  • The National Competency Standard (NCS) is being implemented on the basis of a college of higher education. The college offers intensive education by organizing three areas of knowledge, skills and attitudes so that students can perform their full capacity at the same time as graduating in industrial field. Health Department at the College has been training for a variety of medical personnel, including medical technician regions. Especially, the medical technician and medical sector must be licensed to work in the medical field. Therefore, passing the national examination license is a prerequisite for employment. In this study, the health law scores of the third grade students (about 200 students) of the radiology department of D College were analyzed at weekly intervals. The weekly score acquisition can be predict the pattern of student class achievement of individual students. Furthermore, these results can predict the possibility of passing the radiation license examination for individual students.

  • As Information & Communication Technology is developed in fast speed, the educational field undertakes many changes in utilizing Information Technology(IT). As the smart phone's educational utilization brings many positive effects, so many people are interested in such educational application programs. The e-textbooks or learning contents based on the web have shown some limits in being utilized as main learning materials in school field. So this study identified such limits, and suggested a new direction for professional education by integrating mobile and QR code technologies with existing textbooks to realize a new book-type E-Textbook model. And this study purposed for students to participate in their classes more easily through making open-education environment for students studying specialized subjects and by applying new teaching-learning methods inducing more interest in them. Of course, this study's ultimate purpose is to raise students' learning ability about specialized subjects, and further, to improve their self-directed learning abilities with increased interests in classes. As the result operating this model, it was found that this model had enough learning effect.

  • In the digital environment where the Internet and IT change rapidly, researchers have utilized scientific information by relying on more complex and various media than before. This study performed a group interview with thirteen questions derived from five categories in order to understand information needs and information seeking behaviors of Korean doctoral researchers in this information environment. The five categories are (1) identifying information resource usage pattern, (2) attitude towards information resources and reasons for use, (3) IT skills and information literacy, (4) physical library use vs electronic access, and (5) attitudes toward the digital library. In particular, this study focused on analyzing similarities and differences of two groups of researchers selected equally in the humanities and social sciences and in science and technology by doing the interview. The research showed that there are no differences in the goal of using scientific information, information literacy, the ratio of using written materials to electronic resources, and routes of acquiring research ideas or knowledge, but there are differences in materials used for studies or researches and in favorite scientific portal sites.

  • Though the education of culture and art for disabled children is very important, it has not been brisk yet until recently due to 'absence of the teaching methods suitable for disability types, levels and programs.'. In this situation, cartoon contents can be used as the most appropriate tools for culture and art education for mentally retarded children. Entertainment functions and genre features of cartoon contents can motivate the applicable children to participate more voluntarily and positively and function as teaching tools for interesting activities. Of course, since it is not proper to apply the cartoon contents for normal children to Special Education Field as they are, cartoon works should be made by understanding closely the characteristics and degrees of retardation of the applicable children and applying them to the composition of cartoons. However, for the contribution of this attempt to education field, it is thought that concrete guidelines for producing cartoon contents considering the concept of various types of disability, emotion, social behavioral traits, ability of cognition, school achievements, and the characteristics of language and physical health should be necessary, and to improve the application of the developed cartoon contents so that they will not remain as superficial results, sufficient communication with the applicable children such as application to classes in the process of development is necessary.

  • This study aims to explore the effects of the parenting education program for high-school maladjusted students. To this purpose, a parenting education program for adolescents developed by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family(MOGEF) was applied to ten high-school maladjusted students in an alternative(Dae-an) class in Jeju. Findings from class observations and interviews with participants are as follows. First, students with school maladjustment recognized importance and necessity of positive self-concepts and had an opportunity for self-growth through parenting education program. Second, students with school maladjustment obtained understanding about their family of origin and confidence for forming their future families. Third, advance learning about meanings and roles of being a parent provided students with opportunities to know importance of responsible sexual behavior. Fourth, practices of basic care with a replica of a new-born baby enhanced participation and concentration level of students with school maladjustment which became extremely effective in obtaining necessary knowledge for the basic care. Fifth, information provision for parent roles according to children's different developmental levels let students recognize that parent's roles change as their children grow and opened a way to grasp the need of parent education. Sixth, education and repetitive practices on reflective listening helped students enhance communication skills which entailed expanding their human relations. Seventh, passing-down of emotion and understanding on child abuse allowed students recognize risks of child abuse as well as the importance and need of skills for controlling emotion. This study sheds lights on the feasibility and effectiveness of a parenting education program for maladjusted or vulnerable students as an effective program for school drop-out prevention.

The WBI program on the content of oceanography unit in Earth Science for high schools was developed using Namo 4.0, JAVA-script, Flash 4, Video Capture of SnagIt, Animation Shop graphic tools. The treatment group consisted of students who participated in the WBI program developed in this study, and the control group consisted of students who participated in the module instruction using self-learning materials. The results from this study were as follows: First, the scores of science achievement of WBI group were significantly higher than those of module group. There was not interaction effect of treatment and students' learning ability. Second, there were no significant difference in the scores of the attitude towards science learning between WBI group and module group, and there was not interaction effect of treatment and students' learning ability. Third, in the perception questionnaire of WBI learning, many students showed the WBI learning were good in terms of causing interaction between learners and web based learning materials including various images and animations. However there are several students who showed learning difficulties. For example they wonder which part is more important and what order is proper to study in hypertext environment.

Data were collected from 64 students who participated in flipped learning for 7 weeks at N university. The results were as follows. First, after applying flipped learning, learners feel more comfortable learning together and prefer collaborative learning. Second, flipped learning had no significant effects on learner's overall metacognition, but it had positive effects on the awareness and cognitive strategies. Third, flipped learning had no significant effects on academic self-efficacy, but it positively affected the task difficulty preference and confidence of learners who had a lower level of collaborative tendencies. Fourth, flipped learning had no significant effects on SDL ability, but it positively affected the learning plan of learners who had a higher level of collaborative tendencies. Fifth, learners' class satisfaction of flipped learning was generally very high. We suggested a policy, instructional design and strategies for effective implementation of flipped learning.
