  • This study aimed to foster the learning abilities of mathematics, that is, along with the formation of a sure mathematical concept, extending the powers of doing mathematics, and bringing the creativities for 3rd grade elementary school children. In order to achieve these objects, we have executed mathematical classes for two consecutive hours of 16 times using the teaching model of [Learning contents in textbook]$\rightarrow$[The first problem Posing]$\rightarrow$[Problem solving to childrens' posing some problems]$\rightarrow$[Advanced problem posing] to 3rd grade school children during the first semester of 2009. In this paper, we analyzed problems that are made by children focusing on the four fundamental rules +, -, ${\times}$, $\div$ of arithmetic, with the view points of problem's completion, fluencies, flexibilities, buildings of concept, originalities and using materials. As a result of the comparative analysis of the first problems and advanced problems made by the children, the first problems were revealed to be rather better in of problem's completion and fluencies. And the flexibilities were improved in the division and multiplication classes carried on. Setting up the experimental and comparative class, we compared to the scholastic achievement of two classes for the beginning and end in the first semester. In the result, the former was improved in the scholastic achievement more than the latter.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the structural relationship empirically among self-esteem, self-efficacy and life satisfaction of college students who answered that they had high academic stress. SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used to achieve the objectives of this study. In SPSS 23.0, frequency analysis to analyze demographic characteristics, correlation analysis to verify multi-collinearity among the questionnaire scales, and reliability verification to determine the reliability of questionnaire questions were conducted. In AMOS 21.0, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to verify the construct validity of factors and to verify the causal relationship between variables. To determine the goodness of fit of the model, the 𝑥2 test and the goodness-of-fit index were used. Judging. First, the self-efficacy of college students with high academic stress group through swimming class was positively influenced on self-esteem. Second, the self-efficacy of college students with high academic stress group through swimming class was positively influenced on life satisfaction. Third, the self-esteem of college students with high academic stress group through swimming class was found to affect life satisfaction. This study has significance in demonstrating the problem of academic stress of Korean university students and in proposing expansion of the physical education class as a solution.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the instruction with question-creation training, compared with traditional science instructions. The instruction with question-creation training is to give students chances to make questions by themselves based on what they learned before the end of the classes. The four effects of the instruction were studied: students' achievement, metacognition, self-efficacy, and the level of the questions created by the students according to different proficiency levels. Research data was gathered from 65 second grade students at a middle school in Busan. The comparative group was instructed in traditional lecture-type teaching method. The experimental group was instructed with questioncreation training. Students in the experimental group were asked to make 3 questions by themselves and then, to solve their peers' questions about 15 minutes before the end of the classes. Both groups were divided into 3 groups by proficiency level according to the results of last semester's science test. Before the research, a metacognition test and a self-efficacy test were conducted. After the research, an achievement test, a question level test, a metacognition test, and a self-efficacy test were conducted and analyzed by t-test. The research data for question level was analyzed by one-way ANCOVA. The results of this study revealed that question-creation training has a positive effect on student's achievement, metacognition, and self-efficiency. It also showed most of the students have gained an ability to make higher-level questions regardless of their proficiency level due to the increased number of students who made higher-level questions. It also showed that most of the students could gain an ability to make higher-level questions regardless of their proficiency level from the fact that the number of students who made higher-level questions increased in every proficiency level.

  • This study is intended to identify the impacts the Brain Education Meditation Program have on elementary school students' self-regulated learning ability and the academic self-efficacy, This study aims to answer these three questions: First, is the Brain Education Meditation Program effective in improving self-regulated learning abilities of elementary school students? Second, is the Brain Education Meditation Program effective in improving the academic self-efficacy of elementary school students? Third, is there any positive correlation between the Self-Regulated learning ability and the academic self-efficacy of elementary school students? The data analysis results showed as follows: The Program thereby changes the self-regulated learning ability of the students. Second, it has improved the self-confidence, which is a sublevel factor of academic self-efficacy, of the elementary school students who participated in the Brain Education Meditation Program. Third, there exists the positive correlation between self-regulated learning ability and academic self-efficacy.

  • This study will contribute to improve intimacy and interests of students in mathematics and to cultivate their abilities and attitudes to continuously learn through problem posing activities using fairy tales. An experimental study was carried out two classes of the fifth grade (total 60 of students, each group 30 os students) in G elementary school located in Daegu Metropolitan City. This experiment was performed for thirteen weeks. For this study, using two examination devices for measuring mathematical attitude and learning achievement, pre- and post-tests were carried out. As a result, it was found that two groups are identical groups. Problem posing activities with fairy tales had significant effect on mathematical attitudes of children and learning achievement of children.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the levels of hope and their relationship with problem behavior, academic records and procrastination among rural adolescents. The participants were 579 rural middle and high school students from three counties. The major results of the study were as follows. First, pathway and agency thinking of rural adolescents were negatively correlated with depression and anxiety, and were positively correlated with academic records and procrastination. But only agency thinking of rural adolescents were negatively correlated with delinquency among problem behaviors. Second, as a result of multivariate analysis of variance, groups of high hope of rural adolescents were lower in depression and anxiety than groups of low hope, but were higher in academic records and procrastination.

  • Through the 2015 Revised Curriculum, programming education is introduced into the elementary school regular curriculum as part of the software education. Effective teaching & learning methods can be presented through an analysis of the effects of programming education on the problem-solving abilities. In this paper, students were divided into two groups according to their academic achievement, a learning program was developed for five times of implementation using the entry and the sensor board for the entry, and classes to which it was applied were conducted. Before and after the classes, a problem-solving test tool was used to measure and analyze the changes in Gamma waves and EEG concentration indicators. As a result, the gamma waves and the concentration indices of the students in the group with high academic achievement showed a tendency to be improved through the programming lessons, and those of the students in the group with poor academic achievement showed no such tendency. Through this, the necessity of the level-specific programming education in consideration of students' academic abilities was suggested.

  • The objective of this study was to determine the effects of simulation education with problem-based learning (SIM-PBL) on information literacy, self-directed learning ability, and academic self-efficacy of nursing students. The subjects were 81 fourth-year nursing students attending a university in Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. SIM-PBL was provided once per week (150 minutes each) for four weeks, and a structured questionnaire was used to survey information literacy, self-directed learning ability, and academic self-efficacy before and after educational training. After completing the four-week program, abilities in the sub-items of information literacy, such as information integration (${\acute{p}}=.030$), information expression (${\acute{p}}=.003$), and information ethics (${\acute{p}}=.016$) were improved. However, no differences in self-directed learning ability and academic self-efficacy were noted. Findings confirmed that SIM-PBL is an effective teaching method for improving the information literacy of nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to come up with an SIM-PBL education plan for utilizing reliable and useful information ethically.
