D trend analysis, and used to identify the issues of technology convergence in national R&D and formulate its related research policies.

The Effect of Expected Perspective on the Role of Genre and Attitude toward Utilizing Genre in Broadcast Ad on the Liking of Broadcast Ad Genre (방송광고에서 장르의 역할에 대한 기대관점과 활용에 대한 태도가 방송광고 장르에 대한 호감도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of expected perspective on the role of genre and attitude toward utilizing genre in broadcast ad on the liking of broadcast ad genre as appeal types of creativity. The results show that there is a significant correlation between macro-environmental expected perspective(MEEP) on the role of genre and a negative attitude toward utilizing genre in broadcast ad. A significant correlation between micro-practical expected perspective(MPEP) and a positive attitude was also found. Consumers with an integrated-situational expected perspective(ISEP) show a more significant relationship with the dual attitude. Consumes with a MPEP have a stronger liking on comparative ad and sex appeal ad, and consumers with an ISEP show a median liking. Consumers with positive attitude have a stronger liking on comparative ad and sex appeal ad, and consumers with a dual attitude show a median liking that is between the positive attitude-based consumers' and negative attitude-based consumers'.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 어린이를 위한 인터랙티브 TV (KidTV)의 개발 사례를 통하여 사용자 인터페이스 디자인에 있어 제품디자인 영역의 특수성이 반영된 보다 적합한 인터랙티브 제품의 디자인 개발 체계를 개발하기 위한 관점을 찾는데 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 인터랙션 디자인 프로젝트에서 제품디자인적 문제해결 과제인 물리적 형태부여의 주요 요소인 인터랙션 스타일을 보다 합리적으로 조형요소로써 반영하기 위한 해결안으로써 "Form follows function" 이라는 루이스 설리반의 주장에서 힌트를 얻어 현시적 관점에서 그의 주장을 재해석하여 "Form follows Interaction" 이라는 디자인 키워드를 통하여 사용자 인터페이스 디자인에서의 제품디자인 측면의 인터페이스 개발을 위한 하나의 관점으로 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 다양한 학제가 결합하여 진행할 수 밖에 없는 사용자 인터페이스 디자인에 있어 여러 다른 학제들과 제품디자인 영역간의 이해를 돕고 사용자 인터페이스 전체적인 관점에서 제품디자인 영역의 디자인 개발체계를 확립할 수 있는 하나의 관점을 제공하고자 한다.

Study on the Components of Social Media Users' Value Expectation (소셜 미디어 이용자의 기대가치 구성 요인)

  • The purpose of this research is to increase an understanding of social media users and construct a strategic, administrative foundation to measure the efficiency of communicating with them by validly classifying components of social media users' value expectation(VE). Reviewing prior research, in-depth interviews as qualitative research, pre-test and main survey as quantitative research are conducted. The result of quantitative research shows that social media users' VE was categorized in terms of utilitarian, hedonic, relational, self-evident, ethical, system functional, participative, self-ostentatious, and self-hiding perspectives. The significance of this study is as follows: 1) It views communication, psychology, marketing, media and etc. related fields from an integrated perspective. 2) It segments and categorizes social media users' VE from a practical perspective. 3) It contributes to constructing a foundation to predict, confirm, and manage social media users' attitudes from an administrative perspective. Thus, this research will aid future research on social media users' attitude using the constructed VE components as variables and future research that uses this as a basis to find media effects.

  • Climate change and low-carbon consumer movement is demanding proper response around the world while rising oil price increases consumers' needs for green car. As a preliminary study to establish an industrial platform for green car and bring out corporate strategies, this article aims to propose an academic research framework by using various methodologies including conceptual/mathematical modeling, system dynamics, and ABM from different angles. First, an analysis framework for the industrial platform was introduced to analyze green car cases, required elements were proposed, and econometrics was applied to build a basic model related to green platform (two-sided market). Also, to analyze from a dynamic perspective, a system dynamics model was applied to green car environment to build a system dynamics analysis model that is applicable to particular green car industry analysis. Lastly, an agent based model was used to study the way to activate the hybrid car market in Korea from individual consumers' perspective. Based on the result, vehicle policies that are either being enforced or planned to be enforced in the Korean HEV market can be analyzed.

Interdisciplinary Collaborations in the Domain of Digital Libraries (디지털도서관 분야의 학제적 공동연구 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The domain of digital libraries is one of interdisciplinary fields since it contains various aspects of digital libraries. The main findings of digital library interdisciplinarity have been discussed in terms of contents, management and infrastructural technologies within the field of library and information science. The purpose of this study is to identify and widen the interdisciplinary structure of digital library domain by analyzing the collaborations from different disciplines. With 1,394 research articles of digital libraries from 1997 to 2010, the analysis of collaborations of authors from various disciplines was conducted. The results identified that three subject areas of authors such as Information science and library science, Computer science and Engineering were found as the centers to collaborate with various disciplines. In addition, sub-domains of digital library were recognized in terms of core digital library area, natural science area, medical related area and biology and medical area. The findings of this study depict the domain of digital libraries as a variety of subject areas since digital library domain is characterized with both research and practices.

  • This article challenges necessity of interdisciplinary studies between anthropology and marketing for more effective applications of ethnography in marketing fields. Anthropologist, Yong Sook Lee recently submitted an article about "application of ethnography in marketing fields" to open plaza at Korean Journal of Marketing. While she provides anthropologist' perspectives about applications of ethnography in marketing fields, this article attempts to enhance the marketers' understanding about ethnography by providing marketers's perspectives about the same issues.
