In the 21st century, Korean society has continually changed into information society, knowledge society, and recently ubiquitous society. Therefore, 'ubituious' has become one of the most popular terms, and in many sectors of our society the ubiquitous environment has become more and more realities. And, universities are facing the need for changes in teaching and learning as well as library services. In this research, to enhance and vitalize the ubiquitous learning and academic library services, the following topics are discussed: First, the concept of 'ubiquitous' is defined and its major elements are examined. Second, the trend of establishing the information environment in higher education and developing the ubiquitous learning are investigated. Third, the present situation of ubiquitous campus and libraries are reviewed. Fourth, proposed are the strategies of developing those ubiquitous learning and library services in universities in Korea.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the information behavior of Korean college students as related to their process of learning activities, and to provide the essential data for improving the service quality of Korean academic libraries. To the end, discussed in details are (1) classifying the everyday learning activities of college students into six types and finding out the special features of their information needs and seeking behavior, (2) figuring out the meanings and use-patterns of academic libraries in their everyday learning, and (3) developing the variables influencing their library use behavior and testing the relationship between such variables and library use behavior. The data were collected through a survey with 290 college students, and analyzed for both frequency test and Chi-square test for the discussion.

A knowledge-based society values creative and independent individuals. This study depicts operational approaches to the effective utilization of school libraries as teaching/learning media center in order to support independent learning in relation to the way in which constructivist teaching-learning(CTL) improves learners' self-learning abilities. The result of this study seems to imply that self-learning based on constructivism is possible only when school libraries are managed as teaching/learning media centers and that the more variety there is in learning materials and when more direct interaction exists, there is more creativity and self-learning abilities are achieved in the learning process.

In order to respond to changes in college's educational goals and talents, university libraries need to be transformed into spaces that support creative and collaborative learning. Apart from overseas cases, it is necessary to discuss the development of creative and collaborative learning spaces appropriate to the situation of Korean university libraries. This purpose of this study is to provide an effective guide to university libraries planning to develop creative and cooperative learning spaces. To this end, this study conducted a literature review to define the concept of a creative and collaborative learning space in a university library, collected and analyzed cases of creative and collaborative learning space of Korean university libraries, and proposed a model for developing creative and collaborative learning space for university library. Case collection was carried out through field visits to 12 university libraries. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with the staffs in charge of the construction and operation of five university libraries selected in consideration of the operating entity, region, and scale. This study is meaningful in that it intensively researched and analyzed the advanced cases of creative and collaborative learning spaces in Korea to derive suggestions that can be used in the field of domestic university libraries.

1920년대 문을 연 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관은 그저 시설과 장서를 갖추고 그야말로 가장 기본적인 서비스만 제공하였다. 그러다가 이용자수도 늘어나고 그들의 요구도 다양해지면서 독서교실을 비롯한 독서관련 프로그램을 운영하게 되었고, 현재는 독서는 물론 취미 교양, 인문학강좌 등 거의 모든 분야에 걸쳐 다양한 프로그램 및 행사를 진행하고 있다. 도서관 및 평생학습관의 프로그램은 기관마다 조금씩 차이는 있지만 대개 독서교실처럼 독서 관련 프로그램들이 주류를 이뤄 왔으나 평생교육프로그램(문화교실)이 기하급수적으로 늘어나면서 교양 취미생활까지 광범위하게 운영되고 있다. 또한 2000년대 중반부터 시작된 도서관 평가에 프로그램 및 행사가 많은 비중을 차지하면서 양적, 질적 성장을 보이고 있다. 여기서는 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관 및 평생학습관의 변천 중 프로그램 및 행사 부문에 대하여 주요 내용과 특색, 성과 등을 대략적으로 살펴보면서 바람직한 방향을 모색해 보고자 한다.

1920년 종로도서관을 시작으로 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관(평생학습관 포함)의 역사는 어언 90여년이 흘렀다. 그간 양적으로나 질적으로 많은 발전을 거듭하였고, 시설, 환경 등 하드웨어적으로나 업무, 이용, 프로그램 등 소프트웨어적으로 과거보다는 효율성, 편의성, 다양성, 복잡성 등이 높아졌다. 또한 과거 관료적 모습도 많이 사라지고 모든 부문에 있어서 이용자 중심으로 변모되었다. 자료조직, 대출 및 열람, 이용자서비스 등 도서관 운영에 있어서도 사회 전반적 발전 및 정보화와 더불어 모든 면에서 격세지감을 느낄 정도로 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 여기에서는 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관 및 평생학습관의 변천 중 자료조직과 이용 부문에 대하여 현재와는 많이 달랐던 그 때 그 시절에 대한 기억들을 더듬어 보고자 한다.

In the society of lifelong learning, a school library has to play an important educational role in improving self-directed learning ability that school education is seeking. First of all, This study makes it clear that the goal of school library use education is to develop self-directed learning ability. The purpose of this study is to propose a data curation service to support teaching and learning activities of university libraries. To this end, the concept of data curation has been summarized, and how to understand information services and teaching-learning information data curation of university libraries. As a traditional extension of library information services, the use of university library data curation services has been proposed. As a result of research, data curation suggests that it is appropriate to understand the data by focusing more on the utilization of data. The university library emphasized that the data curation service is needed through the establishment of an institutional repository of teaching-learning activity materials for the visible effects that contribute to the educational service of the parent university. Finally, the research was completed by presenting five levels of teaching and learning information data curation framework.

Recent developments and integration of IT are expanding the possibility of various instructional learning methods in education environments. Contemporary learning theory such as open education, self-directed learning, student's centered learning describes the students as an active and engaged information user and underscores the importance of information literacy. Therefore, school library today focus on the process of learning-teaching process rather than dissemination information, and emphasized the focus of the school electronic library as information center. The purpose of this study is examined physical components of School Electronic Library, design a model of information system and suggests a strategy for implementing teaching-learning process support services based on school electronic library and information system.
