This paper demonstrates how to incorporate the teaching of communication strategies into a large class of English-speaking learners of the Korean language. The method proposed here was developed to overcome the difficulty of conducting language activities involving communicative interactions amongst students and also between teacher and students in a large classroom. As a way of compensating the minimal opportunities for interactions in the classroom, students are given the task of expressing in Korean the English translations of authentic Korean comics via Twitter, which was later replaced with the feedback feature on Moodle, and then their Korean expressions are collected and projected onto a big screen. These collected expressions by students naturally differ from one another, helping students to realize that it is possible for them to express the same message or meaning in many different ways. The results of two separately conducted questionnaires show that this method is an effective way of providing students with significantly increased chances of producing 'comprehensible output' that requires them to think of how to communicate with their limited knowledge of the Korean language. Many students also commented that the teachers' feedback on errors provides them with the opportunity to learn about common errors as well as their own errors.
The purpose of this study is to explore supporting strategies for teaching and learning based on students' effect recognition and continuous intention in college flipped learning. It was analyzed 426 data by multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) by examining student's effect recognition and continuous intention on 15 flipped learning classes of K-university in Chungnam. The characteristics of learners were male, senior students, students who knew flipped learning, students who did not have previous experience, and students who were learning video at anytime. As a teaching strategy, it was found that effect recognition and continuous intention were high in the supplementary deepening flipped learning class and natural science or engineering area. As a teaching and learning supporting strategies, First, the university should develop and operate flipped class learning strategy program for females and low-grade students. Second, it should support the development of good flipped learning design and operation model of instructor. Third, it should support the development of high quality online learning contents that students can learn from time to time. Fourth, it should support the strengthening of teaching competency to develop and operate flipped learning classes. This study can be used as basic data to support and spread the effective flipped learning classes of the university in the future.
The purpose of this study is to suggest a new direction in using LOGO as a gifted education program and to seek an effective approach for LOGO teaching and learning, by analyzing the strategic thinking of mathematically gifted elementary students. This research is exploratory and inquisitive qualitative inquiry, involving observations and analyses of the LOGO Project learning process. Four elementary students were selected and over 12 periods utilizing LOGO programming, data were collected, including screen captures from real learning situations, audio recordings, observation data from lessons involving experiments, and interviews with students. The findings from this research are as follows: First, in LOGO Project Learning, the mathematically gifted elementary students were found to utilize such strategic ways of thinking as inferential thinking in use of prior knowledge and thinking procedures, generalization in use of variables, integrated thinking in use of the integration of various commands, critical thinking involving evaluation of prior commands for problem-solving, progressive thinking involving understanding, and applying the current situation with new viewpoints, and flexible thinking involving the devising of various problem solving skills. Second, the students' debugging in LOGO programming included comparing and constrasting grammatical information of commands, graphic and procedures according to programming types and students' abilities, analytical thinking by breaking down procedures, geometry-analysis reasoning involving analyzing diagrams with errors, visualizing diagrams drawn following procedures, and the empirical reasoning on the relationships between the whole and specifics. In conclusion, the LOGO Project Learning was found to be a program for gifted students set apart from other programs, and an effective way to promote gifted students' higher-level thinking abilities.

The purpose of this study is to examine how time management, usefulness, and interest predict m-learning outcomes. For this study, 144 high school students participated in m-learning activities during science classes. After 5 week of classes, they responded the following surveys: time management, usefulness, interest, satisfaction, perceived achievement and learning persistence. Multiple regression analyses with correlation applied to this study as a data analysis method. The results showed that time management, usefulness, interest significantly predicted learning satisfaction and persistence. In addition, time management and usefulness significantly predicted perceived achievement, Therefore, these findings imply that time management, usefulness should be considered for designing m-learning activities in high school science class.

Recently, learning how to learn is a matter of concern among many pedagogists and become the important subject matter of school education. That's why there are many learners who fail to get good results compared with their potential abilities and efforts, as well as the necessity to educate independent and self-determined learner by teaching learning strategies that can help leaners to get new information and skills by themselves in an information-oriented society was emphasized. Therefore, this study is to utilize the learning strategy in order to improve the learners study skills, and grope for the method of self-directed learning about the social studies centered on the learners. And, it is to utilize the reciprocal teaching with the learning strategy for improving the learners study skills. Also, it is to make the learners induced to participate in the teaching for social studies actively, grafting the characteristics of web on the reciprocal teaching. According to this intent, this study was developed as three steps. As for the first step, it investigated the reciprocal teaching, a teaching-learning theory to apply to the program, and the theoretical background about web utility in the social studies. On the second step, it embodied the reciprocal teaching-learning system about the we-based social studies that will be available in the self-directed learning centered on the learners. Lastly, it analysed the change of recognition about the learners social study skills and the learning the social studies after applying the materialized website to the actual lesson.

This study was conducted to examine the effects of a meta-cognition teaching and learning program on nursing students' self-leadership, collaborative preference and problem solving ability. The study was designed using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected between March 5 and June 30, 2018 from 74 2-year nursing students in D College of D City who were assigned to an experimental group (n=36) or a control group (n=38). The meta-cognition teaching and learning program consisted of 10 sessions of combined individual and small group learning. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, as well as a t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, and paired t-test with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. After receiving the meta-cognition teaching and learning program, significant differences were observed in self-leadership (t=4.79, p<0.001), collaborative preference (t=5.07, p<0.001), and problem-solving ability (t=6.48, p<0.001) of the experimental group. The results of this study indicate that the meta-cognition teaching and learning program was effective at increasing self-leadership, collaborative preference and problem-solving ability in nursing students. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as basic data to improve self-leadership, collaborative preference and problem-solving ability of nursing students.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the summer enrichment programs on Korean gifted students' science learning and creativity development. This program is organized by Purdue University Gilled Education Resource Institute (GERI) in U.S.A. Researchers conducted semi-structured interview with 6 Korean students and observed 12 Korean students and GERI teachers for teacher-student interaction and teaching strategies during science-related classes. From the results, GERI program developed from Purdue 3 stage enrichment model that emphasizes creative teaching strategies, group discussions, and individual research were effective to foster creative thinking of Korean gilled students. Despite their language barriers, Korean gilled students found GERI program experience fun, creative, easy, relaxing, and thereby satisfying for their psychological and academic needs. They expected the level of stimulation in GERI program to be higher and the class to be organized more systematically; however, they reported that the broad range of topics and diverse content of GERI classes helped them develop creativity more than Korean classes. These findings will make contribution to the improvement of the quality of gifted education curriculum and programming in Korea.

In this study, in order to strengthen the AI utilization competency of pre-service secondary science teachers, a project activity in which pre-service teachers directly create an 'AI-based molecular structure customized learning support tool' by using Google's teachable machine was developed and applied. To this end, the program developed for 26 third-grade pre-service teachers enrolled in the Department of Chemistry Education at H University in Chungcheongbuk-do was applied for 14 sessions during extracurricular activities. Then, the perceptions of 'understanding how AI works', 'efficacy of using AI in science classes', and 'plans to utilize AI in science classes' were investigated. As a result of the study, it was found that the program developed in this study was effective in helping pre-service teachers understand the operating principle of AI technology for machine learning at a basic level and learning how to use it. In addition, the program developed in this study was found to be effective in increasing the efficacy of pre-service teachers for the use of AI in science classes. And it was also found that pre-service teachers recognized the aspect of using AI technology as a new teaching·learning strategy and tool that can help students understand science concepts. Accordingly, it was found that the program developed in this study had a positive impact on pre-service teachers' AI utilization competency reinforcement and perception improvement at the basic level. Implications of this were discussed.

This study examined the effectiveness of maternity nursing simulations using a high-fidelity simulator for undergraduate nursing students. One-group pretest-posttest design was used. The simulation-based education program consisted of three sessions, including the clinical scenarios about prenatal, childbearing and postpartum care. The program provided for 3 weeks in November 2014. Data was collected before and after the simulation education using self-reported questionnaires, which included simulation effectiveness, problem solving ability, communication skills and self-confidence in maternity nursing. The data of 83 participants were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 20.0 program. After simulation education, the overall score of the simulation effectiveness was 17.4 out of 26.0. Communication skill (t=4.58, p=<.001) and self-confidence in maternity nursing (t=9.70, p=<.001) increased significantly in the posttest. On the other hand, there was no significant change in the problem solving ability. The simulation effectiveness correlated significantly with the problem solving ability (r=.494, p<.001), communication skill (r=.361, p<.001), and self-confidence in maternity nursing (r=.497, p<.001) after simulation-based education. These findings suggest that the high-fidelity simulation in maternity nursing education could be used not only to enhance the nursing competency, but also to deal with the limitations of the clinical practicum in the current situation.
This paper presents several reasons for the necessity of archaeological hands-on training and strategies for its implementation. First, it is necessary to produce a specialized manual for local cultural heritage education that can enhance the specialization and educational effectiveness of archaeological experience education. In addition, in order to secure professionalism in hands-on education and conduct it systematically, the ability of instructors to conduct education is important, so instructor competence reinforcement education needs to be conducted regularly. In addition, hands-on education needs a strategy of planning and content development of archaeological education programs, with consideration given to the subjects of learning, and the establishment of a cooperative network. It is time to cooperate with various experts to establish an education system necessary for cultural heritage education in the region and develop customized content for local archaeological heritage supplementary textbooks. Finally, due to Covid-19, we agonized over effective education plans for online archaeological heritage education, which requires active interaction class design and a strategy to promote interaction between professors and learners. In addition, such archaeological heritage education should be compatible with the goal of providing customized lifelong education.
